The first album I remember hearing was 1970 Black sabath when I was 4 years old . Violent fems. (Bister in the sun). I saw them in concert in college around 97' ?? Living colour albums helped me through times growing up in the 90's Thanks for being you. You rock

Happy 100th video, you've certainly got an interesting and well cultivated collection here and I'm glad I got to come along for the ride! If you're taking recommendations, I'd highly recommend Death Church by Rudimentary Peni, it's a strange mix of the gothic, the punk, and the artistic and it was recently repressed on vinyl so nowadays you don't have to fork over a bunch of money to hear it on your stereo like I did years ago lmao

Kira 👏 👏 - Entroducing by DJ Shadow was my favorite album of 1996 ( 100% Samples ) Remain In Light is a classic & the last song " The Overload " borrows its mood from the last song on Unknown Pleasures " I Remember Nothing " .. Listen To Porcupine by The Bunnymen 🐰 .. the last three songs are the best ones. xx are cool & Faith is my favorite Cure album with great Bass by Simon & All Cats Are Grey a beautiful song. All The Best 👍 from a fellow Interpol , Smiths & Radiohead 🌈 fan 😀 ! Thank You Kira.

Happy 100th video! Always enjoy your reactions and watching you talk about your collection. I know you said King of Limbs is your least favorite Radiohead album, but how do you feel about the track 'Codex'? I always felt like it stylistically matched A Moon Shaped Pool more than the album it's on. Also looking forward to the Portishead reaction!
Congrats on the 100th video. Such a cool collection! Btw if you are up for it you can get a sound improvement by either move the speakers or the turntable so they are not on the same surface. The cartridge picks up vibrations from the speakers as well as from the record. This usually blur the sound. My solution would be to place a shelf on the wall for the turntable right above where it is now placed. It almost doesnt change the look and it will be decoupled from the surface and vibrations from the floor as well
Yea I don’t have space in my room to place my speakers or player elsewhere, but what a great idea to put a shelf right above for my player!! I am renting so I can’t nail anything into the wall. But I have hooks around a metre above .. so i might hang some shelves from there & move my speakers up

OMGG i loveeeeee ur collection. From the black sabbath paranoid (also my fav black sabbath album so far) to the charli xcx to the denzel curry & freddie gibbs. And the brubeck quartet and radiohead obviously!! And then ofc so many classics too wow amazing amazing amazing!!
I also have the nas and led zeppelin IV one on vinyl loveee those records

You should (if possible) get those speakers spread out a little more, depending on the size of the room you're in. You'd be amazed how much better it sounds - with wider stereo separation and a greater soundstage. Its possible you're limited on space or have other factors at play, but its something to keep in mind for the future.
Yea in my old place I had the space to separate everything out and it was great, but right now I don’t have the liberty 😭

Good video. I have vinyls from back in the 1970-80’s. I even have 8-track tapes too. 45 and cassette’s too.

Use the arrow button that lifts up the tone arm and move the tone arm to the 10 inch and press the arrow bottom on the lp60x

I started with Vinyl Christmas 2020 and am at ~230 records (rough estimate off the top of my head). it's soo glorious and I always get a dopamin kick out of it 🤩🤩🤩. (💸💸💸)

I have 4 of those. Ra Ra Riot was one I had to get, The Water. Picked up Eurogliders, Can't Wait to See You. Last RSD I found a re-issue Depeche Mode which was a great deal. I need some Smiths, but the record store closed and makes me nervous to buy online for them. Green REM I ruined the cassette! You have to play them.

👌👌👌 Adrianne Lenker has an amazing voice I've got a few Big Thief albums (Paul probs one of my favourites tracks ever!) but don't have any of her solo projects yet.
R.E.M I highly recommend one of my my favourite albums of all time is there In Time compilation album from 2001 recommend checking it out!
Songs & instrumentals is the bomb! But I don’t like her first album very much. Excited to check out more R.E.M. 😌
You have got to listen to closer by joy division its there best album imo If you haven't already and I recommend you listen to and buy more beatles albums revolver and Abbey Road are classics also you should check out pusha t daytona one of the best hip hop albums of the 2010's
I have mostly listened to Unknown Pleasures & Substance when I went through my JD phase. I don’t remember much from Closer so it could do with another spin. I reeeally want Revolver on record ! And yes I love Daytona by Pusha T.. never seen it in stores unfortunately 🥺

I agree about that Doors cover. I'm not a fan of those bare chest rock star photos and film of the late 60s and 70s. Some macho thing that rubbed me the wrong way. It was a fad and fashion I could have avoided.

It's the second time I'm listening to it, I think it's a fantastic album; It seems to me that Cool Jazz is the perfect introduction to such a complex genre.

Hi! Speaking from another hot country, you may be harming your vinyl with those plastic covers. They evaporate over time, even in colder climates, passes through the paper covers and get to the vinyl. And it’s irreparable. 😢
I can see yours are a bit shrunk, which is a strong sign they’ve been through heat and released plastic gas

yea legit, majority of the records i inherited from my auntie were by men (smiths, cure, JD, DEVO). then my top 5 favourite bands are all white men due to me emulating my dad's taste in music (interpol, radiohead, QOTSA, etc). i've slowly started buying new female artists i dig but it's a long road
