He should have gotten his full $900, if the rent was only $300 why would accept the other $300? You knowingly stole his money and STILL had him pay for the next month. He pissed me off with this case.

He accused the plaintiff of perjury about the deposit, but didn’t call out how the defendant originally said the $300 rent charge included the rent then changed it to they both had to pay $300 plus utilities. The judge also didn’t get onto the defendant about having an illegal sublet and putting the plaintiff in a difficult position of having to move out with little notice. The plaintiff should have sued for emotional distress. The judge had a stick up his butt from the jump.
