I bought a New Hudson from Andy T, with the Villiers 2f engine, 98cc, just as much fun as my 1200 suzuki, for a fraction of the cost, Brilliant vidio as always.
I love many things about small bikes, enduros, mopeds, scooters, motorized bicycles, cruisers.. They can look a variety of ways. And the other thing.. Almost all big 'standard' side bikes have standard controls. This things can have variety of different controls and gears, automatics, CVTs or no gears at all, centrofugical clutches .. There is so much styles and substyles that everyone can satisfy his taste. Do you have a RE the flying flea in your RE collection? .. Call me crazy but I love them all .. More then the big /standard size/ bikes
That was truly amazing 👏 l thought l spotted an old Bultaco in that lot, in immaculate condition. Well done VB 👏 for sharing this extremely British obsession of getting together with our bikes, eating pies and drinking gallons of tea 🍵 👌
Yes and a Superdream! had one when I was fifteen, far too heavy for me at the time, got it by swapping with a farmer for a ZX Spectrum computer, had to start it by shorting out the starter motor, good times!
Just imagining the stink from all those terrible old two stroke motors! Mayor Khan would have a seizure just thinking about it. :)) A 1959, Raleigh RM1C with a clutch lever, was my first foray into powered two wheeled transport. Way back when. What a joy it was to be bowling along at twenty five miles an hour without working up a sweat.
My first one was a fa 50 ,threw it off the end of a jetty when I couldn’t sell it.was off offshore on a tug and had no where to keep it(…bloody youth…).came back after a month at sea and someone rang up asking if it was still for sale,,will get back to you….went and dragged for it ,pulled it up .hosed it off with fresh water, dried it,new gas and it ran, electrics and all…..saw it around years later still going strong, and boy I trashed it ,mostly drove two up……record was 4 big sailors……both my kids learnt on one , great bikes….
That looks like fun, it's a shame you couldn't take part. I always sort out my insurance online and it's covered immediately. You'll probably be using a classic bike insurer though. I bet the race back is crazy.
Wonderful. I could smell the hot two stroke oil all the way down here in Johannesburg. Didn't see any of my old 50cc's there; Fantic Motor, or any NSU Quickly's unless I missed them. Good stuff; thanks.
You should look into a trader policy perhaps. Must be a nightmare to keep track of your fleet. Never forget my old SS50. Had so much fun with that bike.
Ahh, just spoke to you tonight at Stonham. You were telling me about your interceptor that seized up. This mince pie run was my late father’s run. He organised it for 35 years. David Evans who sadly past a few years back. I’ll look at your channel as I have a 650 too 👍
Hi VB, What a pain not being able to take part, looks like a bit of a hoot that mince pie run, couldn’t you have ridden one of your REs, wish I still had my Puch Maxi, that was laugh riding that, anyway there’s always next year.
I'm hoping to do this run next time on my recently purchased 1956 New Hudson autocycle, at the moment its a non runner as thats how I prefer to purchase them. A good turnout indeed, but to my mind a lot of bikes there that don't match the spirit of the event. I did join the EACC so will look out for runs once the slowpeds up & running !
Absolutely fabulous, what a wonderful event. On the subject of insurance, I live in Germany and vehicle registration is totally different. You have different classes of vehicles with different rules.. Anything 50cc, e-scooters, 45kph min-cars and such are registered through your local insurance office. 1st March every year, new plates are issued. Different colour every year. You go to any insurance office with the original conformity paper, pay €50 and walk out with a new plate (the size of a paperback book) there is only one date to remember. All other vehicles are registered with the county vehicle office.. The number changes any time you move county permanently. The number is linked to your insurance/inspection/tax payment which are all linked to your bank account. You can't cancel anything without deregistering the vehicle. There are notice periods but failing to comply they take your plate(s) back. Keep a lot of sh%to off the roads.
@@Volcanicbrown1878 yep, I am a Brit. Same in Holland. It's much harder to track insurance validity with life long plates. I really like the German system. (they are even super friendly and helpful at the vehicle office.) As I said, keeps a lot of poo off the road. Enjoying the channel, especially with the variation.
The RM6 always had bicycle brakes and forks on the front. It was only the models with Telescopic forks that got a front Drum brake ie the RM5, RM7, RM8, RM9, 11 and 12. If I hear of anything I will let you know!
Very nice bunch of different machines, had a road registered late 60s Honda Z50 mini bike when I was on L plates, much younger, thinking about it now, what was I thinking 😂
I have a Royal Enfield 500cc diesle for sale if anyone is interested . 1963. I have just sold one of my fave bikes a CM 200 . love your streams keep em coming mate . 👍👍👍I am looking for a 5 speed engein for my SS50.
Love, love, love your channel! Please keep,it up! Great Job!❤
Thank you! Will do!
I bet you was itching to get on a bike , brilliant video love seeing the old bikes/peds , Thanks for sharing 👍
I was!

