The 10mm stuff your using isn't much more powerful than a regular .40. Get some full house Underwood or Double Tap, one of the premium loadings. Their more in line with what a 10mm was originally designed to be. A 10 is a pretty powerful round in it's original load.

Lesson of the day if you have to shoot a bad guy through a cinder block wall have a rifle or a shotgun because you might not have any rounds left by the time you chew a hole in the wall with a handgun round. Although would like to see the difference of the results of both with the Underwood ammo.
Good call on the lone wolf 357 sig barrel. I've heard that the standard glock chambers are not fully supported and that high pressure rounds can have catastrophic failures because of this. The lone wolves have fully supported barrels and the compensator helps with the recoil of the light pistol. I'm gonna order one like that for my g23
Of course Glocks aren't bad at all. It's just if you compare Glock barrels to others they seem lacking. Take a look at the new cz strikers and you will see a massive amount of steel around the chamber. If I use +P ammo for self defense I want to practice with it on a regular basis and I don't know that I feel comfortable doing this with my Glock. I've always known this and am not complaining....just sayin. Got my 23c in 98 and have never regretted the purchase.
Nice shooting range. With the Glock 20 (and 29 I suppose) you can shoot quite a few different cartridges, including the 357 Sig, the 9 X 25 Dillon, etcetera. I would like to see the ballistics that both calibers can achieve out of the new six-inch barreled Glock 40, 10mm.
The 10mm Remington is loaded to 40cal ballistics ,if you want to see what a 10 mm can do,use buffalo bore or cor bon or double tap or underwood there are a few more, also that extended length on the 357 gun gives a bit more fps
I stopped watching after he showed the ammo. Besides, who cares? Both calibers are great no matter what ammo your using, as long as the 10mm isn't fbi lite.
Rockie mountin exacly he using a short barrel in 10mm he should used a glock 20 or 40 with federal throfe bond or underwoog ammo 1,350 to 1,400 fps and that will make a big diferent , but 357 is a powerful round too
Would have liked to see this comparison with full power cartridge for each caliber, like Underwood. I own guns in both calibers and shoot the brands in this video only at the range, but when the guns are loaded for real life, they have Underwood in them
On the subject of weak plinking ammo, I just checked the published velocities for these two products to see which is further from "full power". They are different brands, different markets, so the published data may be more "generous" for one than the other. .357 - AE357S2, 125 gr, 1350 fps 10mm - 23706, 180 gr, 1150 fps The 10mm in this case seems to be ~150-200 fps below full premium loads, as published, and the .357 ~100-125 fps below. Since the target here is concrete, I think they're close enough to indicate possible differences, though as usual the 10mm is "weaker-er".
There is NO comparison, hands down 10mm for the win every time! Those 10mm rounds aren't even loaded full power. A properly loaded 10mm round will compete with a 41 Magnum
Most commercial 357sig is also loaded way below original specs. But that's how it goes I guess-build a great round then underload it so it's more comfortable.
"A 9mm on steroids" kinda proves my point. The original 357sig was .357 inches or 9.02mm, but try to find that today. Manufacturers don't make it because why go through the trouble when they can just use a 9mm designed bullet that's only .355 inches? Not a huge difference, but what they cut from width they have to make up for in length, which cuts into case capacity and raises chamber pressure, forcing them to underload. When I carry my Sig, it's with 125gr (.355in) gold dots that average 1350fps. Cool, great, awesome...except that the 357sig can fire a 125gr bullet at 1550fps. Now that's only a 15% difference in fps, but if a cartridge is capable of more, why not load it to more?
That doesn't prove your point. LOL You just rambled on about nonsense. The .357 Sig is a 9mm bullet, they both use a .355 bullet the sig doesn't use a "9mm designed bullet", they use a 9mm bullet, period. There is no 9.02mm bullets, they don't convert exactly like that. ROFL A 10mm is the same bullet as the .40 S&W, they're not .393 bullets. HaHa The .357 Sig sucks to reload because of the wider casing than the bullet, hence why they might not be loaded to max, it's not because they want to make them "more comfortable"
10mm is a range ammo. The .357 sig is a carry ammo. It has less recoil than a .40, and more than enough punching power. It's controllable, and that makes all the difference for carry.
I OWN A COLT DELTA ELITE 10MM 1911 STYLE STAINLESS STEEL SIMI AUTO.THIS FIRE ARM IS SWEET TO SHOOT. I ENJOY ITS POWER SHOOTING AGAINST MY FRIENDS 45,40, 9MM.THEY SHOOT MY 10MM AND KNOW ITS GOT THE SAME BALLISTICS AS 357 MAGNUM.THIS GUN IS 30 YEARS NOW AND IS A JOY TO LOOK AT, ITS EYE CANDY.
