Big Pike are like Submarines ! The way a Big Pike surges at a boat is where Mono line shines as line stretch is a good thing.

Did you drive across the Lansing bridge that day? I see the bridge moved slightly and is going to be closed for a while. I'm taking an upriver road trip on 3/12 and that bridge was part of the plan. The bridge looks very similar to the very narrow grate bridge that connected Savanna and Sabula before they imploded it and replaced in 2017. I always hoped I wasn't going to meet anyone going the other way!!

I was wondering if a drum was going to make a appearance, and it did not disappoint. I always say its just not a normal day of fishing on the big river without a sheepshead! I like how the birds led you to hooking that sweet pike.
