    New to a job, never done anything to CAD except for read-only and my position now is doing 3D scans of damms and streams through Civil 3D. This guide is soooooo helpful to just see the diffrent tools I see others on my job use and now I understand more how to make it work. Will be checking more videos out for sure! A big program to handle but boy it helps you and make some really cool products of the data I give to it.

    Nothing here on storm water management, pressure pipe design, wastewater design, etc. All wonderful tools of Civil3D, albeit some little issues Autodesk haven't dealt with (having to override line types in settings for example for thin walled pipes).

    We are really far away from what you teach.

    • @JeffBartelsCAD
      @JeffBartelsCAD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Greetings Sergio! Civil 3D certainly contains a lot of features. A strategy I recommend is to explore one new concept or workflow per month. (Many of the 6-8 minute Civil 3D videos I've created for this channel could serve as a resource for ideas.) Each new skill you acquire will help improve efficiency, and provide a larger personal "toolset" for modeling future design challenges. The more you explore, the easier and smoother things get. One day in the near future you may even wish to create videos to share what you've learned with others. :) Best wishes on your continued success!!

    Jeff 1:15:12 For the Returns Assembly the grade is set to -2%. Since the crown of the road is typically higher than the edge or road does this setting matter? I'm assuming the target will change this grade to a +2% to center of road

    Great Sir I Have a Question ?
    I Have a BOQ One Infrastructure Project Which Include of Different Type Roads .
    1:- Item of BOQ Called Clearing & Grabbing Which We Need To Calculate in Squair Meter. After We Calculate Road Volume ( Cut & Fill ) We Show Volume Table in Section .But in Section AutoCAD Civil By Default Show Cut Area & Fill Area in Table .
    We Need to Show in Section Volume Table ( Which Top Right Side In Section) Fill Area Width In Each Section.
    How Can We Do This in AutoCAD civil 3 ?
    Because I calculate It Manual Which is Very Time Consuming. First Export AUTOCAD File Then Measure Manual Fill Width .
    Please Make A Detail Video Which Setting We Use it.
    I hope You Understand it My Problem !
    Thanks For Advance !

    Great video as always. Maybe if this was out back in the day, I would not have any student loan debt today. Anyway, the intersection wizard can be a bit of a doozy IF the program does not build the corridor correctly. You definitely need to understand the relationship between the subassembly components and their respective targets.

    • @JeffBartelsCAD
      @JeffBartelsCAD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Open the Properties Palette and drag it to the middle of your screen. Rt-Click on the palette's "title bar" and choose "anchor left" from the menu. (This will anchor the palette to the left side of your screen) If it doesn't appear as an icon, then Rt-Click on the palette's name along the left margin and choose "Icon only" from the menu. From now on, each palette you anchor to the left side of the screen will appear as an icon. Hope this helps!
