I've had cockatiels for 40 years now and its amazing how each of them has their own way of expressing themselves. I currently have a 26 year old male and a 15 year old male. Not only are their tunes unique but so are their personalities. The 26 year old has always been a crochity old man and the younger one has a laid back personality. My very first cockatiel was a sweet little lady who lived to 21. She passed in 1998 and I still miss her terribly. Its amazing how attached you get to these remarkable birds.
Theresa Atkins I can only imagine how strong the sense of loss must be, they have so much personality, they become members of the family. Sorry about your first cockatiel, though I’m sure you gave her a great life!
Theresa Atkins My cockatiel Captain black is going crazy listening to this video he loves it. So sorry for your loss, (wow amazing the years they lived) we recently lost our female tiel Lemonade beautiful Lutino, her partner Captain B has recovered, he is a survivor and easily adapts I am lucky he is stronger than me lol! Some birds never get over losing their bonded partners, they were so close, Lemonade cleaned out Captain's nostrils, which was a huge help, now I have to work out how to clean them, currently watching videos lol , wish me luck as he lunges at me haaaa! :)
I love cockatiels. I had one when I was a teenager. They sing so beautifully! They're amazing. I loved hearing our bird sing. I hope he's in bird heaven or something. He gave us a lot of joy or at least me.
I'm absolutely sure he's enjoying himself minimum as much where he is now as he did when he was still alive and I'm also completely sure he's visiting you very often and wishes you all the best!
Yeah some one said a car alarm but I recognized the firstish bird call he makes even though he screws it up a little but I live in Canada and there is a bird that makes that call every morning at the same tempo and pattern. He literally must be an early bird.
I play this for my Chirpy every single day. Sometimes on repeat. He thinks this little guy is his friend. Chirpy gets so excited and chatty. Thank you for posting. 😊
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. What a precious baby you have there. Your so lucky. My bird name is Heaven. She's all white and rare. I love her so much. I am training her to talk and it really takes time to get them happy and playful.
That was so cute and funny, it’s like he knew he was performing! I love happy cockatiels walking around and singing, and the pecking on the couch was so cute too. What an amazing tiel! So jealous, I want one so bad!
My cockatiel went through a similar act when he wanted me to whistle to him, pretty close to the same calls even. When I'd whistle he'd stop, move closer and put his ear towards me by cocking his head then try to repeat what I said. I miss him.
Wow that is some rather exotic singing that he is doing, I have a large flock of about 70 cockatiels and none of the males are even near that great in their singing, thanks for posting this.
@@LaGollum7A That bird is way to expressive to be a female. I understand why you see that though. The plumage that don't show gender don't often establish until they're full adults. This one is still a juvenille, but willbe adult soon. Notice the feather coat isn't quite full yet, especially around the face. If that bird is a female it would be the most expressive one I've seen by a long shot. You may occasionally get a few songs out of a female but most won't learn to sing. They're not the friendliest to start with. My younger brother hand raised one from a hatchling and all it did was sit in its cage silently, lay eggs and hiss.
Sorry for my absence. My cockatiel is now a grown up man :-p He is 3 years and 2 months old. He was 6 months old when i recorded this. He is without a mate. For those asking what to do to make their cockatiels trust them... spend time with them, show you care and love them. Every bird has it's own unique personality. Don't know what's the song playing in the background (try with soundhound, shazam). I'd like to thank everybody for your kind words :-)
He's adorable! His whistling is very unique. I have a 22 year old male cockatiel, Romeo, who is still doing reasonably well. It's true that cockatiels are very sociable birds who thrive on special care and attention.
My Cockatiel loves this video . Every single time I play it she gets so happy. She tries to do the things this bird does. I dont know why but she loves this video so so much.
Your cockateil has such a beautiful bird song. I'm trying to play this a lot so mine learns it because he's a real screamer lol but he copies everything including our sneezing.
I just got a male that has been moved between several different owners. He will have a forever home with me but he's not very vocal. I play this video and he will start to whistle. I think it relieves some of his stress
Had a hand raised baby Cockatiel, he used to listen to this silly South Park business card holder and learned all of Eric Cartmans signature lines. Such a sweet little guy he was.
I love this video, I love how comfortable and friendly your male cockatiel is, he's just hanging out serenading you all. I am getting a female in a few months, and I can't wait to socialize with her and get her to be just as friendly as your handsome little male here. Kudos and I hope you continue to enjoy him. :D

It's pretty adorable to watch my love bird and my cockateel respond to this. I have the video cast to the TV, and they're setting here watching it, and singing along❤
Very cute! However, he sounds a lot like those birds that start chirping at 5am, or before, and then I can't go back to sleep. hahaha Cockatiels are so sweet.
+Rider4ZMusicVideos sounds like actual birdcalls (like from songbirds)! maybe they played videos of birds chirping for him, or he learned to mimic birds outside.
Yeah I live in Canada and the first bird Call he makes is a bird I always here first thing in the morning at the start of spring and fall and they sing in the exact time and tempo. He must wake up really early with his owner and then listens to all the birds that sing in turn until the crows, eagles and hawks become active.
I played this video for my cockatiel ,Taco, and he looks like he is studying the sounds the other bird is making. Hopefully he can play these sounds in a few days or so :D

What made it even cuter was the bird pecking the couch, walking around, and looking over the edge to see whats at the bottom.
He is "drumming". If it had been a hard surface we would hear the tapping sound they make.

I love cockatiels too very much, and all parrots too

Wow, really unique voice on him! Cute !
So cute :D This makes my cockatiel chirp like there is no tomorrow.
I really LOVE watching him/her and listening to all the different sounds he makes.. Fascinating!! :D
Mine bangs her beak like that too on the cage/perch before whistling her melody.
From what i understand, at least for my cockatiel, that way he expresses his happiness :-)
It's a female, look at the tail :)
A bit more than that. He's trying to 'woo' you. See the way he is holding his wings in the shape of a heart? He's in love.
Same here for both my cockatiels, aspecially the female one

I think the bird is mimicking a song bird possibly a finch of some sort. Cute.
I love his rhythm, It's almost like a Spanish effect. My cockatiel is listening intently to this.
