B4 Rhythms
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 2 พ.ค. 2024
B4 Rhythms refers to music before (B4) the current day, music of the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. All of the lyrics for the songs are written by me, then I use the AI to create the music and vocals. I am from the UK, so a few of the terms may require a (very) descreet internet search if you are unfamiliar.
The inspiration for the songs are the "Carry On" films, the Ealing comedies, and films like "Porky's" and "American Pie". Also of course a lifetime of schoolboy humour, which I may grow out of one of these decades.
I like any song that is delivered deadpan with a double meaning - leaving the humour in the song to the listener. The gold standard for this in my opinion, is the song, "Skeet Surfin'" from the film "Top Secret". th-cam.com/video/af9N7UhTMA8/w-d-xo.html
They got Brian Wilson to help write it and parody his own sings - brilliant.

Peggys Pom Poms - Ray "Peepin" Tomm and the Backalley Observers
Released in 1967, this nostalgic tale of high school infatuation tells us of another of Ray's childhood sweethearts - Peggy, the head cheerleader at his high school. Like all of Ray's songs, this song takes us back to a more innocent and simple time.

มุมมอง 1.5Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Released in 1964, this song tells the tale of a lady named Sophia who played maracas in a travelling band, and the night when Ray saw her perform and fell in love. Unfortunately the track was mired in controversy due to a similarity in some of the lyrics to another artist's song, though Ray always insisted that he had written and performed an early version of the song in 1956.

Although generally known as a one-hit wonder for the song about her husband and love of her life, "Richard", Verity Cox did release a few songs before that, and this little-known hit from 1963 by Verity Cox & the Snake Charmers tells the tale of the cute farm boy, Calvin, that she had a crush in in her last year of high school, and the amazingly large rooster that he kept as a pet.

Former British punk-rock singer Violet Rage disappeared from the music scene in the late 70's, but after a messy divorce and a stint in rehab, she formed a new band, "Violet Rage & The Heart Smashers" and took on a wider range of musical styles, mainly centered on the relationships of middle-aged people. 😂🤣😂!!!!!!
Off the "Big Cojones" Album.
Yeah, well, I prefer the 1977 remake by Patti Pye and The Creams. And later, in 1985, Sandy Gash and The Four Slices did similar song that made it to Number 69 on the American charts, and Number 1 in the UK for over 7 weeks. Last year (2023), Curtains of Tuna did it again, and that version may be the best of all with its mix of Hip Hop and Techno. Life goes on.
@@theeclectic2919 🤣 did Sandy Gash once play with the Beach Boys?
@@B4Rhythms Yes. She was a backup singer on some of their recordings. In fact, they used to call her "The Backup B!tch" because of her attitude. She slept will all the band members just to make her boyfriend mad.
She Blinded Me With Science, Hit Me With Technology! (Thomas Dolby quote)
It must be lucky it was on show
@Tyler-j2v3f Definitely lucky for Ray.
I always have been a fan of that type of magical illusion.

Thank you! And of course apologies to fans of Dion & the Belmonts.

My opinion (and Rusty's) is that as a man, you should be grateful for what you get. 😀

*Actual Friend:* "There aren't any maracas in the music." *Me:* 😐😑😐
Unfortunately, Ray and his band don't play maracas themselves. When they recorded the song they tried to get a session musician just for that part, but were unsuccessful. Also, AI can be a real pain in the ar*e for ignoring instructions! 😉

I could be wrong, but I'm sensing some sort of subtext to this song.
@@Rangecrosoft 😂 Ray's lyrics were written for a more innocent time. 😉
@@B4Rhythms Yep. With how aggressively radio censored sexual references in general back in the day, you had to use subtext and double-entendre just to get shit across. And whoever the lyricist was did a damn superb job.
I can’t play the bongos, but I can appreciate a good set!
I love playing with big maracas.
Agreed, nothing like jiggling a big set of maracas.
Pioneers, with this timeless classic.
