I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and started this diet on Friday, by Monday my blood came back in normal range- not diabetic! Yes, folks, it can happen that fast! I never went back to my crappy way of eating and never went back into diabetes! Just DO IT!!
Two types of beans 2 cups Pink lemon squeeze to liking Red onion 1/2 cup Cucumber 1 Mango 1 Rice vinegar 2 Tbsp Mint leaves Can add spice powders Can add olive oil
She said not to add olive oil or sesame oil as they tend to have more calories than carbohydrates and proteins. She would rather eat nuts and seeds to complement the salad.
Love simple cucumber salad nightly with salt pepper rice wine vinegar or white balsamic with red onion, parsley, fresh garlic and cilantro. Yummy. Guess could add anything else like mango or green apples 🍏.
1. Unsalted peanuts 2. Beans and legumes 3. Whole berries 4. Purple foods: sweet potatoes, potatoes, cabbage, etc. 5. Avoid restricted diets 6. Low carb whole veggies 7. 30g of fiber daily 8. make your 'diet' a lifestyle 9. train your gut slowly with beans and legumes 10. Avoid GMOs , processed foods and toxins 11. Avoid saturated fats 12. Look at GMO of animal protein 13. Add more potassium rich food 14. Avoid simple sugars and substitutes 15. Don't give in to cravings 16. Avoid Alcohol 17. Fasting is good 18. Check ratio of soluble fiber to carbs. Aim for 30g a day 19. Avoid added fructose or processed fructose 20. Eat whole fruits
For people looking for tips on cooking beans. Make sure you soak them preferably overnight. Throw out that water or use it to water house plants. Then pressure cook the beans. Pressure cooking is the way to remove phytic acids which helps with reduced bloating. Indian cooking, where we have been eating legumes and beans for centuries also uses Asafetida and spices which helps battle the gas from beans.
So confusing! Some say never eat fruits (except berries), some say NOT to eat carbohydrates, some say only eat meat. There's so much information and they all have a way of convincing people. It so hard to know what is really true, but it's probably because no one really knows the right answer. Maybe it's because we all have differences in our body chemistry and not all foods have the same effect on all people. I don't think there's ONE right answer for EVERYONE.
How to test which foods are working for you. An hour after eating… 1. More or less energy? 2. How feeling emotionally? 3. How is thinking? Brain fog or clear? Eat the foods your body likes.
Dear Dr. Liu, I’m a sugar addict since 6 years old, I’m 45 and today I prepared your salad and I’m satiated in all levels, Feel happy because of the sweetness that you salad brings up with the mango and mint. Feels so rich. Fantastic!, Greetings from CDMX, Mexico. Thank you!
@healthyimmunedoc Wow! I've seen a lot of talks on nutrition, but you just put more great info into one talk than I've ever seen. Really, the work you obviously put into this one video is off the chart. You should have charged for this, if of only to increase the likelihood that people will actually use it. Thank you!
I literally need someone to make these things for me - who can remember all of this information about the indexes, what and how it works in the body, and nutrition information?
This is the first person I've listened to that resonates within. I was at the point I didn't know what to eat anymore, and gaining weight along with poor health in the process. Thank you.
and you can grow them easily in your own garden. beans are some of the easiest things to grow in your back yard. so are berries. cut industrial food, eat whole foods, mostly plant based, with the least processing necessary. if you cook, stay below 300F. my pleasure food is fresh fruit out of my food forest 🙂 excellent vid 🙂
Very helpful! I read a lot of different opinions about eating steel cut or rolled flake oatmeal. Perhaps you could do a segment on the good/ bad of oatmeal.
I googled the etymology of the carabao mango. The fruit is called as such because the national animal of the Philippines is the carabao, a tropical water buffalo. Now that more and more people are switching to a plant-based diet I wonder how this will affect the further evolution of human beings. Thank you.
For people looking for tips on cooking beans. Make sure you soak them preferably overnight. Throw out that water or use it to water house plants. Then pressure cook the beans. Pressure cooking is the way to remove phytic acids which helps with reduced bloating. Indian cooking where we have been eating legumes and beans for centuries also uses Asafetida and spices which helps battle the gas from beans. Edit : also please don’t start eating 3 cups of beans everyday if you have never eaten them or eat very infrequently! Ease in to it starting with a few spoonfuls and slowly increasing your intake.
Ive been looking for healthy lunch choices and I’m obese. I don’t usually like foods that are tart so I’m amazed that the beans and mango counterbalance the lemon and rice vinegar. Yummy!
Any Suggestions?: Ever since I ate a can of black beans for a week, I have been bloated. My stomach have enlarged. What can I do to release this gas? It's been several weeks now. U 🤔
Would you please address xylitol as a natural sweetner? It has been recommended by my dentist for 2 reasons: 1. To treat dry mouth 2. To nutralize acid, which harmful oral bacteria thrive on, and create an alkaline oral environment to decrease tooth decay. Xylitol has a near 0 glycemic index as I understand it, which should not trigger insulin secretion.
Thank you for all your videos. Are beans a rich calcium foods? I am looking for rich calcium vegetables and legumes to replace my cheese, yogurt and milk.
Can you please do a show on how you prepare your beans, and how you might prepare liver and other organs. I know I’m supposed to eat these things, but I can’t fathom how to prepare them easily.

