  • This video is part of a Gold Mining and Mineral Prospecting course. In this video I show all the equipment I take with me when I'm prospecting. I go through my gold panning backpack and explain each piece of equipment in the pack.

You're recording this because you are cementing your name as a gold prospecting legend for future generations to learn from. Considering You're too humble to say it i will.

Have watched as many of your videos as I can find. I hope the students realize how fortunate they are to have a great chance to learn from you .... I learned all my prospecting , more or less on the "trial and error" method , .....that was before the TH-cam days. All I have been able to do is look VERY HARD ......I live in Alabama and all the gold here is super small -----leading all the way to the Carolina's ! Don't get me wrong I have a great time looking for it and as you go northeast the chances are better that the gold will increase in size and amounts. Keep up the great work ....love your teaching skills and style.....l'm a very lucky guy to still do a lot outdoors at age 63 , my health has allowed me to stay as active as I want...... and I do . Also thank you for all the great info l've received from all your videos.RICHARD!

Bless you for caring ...The Black Dog Down.....over and out!....

I stumbled across this series of videos from the class you taught to your students. What a great series. Thanks I like the way you teach the kids. Being a teacher is not an easy job. My daughter and her daughter are both teachers. My daughter is teaching third grad this year and my grand daughter is teaching first grade. The both love teaching. Thanks again for being a great teacher.

Exactly, I am red head too and have had heat stroke twice. The first time I was cleaning out a vessel in the oilfield near edson, alberta and almost passed out. The 2nd time I was flat roofing with hot tar and it put me in the hospital. Also redheads are almost immune to any types of painkillers, tylenol wont even work for me if I have a headache. A doctor told me this not long ago.

I recently started carrying toothbrushes in my backpack, you can take some of your toothbrushes and drill a small hole at the handle end and insert a small steel rod with the tip of the steel rod slightly bent for a crevice tool.. I have 3 with different gauge steel.. Lol.. and I also pack different size spoons

Couldn't see your mini crevice shovel. Where did you get it, or did you make it?
I was thinking of modifying several deep bar spoons to various widths.
