My wife and i stayed at Casa Loma in 2019 and the wifi was non-existent in the rooms. You had to go sit in the lobby if you wanted to use it to look up anything. Does anyone know if they have improved it since then?
I stayed there in May and having a reliable internet connection is very important to me. I had no complaints. I will suggest another budget hotel that I have stayed at numerous times, it's the Flamingo. Just stayed there again two weeks ago. Currently, they are doing some construction in what they call the garden area. They are building a small bar and grill in the center near the pool. Never had any wifi issues. Less than a mile to Pier Park. Walking distance to many restaurants, bars, a liquor and convenience store. In fact, they have a great seafood place/bar right next door. And a Mexican food place as well. Literally both within a hundred feet or so of the hotel. Recently remodeled, furnishings similar or just slightly better than Casa Loma. Although, you kind of get a Casa Loma vibe. Even with the construction going on right now, I would recommend it over Casa Loma. Honestly, one of the most comfortable beds I've slept on probably ever! And I've been spending months traveling each year for the last 6 years. This includes staying at grossly overpriced Airbnbs.
