    Roger Gracie submitted Buchecha. That's in of itself is mind blowing. Then the rest of his accolades are insane. Truly the GOAT.

    • @SalmanBJJ
      @SalmanBJJ ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not only that it was their 2nd match. In the first match Buchecha performed well and "almost" got an arm-bar and ultimately the match was a draw.

    Roger strength is knowing all the possible defence, and shutting them down as he progresses for an attack, he is so good that he simplified his decision making to the most basic approach. Yet, if he didn't explain the moves, we would not have understood his decision making process. GOAT👍

    The detail when mounting and having the shin go over their bicep then sitting back and cupping the elbow as you slide your leg it. It is little details like this done at a high level that make him the best. There are no blackbelt moves just moves done with blackbelt level details.

    The favorite side control position for Roger is knee near the elbow, but I imagine that in this position, the pressure is much less strong for the opponent. Personally I prefer the position with outstretched leg to increase my pressure control

    • @michaeldubery3593

      I seem to have more luck with heavy chest to chest pressure, as well. When I concentrate on blocking the hips the squirrelly guys tend to start to build frames and create too much space.

    • @muhammadkamil3558
      @muhammadkamil3558 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chrisbaldwin3148 what OP described (heavy chest to chest pressure with knees off the ground) is something I learnt from a Roger black belt. I also prefer that position since the crossface usually makes them react or open up their arms.

      Yep, Bernardo tried a new and novel way to keep him from mounting ("let's talk about side control"), STILL didn't work! Think of other places Roger can probably find mount from:
      Doctor: O.k. lets take a look at your back to check that cut...Roger turns in and faces him, and passes straight to mount!
      God: kneel before my might...Roger mounts him
      etc...

    • @dylanmorgan2752
      @dylanmorgan2752 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yh but equally it was how to maintain side control. Sometimes the only way to maintain pressure without losing position is to advance to mount.
