@RM3103 the reason he crosses his feet is because his opponent's elbow is raised. Anytime their arm is raised you can control their upper body with your feet crossed under the triceps area. Key is that once you break the grip then uncross your feet.
Believe it or not it's actually easier to stack and run away with the face turned away. The Pressure it amazing! So good that after this seminar one of our purple belts tried it on Ryron in a live roll and ALMOST got it. To the point where Ryron complemented him on how well it worked.
I would assume one escape would be to roll into the guy on top, as the leg goes over your head .. and force the elbow to the ground.. but will need to check it out.. beautiful technique, thanks for the video
@brfelo They also commonly spar with one person practicing jitz and the other with boxing gloves, they also train a way larger amount of standup, wristlocks, escapes and throws than BJJ schools, they also have pretty unique grading requirements and also have a unique philosophy on sparring, GJJ is just different, even if you would like to generalize it
awesome technique.. gonna make it part of my game :) since the armbar i got from side is a little bit different, good to have variations :) ! thanks alot
@RM3103 Here's the deal. If you have the far arm included like the video, it makes the position stronger and harder to escape with the legs crossed. If the far arm is under your legs, you should absolutely not cross your legs. Not surprisingly, in this case the 5th degree black belt was right, and you are wrong. Have a nice day.
@RM3103 Crossing the feet prevents the oponent rolling out of the armbar ... There is no right or wrong Jiu jitsu.. THAT IS THE BEAUTY OF IT ... some things work for different people and some dont ... It doesnt really matter how long you have been training.. everyone is free to give their own opinion, there is always an escape
It's awesome that he's gotten so many repetitions on this move that he can execute it with perfect technique, And with a consistent order without a partner even having to be there lol he was like a freakin mime with that
Can this same technique be done from knee on belly if the opponent keeps their arms tight? or would it be better to drop to side mount first and then execute this one?
@brfelo Well I have been training 50 years and am related to a Gracie, statements like that don't mean anything here. The moves are similar but the objectives, goals, training style and syllabus are different at the GJJA than BJJ schools. Most BJJ schools don't have a strong self-defense emphasis, if they have one at all
ill take the gracie challenge soon lol, jk, much respect i have for what they brought, my instructors train under wander braga who train with the gracies.
10th planet juijitsu kas an arm crush for when the guy is really strong with two hands. BJJ has the same move but you can locate it looking at 10th planet.
@rm3103 Dude, that's Ryron Gracie, he KNOWS better than you, unless you have evidence otherwise. Gracie Jiu Jitsu is its own thing, they train much different than Sport Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Two thumbs up! Very very nice vid, looking forward to more.
Beautiful technique brother.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
That ghost armbar demonstration was a thing of beauty 🙏🥋
Very nice. Can't wait to try it.
tried it on a purple belt, and me being white belt he didn't see this coming at all and I tapped him out. It was quite awesome. Thanks for the vid.
holy moly. that's the shit right there haha.

Good start for the spiderweb too.
Thank you. Test it tomorrow.
Powerful Ryron! I love this sneaky one
Delete this secret
Very nice. Thanks.
Crossing the feet in this manor, like others have said in this thread prevents the person from turning away, not getting the elbow to the mat.
@jagmd Sorry, that was @ BrFelo.
awesome technique.. gonna make it part of my game :) since the armbar i got from side is a little bit different, good to have variations :) ! thanks alot
when he grabs his hands, what do i have to do??
Hell yeah I'll have fun with it!
Question..... Why do you weave the arm thru twice? Like he does here ..... /watch?v=G0cb8Q9Kgno&feature=player_detailpage#t=200s
This is why I train in this art.
So, what if he isn't wearing a gi?
Combatives are for brand new people. Against skilled opponents more complex knowledge becomes necessary.
Flawless

Beautiful.
Whats up with the audio in many of your videos? it gets mute from time to time.
love it!!!!!!!
awesome technique enough said.

LOVE IT. thank you!
I'm looking for a move where you do a triangle choke like movement on the arm following an arm bar defense, do you know which one I'm refering to?
Yeah its called bicep cutter/slicer from armbar.
Can this same technique be done from knee on belly if the opponent keeps their arms tight? or would it be better to drop to side mount first and then execute this one?
@OneBigBAMF No, he can't - try it with a training partner and you'll discover why.
great bite sized moves thanks
Just need to convince my brother to let me practice on him now lol
I think you are on track and continue your vision quest as the star gaising jaguar approaching the summit.
cool
@brfelo

Keeping it playful
brilliant! I'm a judoka but I want take some BJJ soon enough.
I pulled my groin just watching this video. I love BJJ, but if you're not flexible, some of these moves can be a bit challenging.
evolve749 : I pulled my groin watching this vid too. It felt so good I pulled it again.
evolve749 Stretch
ill take the gracie challenge soon lol, jk, much respect i have for what they brought, my instructors train under wander braga who train with the gracies.
3:20 It would be more effective to have the right leg over left but if he is tapping out a street fighter, It doesn't matter

siempre he dicho que no todo lo que hay en internet es creíble, mucho menos funcional.
Osss
The elbow can't lift easily
chiku If you use your leg to lift it, the person can’t really fight that much leverage.
We need gracie in mexico mexican are great warriors
But we need good trainers
@rm3103

@richandgaz Don't break his arm. lol
He's a beginner. Little dog barks the loudest.
