[Felix Belford, one of Ray Tomm's ex-backing vocalists, is interviewed by a documentary crew at his homestead in Beaufort SC, 8 June 2004] PHIL SAYER: [....] We have it in our notes, you were formerly a session vocalist before you joined Ray Tomm's "Back Alley Observers" in 1962, and you accompanied him on his comeback tour in 1963. [...] What would you have seen of Tomm's personality in the recording booth?"
"I remember that working with Ray was a lot of fun. The hardest part was keeping him from talking to the press without pre-prepared answers because he had a tendency to phrase things in a way that could be misconstrued by some people. He's a funny guy, generous and always has time for the fans. Unfortunately, he liked the ladies a little too much and had a tendency to stare, so I was the one who came up with the idea of him wearing those dark sunglasses every time he was in public - they became like his trademark. People say that he stole the idea from Roy Orbison, but that's not true - we got him to wear them to make his staring less noticable."
The Melon industry was being deflated with the arrival of cheap foreign coconuts The discovery of Miss Honey at a road side stall in Tittsapeekie , Illinois brought a new peak to rreinflating the US melon business.
Ripe, juicy melons to make your mouth water. I don't see anything remotely dirty or offensive about these types of songs at all; many are simply a clever play on words. In any case, this one is better than the "microwave music" (auto tune/no talent garbage) being churned out nowadays! 😎
Thank you. I often say something at work, and my colleagues will take it as rude (which is how it was meant), which is when I quickly ask them what they thought that I meant, followed by, "Oh no, not like that, you've got a dirty mind!" I try to do the same with the song lyrics - any offense is in the mind of the listener.
Ths song is 💯💯💯💯
Covered in The Netherlands by Dutch vocal group Dick van Titten en de Jetsers.