I ordered a 10mm conversion barrel for my G41 from KKM should be here today. Along with a threaded 45 acp barrel to go with the Rugged Obsidian 45 that just got out of jail.
.357 SIG for personal defense and 10mm for deepwoods. The truth is anything generating 500-650ft-lbs is a definite one shot stop. Anything over that will come at the expense of follow-up shots.
You're not using equal Cross-sectional density between the bullets. The bullets need to be of equal Cross-sectional density and design in order for this to be a scientific experiment or study. If you're going to use a 180 grain 10mm, you should use the 147 grain 9mm or 357 sig for ballistic and terminal performance comparison. You should also have the same bullet designed and ammunition manufacturer. Per equal barrel length, bullet design, manufacturer, and Cross-sectional density, the 357sig has the same velocity, range, and penetration as the 10 mm. When comparing two different calibers, everything else needs to be the same except for the caliber in order for it to be a good scientific study.
+jr10 9x25 Dillon is soooo bad ass. Very tempted to go with that type of setup with my next Glock! G20 or even a G29 in 9x25 would leave no issues in regards to penetration and expansion for most rounds.
the 10mm is most effective with rounds at around 200gr like Buffalo bore? just one example I'm sure there are others and the American Eagle ammo isn't the best thing to put thru any gun for stat checking I would use the hottest for both and redo the test I bet the results will be more or close to the same
That is such a bogus concern. I could see worrying about that with a 500 S+W or something that big but the 10mm is comparable to a 357 mag which police used for years and a lot of civilians carry now.
Grow up, son! "Profanity proves neither toughness nor intelligence, only a lack of self-control, morals, maturity, language skills and character." -BLD
It would be interesting to see a Chronograph of each type of round. The 10mm has wide variations in ammo. There is the old FBI load which is equivalent to the .40 S&W and also the Norma Spec load which is a true Monster.
I see several problems with this video. First off the next time a cinder block attacks me I will lay down my Sig P320C in 357 sig and run up to the store and buy a 10mm. 2nd I don't know where you buy ammo for the 357 sig but I see you paid 39.95 a box. I buy this same ammo at a local gun store for 27.99. You must have told them you were a marine. I carry a P320 Sig in 357 Sig 7 days a week and im sure it will get the job done unless cinder block man attacks me.
What's so hard to understand about shooting through an intermediate barrier at a bad guy? Has nothing to do with being attacked by cinder block. Fanboi FAIL.
Hoffman's! I live less than 2 miles from there. Fellow Newingtonite. Been contemplating a .357 Sig barrel for my G22/17, but the ammo is so damn expensive I keep rethinking it.
BrassRainbow556 I am surprised at the cost also. I am happy as hell the city folk leave brass up at my range. got almost 300 pieces of brass for it but no gun. Maybe I'll pick up a SIG P220 10mm and get a 357sig barrel made for it :D
Frank Vittori Go with a G20 and give it a couple fine touches to the trigger, best modern platform for the 10mm. I know everybody has a preference for Sig or Glock, but the simple fact is that the G20 has remained the top 10mm platform since the early 90's, probably one of the most solid guns they make. The sig will have the hammer as expected, so the barrel won't be able to sit as low to the hand as the G20 (more muzzle flip, while the G20 is more of a rude shove straight back). Of course they offer a 6" longslide and the G29 subcompact if size is a problem, so many choices XD
i thought slow motivation was when there was battalion PT runs lol. there is a reason they issued 10mm to FBI agents. id love to see the slow motion recoils between the 2 pistols
i love my glock 33 357 sig...if i run across a glock 29 im grabbing it...yea maybe some bragging rights is part of the deal but also if im in the woods scouting and see a deer...i would feel better about the 10mm
Josh Teresa What grain round are you using to hit 1835 fps exactly? Sounds like some seriously high (and extremely dangerous) pressures for the 357sig.
Josh Teresa I would like to see that data as I am pushing the 135 gr 10mm just past 1600 fps and chamber support is a issue along with recoil spring's etc etc.
Well I obviously had to change recoil springs etc. Lone wolf threaded barrel the gun is tuned to the round zero issues in 300 rounds. no signs of pressure issues. Using power pistol powder wolf primers gun is a glock 22
On the federal premium ammunition site. American 🦅 50 rounds a box are $79.99 💯. Too damn expensive ‼️Makes me appreciate, 50 rounds of .357 Magnum loads 🤝
I thought the same thing. The G30 is a subcompact .45acp and the G29 is the subcompact 10mm. The gun he used is not a full sized G21(.45acp) or G40(10mm)
The 357 Sig finds itself in the same place 10mm was in 10 or 15 years ago. The 357 Sig round is fundamentally dead and is in need of a definite resurrection. It’s expensive as hell to shoot with other calibers offering the same or better firepower at a cheaper cost per round. There is no ballistic reason to shoot the round. I live in a large metropolitan city in Texas and our police department does not approve 357 Sig for duty carry because of the expense.. personally I carry a Glock 29 with Underwood ammo. But that also depends as the safe is full of other options. But I have never been tempted by a 357 Sig.
