Jackie's range covers both from E3 up to C6 which is at top of the soprano range. Both voice types have similar range, but the tessitura lies in different parts of the range. In my estimation, Jackie's tessitura is in the soprano range because of the ease with which she sings the high notes, right on pitch, and the exceptional clarity of her high notes which is her signature. To some extent, it depends upon what she is singing. My Heart Will Go On, for example lies in her mezzo range, while songs like Attesa demonstrate her soprano. In that respect, either is correct.
Don't know what that keyboard player is trying to achieve I think you two should have workshopped that a bit more. Less is more as they say. Still the best singer in the world in my view though.
