So....this morning I had gone to my shelves and painstakingly selected TWO books to unhaul to a Little Free Library. I was feeling so proud of myself because I do indeed having a problem letting go of books... resulting in 2000+ books on my shelves. I drive across town humming because I am in control of my book problem..I whistle up the path to the Little Free Library...open the door...and meet with defeat because there were THREE books (a series) which I have been wanting to read...So my good intentions actually caused my library to grow 😐
I can’t begin to tell you how much I absolutely love this!!! It’s why I like you my friend! Also you have over 2000 books!!!!!! When I can come over and browse your shelves?! 😂
@@jthbooks @musicroom7185 that is awesome, I don't know how many I have currently but I'm sure I'm approaching the 2000 mark soon lol. I'll have to start unhauling one of these days.

Great job outpacing the number of new books acquired. I have unhauled 60 so far this year, with 50 more in my read or unhaul stacks for 2024. I want to unhaul 150 by the end of the year. More room would be nice, but mainly I am trying to weed out the "meh" books on my shelves. I want books I want to read for the first time or see myself re-reading. If I buy more than 100 books this year, I will unhaul a book for each.
I use the Little Free Libraries in my area a lot, so I will get rid of more while I get more, but then after reading, I put them back in a LFL.
That’s exactly what I want to do, outpace the books I bring in. And unhauling can be kinda fun! 😂
There really does come a time when the meh books have to go because those new books that come in could be new favourites! 😊

I'm not a massive re-reader and I really don't have much space so I can be quite brutal when the mood takes me. I still have way too many physical books as I always seem to reach for a kindle book! Well done for getting rid of what you have!!
