  • Following the success of the 1967 album, "Ol' Brown Eyes is Back", Rusty Thrustwell went back on the road to tour across four states, and this was his opening number for the shows. Once again, we are taken back to Rusty's late teen years in Cougar Ridge, in a sweet and nostalgic tale of Rusty's weekend job and his infatuation with his boss, Mrs Drew. The song also gives us an insight into how seriously Rusty took any job that he did, with the lyrics demonstrating his knowledge and love of ornithology.

Hey! Fantastic song! As a birder for 30 years, I approve. It really did something for my Dickcissel. It is rather similar to my upcoming ornithological tune, but with a different premise.

@@spindalis79 I have never heard of a dickcissel before. I feel disappointed that I didn't do just a bit more research, as I now feel I've missed an opportunity! Good luck with the song!

Strangely no mention of the Chough, sometimes spelled "Chuff"!

I'll make a note in case an opportunity arises in the future.

Rusty sure gets around. I keep thinking about a bird in the bush is better than (what?)

A bird in the hand is better than two birds in the bush but Rusty would service both the hand and the bush.