They are quite torquey for a tiddler!

Classic Yarns & testament to that make of Moped being chucked off the wharf & given a tidy up & ran for years to come.
Fab turnout, some cracking little bikes there and glad it was dry for them 👍
Yes it was!

@robinwells8879 I wouldn't be able to get a trader policy as I'm not in the motor trade!

@garethevans60 Good to meet you Gareth. I remember your father David well. A very sad loss indeed.
That looked like great fun……… I thought of you yesterday, I saw at our local post office an advert for an old mobycane moped for sale………..🙂
Oh wow!
I’m reminded of my friend’s old Honda 50.
Very nice assortment of mopeds. Thanks! Great fun.
Glad you like them!

@lyndenhodder5655 We thought about it but decided that it just wouldn't be the same!
wow a Yamaha RD350? at 5:43, still sounds amazing.
It was good to see them set off, hopefully we’ll see you on one of your Raleigh bikes before too long. I thought the audio was fine by the way.
Thanks, I did wonder if would be inaudible due to the noise of the bike's!

I started out on a Honda SS50 5 speed .Then upto a yamaha DT125 then a Honda CB750 now that was differant . Lol great fun lads and girls 👍👍👍👍
Massive smiles per miles on Mopeds & little motorbikes.
Love that smell of 2stroke in the mornings😁😆😂🤣.
You and me both!
Brilliant, made my day!
Looks like terrific fun!
A BSA Beagle is a rare sight these days.. I seem to remember you have to split cases to change the front sprocket on them..
@roum22 I've heard tell that the only fella to commute to the BSA factory on a Beagle, had a spare engine at work and another spare one at home!
Absolutely fabulous, what a wonderful event.

That's interesting, Vehicles here are issued a number when they are new and that stays on the vehicle for it's entire life.

If you ever hear of a Raleigh RM 6 the one with drum brakes available locally, I'd love to relive my youth.

Pete or Andy know my contact details

What a shame your insurance had run out, it would have been good to see your little mopeds in action.👍
I traded my orange Motobecan on my Honda CM -185 Twinstar. My first real motorcycle. 50+ years ago I am so old. Still riding.
love the smell of 2strokes in the morning .
Gutted you couldn;t go mate.
And me too!
I have a Royal Enfield 500cc diesle for sale if anyone is interested . 1963. I have just sold one of my fave bikes a CM 200 . love your streams keep em coming mate . 👍👍👍I am looking for a 5 speed engein for my SS50.
@cbrider726 How much? I could well be interested in it, as I don't have a diesel in the fleet!
Leave the insurance until the 2cnd of February and get all the new year stuff out of the way. Not the time of year to be doing serious stuff!
Someone has to be last😂
I love these old mopeds, great video.
Me too!
What does it take to phone up for insurance even one days worth
@Paulfarmer-en4vh On a Sunday? right....
another year another town gets taken over by biker gangs