Would the mango mean this should be eaten the day it's prepared? I love how you throw the food preparation details in....was clueless on the onion fungus.
I don’t have problems with sugar anymore like I used to but I do have addiction to carbs and their is nothing I can do about it sadly 😣 Eating carbs also basically a huge problem same as sugar. Maintain low carb day by day almost impossible for some reason. 🤔
@dinamariea61 there's hundreds of channels talking about the same stuff. you can watch one of those or she could do a video specifically on all the diseases related to the American diet. if you're going to say this is the one food for weight loss, this then that's what she should stick to
The salad looks really delicious and I’m definitely going to try it. My question is do you eat that whole salad at one sitting or over the course of a day? I’m not sure what portion is appropriate.
You soak over night pressure cook Braise onion add tablespoon crushed garlic an ginger bought at veg stores or supermarkets Ad curry powder an tomatoes three grounded med cook well add salt an a little pepper if u like strong add 2 ,3 green chillies when cooked add cooked beans taste for salt chop Dhani green corianda
Beans. I get that reducing meat and replacing that with beans/legumes, eating natural food and not fake synthetic “foodstuffs”, eating natural fiber from whole fruit (not juice), eating grass fed meat and dairy - all help your body to feel full and get nutrients, and get healthier.
Eating food in the right order: NON starchy veggies first, protein and fat second, carbs and sugars last and intermittent fasting worked for my friend.
Have you tried soaking them in either lemon or lime juice for 10- 15 minutes? I also use rice vinegar because it has a milder flavor. Just enough to cover. I would tend to discard the vinegar afterwards or maybe use it for a dressing.
I have cut all sugar and started exercising but i replaced sugar with honey in my coffee. Is honey a good replacment for sugar? (I have lost 7 pounds in two weeks.)
It is, because while honey also has calories, has healing properties. Just use enough to cut the bitterness without over sweetening. Best wishes! (I'm also a doctor)

Me too. However I’ve been blending about a cup of watermelon with a cup of ice and 1/2 cup of carbonated water. It’s like a watermelon Icee. I’m wondering if it will be too much of a sugar spike. Do you think I should be concerned?
You can try having one legume a day and adding a legume each day, so that in 30 days you will be comfortable eating 30 legumes. This is suggested by the Healthy Immune Doc. Also make sure the beans are cooked properly, maybe start with canned no salt beans, like pinto, black, kidney, garbanzo or cannellini beans.
This kind of clickbait really upsets me. You show mangoes but promote beans. I have G6PD deficiency - the most common genetic enzyme condition on the planet. They don't need salt 🧂 and they are so delicious. I have eaten them for over 40 years. I love them 💋❤️

What about lectins? Dr. Gundry seems to think beans and legumes are bad for us. I just want to know what to eat in these helter skelter days.

