    Cracking video, thanks for the tips. I'm a decorator in training so all these videos are brilliant. One thing, I notice you used your scraper to protect the carpet when painting horizontally which is fine as the carpet doesn't move. How do you deal with the vertical part of the carpet as that moves? If you were to use your scraper to hold back the carpet while painting, when it springs back does it pick up paint and mark the carpet? Thanks again

    What's that at 3:23? A small paint brush and paint? If so would it not get paint on to the carpet?

      Thanks.. its a very common to come across paint on carpet... especially when people think they can stick tape down and it will stop paint... they flood the paint on and it soakes into the top edge of the carpet..

    What primer do you recommend for wood that's been stained and had a clear coat of varnish on it? My skirtings look terrible so I was going to use shellac bin but I've got children and pets and I read that it's really smelly and quite toxic.

    Which paint did you use? I have recently paintey radiators with water based radiator paint from v3. I want to use the same on stair spindles and banister. Can I do that?

      Yes it could... if people can afford it.. they get what they pay for.. we always ask how far do you want us to go... its your money.. we budget for everyone.

    thought you would mask up carpet. cutting in not best way as you demonstrated with paint removal on carpet.......

      The paint is on the carpet because the last person used tape flooded paint on and this is the result.

      @@g.johnson3119 tape is best removed when paint is wet.. so for me I never use it near carpet because when you remove it you can get bits on the paint work.

    Imagine how long that's going to take. Rub down the woodwork hover it and use a roll of 38mm maskin tape and you don't have to cut in on both undercoat and gloss

      It all depends on your customers budget.. its great to do but adds to the job.. but if lots to fill best to use pollyfila.. thanks

    Why? Surely it’s quicker to use a filling knife to tap loose ends in then tape the edges .

      Thank you.. and no its just something that gets in the way really. Most things just need a quick denib.. sandpaper in pocket no matter where I stand.. saves time.
