This concert was part of the Decades tour where they revived many of the older songs and Floor made them hers. In that sense it was a bit like the Wacken 2013 concert where none of the songs were written for Floor. The version of "Ghost Love Score" from this concert is just as epic as the Wacken concert.
This is the closest thing Nightwish has to a full on anti-war protest song, as it examines the horrors of war from a soldier’s perspective. Also one of my personal favorite songs !!! This song has a clear narrator, an unnamed soldier suffering with guilt and shame at the actions he’s taken in war. The song begins with a simple statement that immediately begins to lay the groundwork for what the title of the song means. (Today I killed, he was just a boy, eight before him, I knew them all.) Meaning this is the 9th man the soldier has killed. The chorus of the song is just devastating, delivering a rapid fire desperate plea, with the soldier planning to desert even though they know they will be killed for it. (Run and fight for life, hold on tight, this ain’t my fight.) The second verse talks about how killing another person is something that happens in an instant but sticks with you forever. (Devil’s instant, my eternity) Marko’s part then begins, which seems to represent the darkest thoughts of the soldier. He talks about envying the nine soldiers and their blood now lines his path, and that he can’t take it anymore, even being labeled a coward means nothing. Later, Marko as the soldier states that they will march away from their duty until the dawn brings them peace, and they welcome capital punishment for desertion with open arms, becoming the tenth man down. This show from BA is just as fantastic as Wacken. Great energy, crazy crowd and absolutely epic backdrop/screens. Not to mention Floor is wearing her most "valkyrie" outfit ever 😍

There's a couple off this concert that are in heavy rotation on my playlist, that crowd was fantastic, the band was on point, visuals were outstanding, sound outstanding! A watch party for this Buenos Aries concert would be fantastic, the whole concert has so many of my favourite versions of songs on it, in particular "Elvenpath and Elvenjig", then "I want my Tears Back" before it even starts Floor is flirting with the crowd and just exudes sassy confidence and has so much fun on stage. 10th Man Down is an older track from Tarja's time with NW but Floor and Marco simply own it on stage. One of my favourite Nightwish songs, especially with Floor singing. Tarja is good, but Floor's versatility is unmatched. She and Marko are amazing together. (I saw them perform "Ave Maria" at Raskasta Joulua a few years ago, and it was so beautiful.) But of course, I have to say that no two voices blend so well as Heidi and JP in that Dark Sarah song you reacted to. 😅
This is one of the songs I prefer Tarja as lead. I think for me I prefer her approach to Floors belts which I find a little jarring but then I have always loved this song since release. What I do love with this version though is the slight tweaks in the music side of it.
