    Nearly 200 records is still a sizable collection, it's not small by any means! And the main thing is that you love what you have. Seeing the price of them grow and grow is such an insane feeling!

      true ! it definitely depends on perspective, because i'm used to other vinyl videos like this where their collection is huge lol

    Auntie here...oh Kira I love hearing you talk about your record collection. Some of the information you shared blew me away $$$. I remember your Dad and I travelling into Prahran and the City often, checking the latest releases. I am pretty sure many of the records I gave you were hardly played, I was more of a collector. I still listen to the top 3, on cd, and never tire.. You paying tribute to some of the best bands in the world is where it is at, I am glad you made the space in your home and heart, well done on your achievements! One proud Aunty.

      Awww thank you what a lovely comment Jacqui!! I mention you in my videos so often hehehe 😅 so grateful. I think I’m also more of a collector rather than a player. I love going shopping with Dad especially, he’s a great music buddy. I hope I’ll be able to film more videos soon when I move back in with Mum next week :) see you soon!

I enjoy reading all the words from your followers, you have built such a lovely community, covering every dog breed. It is a refreshing change! Looking forward to many more of you talks. Aunty...)

    Something I discovered in the past year about the discogs values that you may or may not know about: if you click on the date next to last sold you can see the listings that sold and what they sold for.

    Really thoughtful to put the USD values too! The best thing my auntie gave me was an original US Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazelwood, a $10 record. 😂

    Nice touch including USD and GDP, very much appreciated by this Brit.
    I also have that copy of Surfer Rosa, weirdly I've ended up with 4 different pressings of that album. I don't tend to even double dip but that somehow happened lol.

    Nice list! I definitely need to check out The Cure it’s been suggested to me a bunch but I’m shamed to say I’ve never given them the proper sit down and listen treatment 😅

    My top five are all original 1990's records (Oasis, Cocteau Twins, Primal Scream, Suede and Prince). I'd love the "Surfer Rosa" album. It's absolutely brilliant.

    Hello Kira 🌞 ! I saw The Pixies open for The Cure in 1989 & I saw The Pixies open for The Cure in 2019 , kinda cool. Looking forward to the new & final Cure album in April. Sounds like Disintegration & Wish .. it's going to be a proper goodbye.

    Hi Kira, Great video! I'm happy for you. I'm surprised that the albums in your top 10 are worth as much as they are. Yet, those albums are very much are favorites of mine, for sure. What is the value of Louder than Bombs by the Smiths?

    • @kirawasadiver
      @kirawasadiver  ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks Victor!! Louder Than Bombs actually comes in as the 12th most valuable record i have... thank you so much !! median is 83AUD

    Hi Kira, nice top ten👍a bit jealous of your Australian Smiths collection😊. You were wondering if Disintegration were released in Australia, and there is an OG 1989 Australian edition of the album, valued about the same as your US copy. If in doubt, you can always filter 'country' searching on Discogs, and you'll see if there is an OG Australian copy of an album for instance.

    • @kirawasadiver
      @kirawasadiver  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i wonder why my auntie ended up with the US one for that album!! weird!

    • @perchristensen8962
      @perchristensen8962 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kirawasadiver A possibility could be that in 1989 the CD sales exploded comparing to LP's, therefore fewer pressed "local" vinyl copies. I'm from Denmark, and it wasn't unusual for some Danish recordshops to import LP's from the UK and the US for instance, you know the big markets, with a higher volume of pressed copies.

  • @mistery-ed7900
    @mistery-ed7900 ปีที่แล้ว

    That was fun to watch!
    My most valuable records have never sold or aren't on discogs. Also I have records that have only sold once so the low, medium and high are all the same. That's the case with a 45 by Thee Midniters who were an East LA garage/soul band in the 60s. $400 is what it sold for much to my surprise. I bought it for like $5. There's an album I have that someone is trying to sell for over $1000 and it sounds like it is barely playable. My copy is VG+ with a M- cover. Value? Who knows?
    Keep collecting and keep getting surprised!

    • @kirawasadiver
      @kirawasadiver  ปีที่แล้ว

      yea some 'median' prices on discogs are not totally accurate.. it's sorta annoying. i can definitely see with a collection of your size that you'd have a lot of records that do not have accurate values on discogs. ooof i'd be so interested to know the true value of your collection. 100k??

      Over that on discogs. I know it's more than my house and property. I'll probably never really know since at least a quarter of my records have no history of sales.
      I was looking yesterday at Velvet Underground and Nico. Long ago I had a early pressing and in the 70s I traded it for a new copy. Dumb me! It's sold for almost $2000. Live and learn.

    unfortunately now that everything is getting reissued , the early pressings lose value. Ive watched value on some of my records fluctuate up and down over the years.

    My most valuable is also The Cure, but Bloodflowers, first european press. Medium 337,38. But I really don't care, coz I would never sell this.
