    Boy, the parts about 1) training with the rest of the class using 15 round (plus) mags (Glocks, et al) and 2) the wear over the years of shooting 45’s is exactly where I’m at. Plus, 9 has become the standard issue, so it just makes sense. But I’m having a difficult time giving up my 1911... “the answer”. Thanks for this series.

    Hilton, what are your thoughts on using “aftermarket” magazines with Staccato? I ask because I have a brand new Staccato C DUO, and I’m considering the Wilson Combat 9 round magazines. These would be my “EDC” magazines. I love the idea of the little additional length, and increased magazine capacity. Thanks brother! 🤜🏻🤛🏻

    • @108Performance
      @108Performance  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Matthew Kane The C is just a 1911 derivative so any quality mag will work. The Wilson ETM’s are top quality and would be fine.

    Hilton, great video...... so you prefer the magwell removed? Is there any issues that arise with the magwell off from a shooting standpoint?

    • @108Performance
      @108Performance  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The mag well adds bulk and I'm trying to see how I do without it so that I can try to carry it once holsters arrive. Reloads are still quite fast, and my hands don't even touch down by the bottom of the frame so I don't notice it's gone.

    How long can one expect the tight frame to slide fit to last with regular shooting?

    • @108Performance
      @108Performance  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends a lot on ammo, lube/cleaning of gun, initial fit of the gun. Slide/frame fit is largely a feel and prestige thing, it doesn't really affect accuracy or function in a meaningful way (on a properly built gun).

    In this video you are talking about the "P" but does the all machined tool steel components (no MIM or cast) apply to all the Staccatos? I am asking the question late since I just got a limited edition C2 and am also looking at getting an XC. Appreciate and enjoy your videos.

    How would you recommend dry fire training with these guns? Would that destroy the tolerances over time even using good quality snap caps? Just curious because some day I’d like to pick one of these up.

    • @108Performance
      @108Performance  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No need to use snap caps. Dry fire away as much as you’d like. At the height of my training, I figure I’m getting 10 or more dry fire reps on the gun for every live round fired. Not cleaning/lubing the gun does far more wear than dry fire.

    • @108Performance

      Sneed Collins not quite as a 9mm 1911 is heavier than the 2011, holds half as many rds, and requires careful mag selection.

    I hate to say this but the Staccato is not really hand fit. Particularly in the very important fire control system. (Hammer/Sear, disconnector, trigger bow. Yes they are put in by hand, as all 1911's are regardless of cost or manufacturer unless someone uses robotics to do it. Not likely, but even though the are tool steel parts, (Hammer/Sear) they are not fitted. No dressing of the engagement surfaces whatsoever.
    Very disappointing to find this in Staccato's at such an elevated price point. I would love to see them take the time and effort building their guns as they do putting in the time and effort of blatant advertising on the tube. I've never seen such an intense marketing campaign before. Hundreds of vid's on them, many guns given for the review. Fishy to say the least!
    If you are knowledgeable in 1911/2011 type platforms and finish the work they skipped, the warranty is now void. Borders on slimy to down right crooked!