I shoot both.i carry a g32 357sig for ccw with 125gr sig v crowns and sometimes a delta elite with 180gr sig v crowns. But I've shot Underwood extreme penetrators from them and the 10mm most definitely penetrates farther and alot more energy.

Glock 21 Now I have the best of both worlds shoot 358sig,10mm,40super,45super,40sw,460 Roland Just to name a few. You got to love glocks.
Two different barrel lengths probably played a big role too.
sometimes i have slo-motivation when i have to get up for work in the morning
The .357sig is just a shorter weaker version of the 9x25 Dillon. Like what the .40s&w is to a 10mm.
"Slo-motivation"
He’s never fixed it. But marines are morons anyway.
We all know there are countless cinderblock monsters wait to jump out around every corner.
It is rampant.
Of all the "common" factory offerings, the Remington is not too bad. It's rated around 1150 FPS
+James Stevick it chronographs at 1080's
Rockie mountin exacly he using a short barrel in 10mm he should used a glock 20 or 40 with federal throfe bond or underwoog ammo 1,350 to 1,400 fps and that will make a big diferent , but 357 is a powerful round too
Really? Perhaps these 10mm offerings will prove more to your liking:
Sellier and Bellot 180 grain FMJ
Muzzle Velocity: 1164 fps
Muzzle Energy: 543 ft lb
Remington UMC 180 grain FMJ
Muzzle Velocity: 1150 fps

Prvi Partizan 180 grain JHP
Muzzle Velocity: 1083 fps
Muzzle Energy: 469 ft. lbs.
Federal American Eagle 180 grain FMJ
Muzzle Velocity: 1060 fps
Muzzle Energy: 449 ft. lbs.
Armscor 180 grain FMJ
Muzzle Velocity: 1150 fps.
Muzzle Energy: 529 ft. lbs.
PMC Bronze 170 grain JHP
Muzzle Velocity: 1200 fps
Muzzle Energy: 543 ft lbs
Hornady 180 grain XTP
Muzzle Velocity: 1180 fps
Muzzle Energy: 556 ft. lbs.
Freedom Munitions 180 grain FMJ
Muzzle Velocity: 1120 fps
Muzzle Energy: 501 ft lbs
Georgia Arms 180 grain FMJ
Muzzle Velocity: 1100 fps
Muzzle Energy: 484 ft lbs
Both of these cartridges are the baddest semi auto pistol cartridges available
Would have liked to see this comparison with full power cartridge for each caliber, like Underwood. I own guns in both calibers and shoot the brands in this video only at the range, but when the guns are loaded for real life, they have Underwood in them
Slo-motivation what is that?
Yoda I hear that!
Slo-motivation means Slow-Motion in English
I thought my audio was out in the beginning. Checking all the buttons, lol
On the subject of weak plinking ammo, I just checked the published velocities for these two products to see which is further from "full power". They are different brands, different markets, so the published data may be more "generous" for one than the other.
.357 - AE357S2, 125 gr, 1350 fps
10mm - 23706, 180 gr, 1150 fps
The 10mm in this case seems to be ~150-200 fps below full premium loads, as published, and the .357 ~100-125 fps below. Since the target here is concrete, I think they're close enough to indicate possible differences, though as usual the 10mm is "weaker-er".
Love the Slo-Motivation shots
There is NO comparison, hands down 10mm for the win every time! Those 10mm rounds aren't even loaded full power. A properly loaded 10mm round will compete with a 41 Magnum
Most commercial 357sig is also loaded way below original specs. But that's how it goes I guess-build a great round then underload it so it's more comfortable.
That's not true, .357 Sig is just a 9mm on steroids, they are loaded close to max from the factory. 10mm are way below max load from factory.
Josh M my 357 sig ammo travels over 2100 fps.
Storm Lake 45 acp to 10mm in a g30, did you have to change anything other than the barrel & mag?
Just the bsrrel
I only saw the video one time, but didn't you have a longer barrel for the .357 SIG?
Why do you put slow motivation instead of slow motion
whats louder a .357 sig or 10mm?
Great video. Semper Fi brother!
for some reason i found a 357 sig outside my house only the casing looked pretty new i dont even have one
The .357 ferry
10mm is a range ammo. The .357 sig is a carry ammo. It has less recoil than a .40, and more than enough punching power. It's controllable, and that makes all the difference for carry.
did you use hard cast ? 200 gr
In my opinion the 10 mm looks like a you get more penetration 357 sig you get more velocity both great rounds
G32 was my third purchase and I am now BIG on the SIG!
Is the 10 mm auto good for self-defense at home (no to take it on the street ), assuming you are training and could control the recoil ?
