    Great video! It made me remember fishing there starting in 1971. I have not been there in 20 years. Still a healthy fishery!

    "Before you pull your anchor get your motor started". Great advice on this pool, people have almost died because the motor didn't start after the anchor was pulled.

      Nothing better than time on water to get better at fishing but I know that's not always easy. I think the most important thing to consistently catching spring walleye is positioning yourself in the right amount of flow and presenting the bait so that it stays in the strike as long as possible. Keep after them!

    Do you plan on making a Mississippi summer video... 99% of the Walleye vids on the Mrs are spring and fall. Thanks for sharing.

    • @AnglerX
      @AnglerX  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kimber45 if I can get on some fish I will. There are so many options in the summer that it’s hard to focus 😆

    Nice hogs. What are you using for video editing software? I'm struggling with this DaVinci Resolve 16.

    • @AnglerX
      @AnglerX  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use Pinnacle Studio 21. Its has a ton of capability but also has a few quirks. I've learned how to deal with them but it can be frustrating at times. For the money and what it offers I'd say its worth it.

    Awesome video yet again! Got a question for ya. I live in MN with MN license. Can I launch in WI on the river without a WI license?

    • @jasonstratman1942
      @jasonstratman1942 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can launch in WI, but watch out for the boat ramp fees.... Border waters between WI & MN is between the railroad tracks so your MN fishing license should cover.

    • @AnglerX
      @AnglerX  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jason is correct. You can fish anywhere between the train tracks on MN/WI boundary waters with your MN license. You do need to pay particular attention to what state you are in when on the river because the laws differ for the two states. Look at google maps, although not official, there is a line that shows the state boundary and can be used as a reference.

    • @kimber4573
      @kimber4573 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. But up in the Prescott area there are lots of varied rules because you have the St Croix running into the Mrs and both rivers are boundary waters, with a catch and release in pool 2..

    You ever fish this area in the summer?

    • @AnglerX
      @AnglerX  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, its a fish magnet. Many fish species congregate at all the lock dam or spillway systems. The walleyes wont be as prevalent as they will start to disperse back down river after spawning.

  • @atomicwedgie8176
    @atomicwedgie8176 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Walleye/sauger get caught under the chin, because they try to smash the bait to the bottom, before eating it. Might be a result of eating willow cats safely, so they do to just to be on the safe side for all prey. Not Foul Hooked!

    • @AnglerX
      @AnglerX  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was always my interpretation of the law as well until I had a discussion with a Minnesota game warden on this very subject. The hook must be inside the mouth and not on the outside so under the chin is considered foul hooked. The rule isn't super specific so its open to interpretation but that was the wardens interpretation. IT may differ slightly by warden or body of water or even what type of lure you are using. Its good to email or call the DNR to get clarification.
