Excellent video, thank you. I have just purchased a lovely machine that has been well looked after and it's a pleasure to see how others use them. Can I just offer a couple of suggestions to add to your wonderful video? 1. When threading the bobbin, don't forget to loosen the 'stop motion screw' in the middle of the balance (hand) wheel. This will disengage/declutch the needle mechanism and stop the needle operating when you are filling your bobbin. 2. When threading the machine, don't forget to hook your thread UNDER the 'thread guide' AFTER the tension spring (after time 3.47 in your video) before you thread through the take up lever (time 3.57). The thread guide is that silver hook in front of the tensioner (yes, it will still function well but the thread guide is there for a reason and is particularly important when guiding 2 threads as this machine does beautiful twin needle stitching). Obrigado!
Thank you so much for adding that info. IT was hard to watch the needle work on the feed dogs without fabric under the machine. I consider my 206 a heavy duty machine, always take my heavy projects to it.
Excellent spoken English. I'm Brazilian. You speak slowly and it helps to understand better. For Brazilians who are learning English, those who speak in English very quickly are difficult to understand. I love SInger sewing machines 206, 306 and 319K. My Singer sewing machine is 319K..
Hi, Kelly! I recently got a singer 306k sewing machine from my nephew who bought it from an elderly neighbor for very little. It hasn't been used for years and was in sad shape. I cleaned it up some and oiled. The belt was broken from age and sitting in an old house. I ordered a belt. My husband also has been trying to help me. We installed the new belt. Everything is stiff that normally would move easily. The wheel barely will move, the bar that goes up and down with the needle in it will barely move. The motor will run but will only turn well when you loosen it for loading the bobbin. I would appreciate your opinion on if it could even be fixed. Thanks. Janice from Arkansas USA
Okay Janice..about the stiffness, like you said earlier, age and not being used caused it.so to make it o freely move, you need to oil it properly which you said you did.. Firstly, you need to open the machine top oil the wheel shaft, all the way from the wheel to the needle bar Secondly, check underneath for any rust and apply anti-rust especially the bobbin/shuttle part .then open it up and check if there's rust on the gears
Thanks, Kelly! We will keep oiling and checking for rust and crud. Also, the new belt is a little loose and I saw in other messages that you can adjust that with a screw on the motor, or near it. Really appreciate you taking the time. Janice from Arkansas USA
Hola kelly mi maquina esta fuera de tiempo usted puede hacer un video para repar ese punto soy de habla española a ver si se puede en espsñol no hablo ingles gracias y saludos ❤
I have yet to find a video that explains the additional knobs where you go from straight to zigzag. I’m speaking of the small silver nut on the left of the brown round knob and the three designs that are under the left middle and right lever. I’m also having trouble right now, trying to get the tension right. I have both the users manual and the adjusters manual. It’s just strange to me that nobody covers the areas I just mentioned.
@@bondmachines I have tried practically all afternoon yesterday trying to get the tension even. Sometimes the top looks perfect and the bottom is all nested up. I have the gadget that determines the 1 ounce standard for the bobbin case tension so that is set like it should be the other thing and I was taking note on your video is where the pressure knob on top left should be. I can’t find anything that shows an example of where that should be so I’m going by what your video is showing. It looks like the threads are showing about 3/4 of an inch, so I’m gonna use that as a guide. As mentioned, I don’t know what those three stitch patterns are on that round knob and how it all has to do with everything else included on the knob. Do you think you can do a video of maybe removing the knob and showing maybe how to possibly clean it up. Actually, anything about the big round knob would be helpful. Thanks for responding!

Wouldn’t you turn the clutch wheel so the needle doesn’t move when you wind the bobbin?
@@ShiftingSands57 yeah.. You're right!

Yeah, you can adjust the belt,by loosening the screw that holds the motor, and bringing it down, then tighten
Singer Sewing Machihe 206, 306 e 319 are super machines.
Good afternoon, tell me what is the size of the drive belt in the car Singer 306m. Thanks a lot.
You can check online.. also any belt can fit, just adjust the screw that holds the electric motor to the machine
I'm a bit confused with the 306k models. Some can use pattern discs and others don't it seems. I wonder why this is?
Yeah true
my 306W has discs to use for different stitches. They are a flat black disc also used on other Singer machines. Not the tophat discs.
merci!!!!
Beautiful!

Okay...I understand what you mean..I guess I will have to do a video regarding that..and about the tension, what's the issue with it?