Definitely. G20 is comfortable and that’s the sub model
SGT Johnny USMC thanks a lot. It’s for home defense, I am thinking about.
What brand ammo are you using for 10mm and the 357 sig ?
Remington 10mm and America Eagle .357 Sig. It shows it at the beginning of the video.
+Timothy Harris Damn 40 bucks for a box of 357 sig use Sgammo cheapest prices ever 359.00 for 1000 rounds of Speer lawman 357 sig
Thanks Sargent
"Slo-Motivation?"
What part of that is tripping you up?
+SGT Johnny USMC I think he just lost the motion to explain it to you.
Ryan Tempel 😂🤣
wow! That Jay Leno ad was awesome. Thank god he wasn't hurt.
Drop the f-bombs, please. “That video didn’t have enough f-bombs” said no one, ever.
Fuck. I’m so fucking sorry.
Would have been nice to see the glock 31 357 sig full size
If you go with the 10mm, use full power 10 for actual defense, and shoot 40 S&W in it when just plinking. Cheaper and easier on the weapon.
Why did you say "err" at the end?
Wonder what a 10 mm necked down to a 9mm would be like, as far as ballistics ? Like maybe a 124 gr bullet ?
9x25 dillan
Nice video. If you ever get a chance to shoot some 9x25 Dillon ammo, compare that to 357 sig. I did a video on that. The 9x25 is a closer comparison.
+jr10 9x25 Dillon is soooo bad ass. Very tempted to go with that type of setup with my next Glock! G20 or even a G29 in 9x25 would leave no issues in regards to penetration and expansion for most rounds.
The .357 Sig is one fine cartridge!
Poor 357 sig you can show people you have just the same amount of destruction, but people still put ten way above the 357sig. Lol
the 10mm is most effective with rounds at around 200gr like Buffalo bore? just one example I'm sure there are others and the American Eagle ammo isn't the best thing to put thru any gun for stat checking I would use the hottest for both and redo the test I bet the results will be more or close to the same
That is such a bogus concern. I could see worrying about that with a 500 S+W or something that big but the 10mm is comparable to a 357 mag which police used for years and a lot of civilians carry now.
The most effective rounds in 10mm are the 165 grain and 180 grain projectiles. If you need heavier lead, choose a bigger caliber.
Good to know if I am ever attacked by cinder blocks
You arrrrgh correct
Grow up, son! "Profanity proves neither toughness nor intelligence, only a lack of self-control, morals, maturity, language skills and character." -BLD
TheFew TheProud easy now snowflake. If your offended that's your faulty decision making paradigm; go cry foul elsewhere.
It's "Marine".
What's so hard to understand about shooting through an intermediate barrier at a bad guy? Has nothing to do with being attacked by cinder block. Fanboi FAIL.
You tell 'em good now ya hear!
One word: Sledgehammer.
Hoffmans the Jew on the Berlin turnpike in newington ,, try target sports USA , in southington ct , 19.95 a box
Ballistics????
@ 0:45 was that the bullet coming back at you?
It was the jacket
Don't forget the 9x25 Dillion.
I highly recommend you check out a Glock 40 Gen 4 10mm MOS. They're sweet!
i thought slow motivation was when there was battalion PT runs lol. there is a reason they issued 10mm to FBI agents. id love to see the slow motion recoils between the 2 pistols
i love my glock 33 357 sig...if i run across a glock 29 im grabbing it...yea maybe some bragging rights is part of the deal but also if im in the woods scouting and see a deer...i would feel better about the 10mm
I have many guns but my glock 29 is my favorite. You can't go wrong with it and it definitely grabs attention at the range.
Fact: barrel length makes a significant difference. 10mm out of a 9" aftermarket barrel has the ballistics of a .41 magnum.
Great vid.
Thank you
very nice . would like to see the same test with hot loaded 357s and 10mm love both rounds. I have my 357 sig load pushing an avg of 1835 fps.
Thank's for the reply but would still like to see the data... I use blue dot for the 10mm
Josh Teresa
Still no answer as to what gr round you are using? That makes a big difference
very nice review!
Thanks for checking it out
Very nice
Semper Fi brother
On the federal premium ammunition site. American 🦅 50 rounds a box are $79.99 💯. Too damn expensive ‼️Makes me appreciate, 50 rounds of .357 Magnum loads 🤝
John you said Glock 30....that a 45 Auto not a 10mm...So what was the second round...did you realize you said Glock 30 instead of Glock 20
Aidan1226 its a 30 with a conversion barrel
When you hit a concrete block on the side it breaks, Not so much in the middle...
Got to go with the 9x25 Dillon the big brother of the 357sig. But very nice.
menger Vaj Finding ammo is way worse with the 9x25 lol, 357sig is the best option ammo wise ( out of those 2).
10 mm any day of the week all day long
thats some high speed slow motivation!