3:53 3:54 3:55 I followed your instructions and gained 3pounds in 3 weeks. I have been on Keto diet for the last six years, and eat very healthy.
What from beans?
@@bellasue02 yes, I ate beans and vegetables.
How so?
Very helpful! I read a lot of different opinions about eating steel cut or rolled flake oatmeal. Perhaps you could do a segment on the good/ bad of oatmeal.
I don't believe that God made steel cut oatmeal for human consumption. It take HOURS just to soften
Love your videos. You always provide a wealth of information.
Hi Dr Liu. ! I love and respect your work. Can you do a video on Oxalates ? So much confusion on this subject and your input is needed. Thanks!!!
If you eat enough calcium it binds to oxalates and you pee it out so it doesnt affect you, you can also destrot oxalates by cooking them
You are so informative and thank you for the easy analogies. You have taught me so much-thank you
Thank you for the much needed information and content!
I googled the etymology of the carabao mango. The fruit is called as such because the national animal of the Philippines is the carabao, a tropical water buffalo.

Love your easily understandable videos Dr. Liu❣️ You have a gift for teaching. Would love to see you and @MasteringDiabetes do a video together!

What about Grass fed Animals? is that meat okay to eat?
I love it!!!❤❤❤
Please, more smart and delicious recipes❤
There are so many delicious foods. I have never believed the diets that advocate “remove a single food group.” Those are not sustainable.
Ive been looking for healthy lunch choices and I’m obese. I don’t usually like foods that are tart so I’m amazed that the beans and mango counterbalance the lemon and rice vinegar. Yummy!
Thank you…I think I’m going to make this salad tomorrow!
Newly subscribed, I love your channel! Thanks.
Informative video! But for majority of people it’s impossible to digest 3 cups of beans on daily basis. What about bloating and bowel aches?
She talks about training your gut in another video.
Start low and go slow.
Plus, soaking in water etc

Great video!

The mango salad looks delicious.
Do you have a book you recommend on beans…nutritionally, oxalates, how to cook to reduce oxalates and lectins?
Excellent show s thank you ❤🎉
Excellent as always. Thank you 😊
I heard that we are not supposed to mix starches with acids like fruit or vinegars as it ferments and can make acid reflux.
Watching your show is a trip bro!!! That rhythm!
I appreciated the information.

This is a good one! I’m definitely making that salad 🥗 😋

Why does it take 41 minutes to find out what the number one food is?
Her videos are full of lots of related information. It is not just about the title.
@dinamariea61 there's hundreds of channels talking about the same stuff. you can watch one of those or she could do a video specifically on all the diseases related to the American diet. if you're going to say this is the one food for weight loss, this then that's what she should stick to

What about eating grains? Like raw oats or oat bran?
I read somewhere that mango is not good for fatty liver? Thank you.
Awesome. Loved this video
I don’t care for mangos. Is there a good substitute?
Peaches, apricots, apples, plums…the list is up to you.
33:41, are lemon seeds bad?
The salad looks really delicious and I’m definitely going to try it. My question is do you eat that whole salad at one sitting or over the course of a day? I’m not sure what portion is appropriate.
What do you do to avoid getting gassy when eating so many beans?
When I eat mango I eat the skin as well. Is that ok?
What happens if you don’t like beans and legumes? I’ve tried them and don’t like them.

what about high uric acid? can you eat lots of beans?
So, what is the ONE FOOD for weight loss as advertised in the title????? clickbait?
Beans.
I get that reducing meat and replacing that with beans/legumes, eating natural food and not fake synthetic “foodstuffs”, eating natural fiber from whole fruit (not juice), eating grass fed meat and dairy - all help your body to feel full and get nutrients, and get healthier.
My body reacts so badly to legumes, bloating and severe tummy ache. Not to mention the skin rashes. Not good for all
Dr you say no processed foods and you are using canned beans in your recent.
Labels on food now is worded "Bioengineered"
Very smart doc
How do we get all our potassium required????

Personally I like the mouth-feel of a good crunchy watermelon.
Me too. However I’ve been blending about a cup of watermelon with a cup of ice and 1/2 cup of carbonated water. It’s like a watermelon Icee. I’m wondering if it will be too much of a sugar spike. Do you think I should be concerned?
Tttttooooo long I lost myself
Beans give me terrible gas and make me sick if I eat them too often
I found that you need to soak them at least 24 hour before cooking and even let them germinate a bit. No more gas or bloating x
You can try having one legume a day and adding a legume each day, so that in 30 days you will be comfortable eating 30 legumes. This is suggested by the Healthy Immune Doc.
