    Here's a great opportunity to pick up an amazing Bach trumpet with no wait at a great savings! The 72 bell offers a wide palette of tonal colors, with easy response and great projection! This particular trumpet has a large bore, which is much less common with the 72 bell. This horn is from the mid 1990's and has some signs of use.

    Back in high school, the late 80's, I had a XL bore Bach. I never knew if it was rare. I didnt know anything about mouthpiece sizes but I could never get above F over high C. I love that trumpet and really miss it. That L bore is a beautiful, well loved, horn!

    Great trumpet playing! That Bach trumpet sounds good! I have played Bachs, Olds, Conn, Yamaha, Selmer 80J (the best ever), Carol, Holton and KIng. Bachs tend be hard to play in tune. G in the staff is often too low, an G above is often too high. But, they sound great.

    Usually prefer the 43 v. 72 in ML Bore, but this one rellay sounds great. More like a Martin comittee.

    I’d love to know more about the engineering tricks that go into creating a desired sound signature, responsiveness, etc of a horn. I played a Strad as a student 50 yrs ago and never gave it any thought. I went to a larger, deeper Bach mouthpiece however. 5C to 3C or the other way around. I can’t recall. Had to have mine silver plated because it was getting chewed up like this one.

      the video is 2+ years ago so I'll guess an MV3C but I honestly can't remember.

    I don't agree that a large bore 72 is rare. I have one, and 4 other people I know have them just in my circle of friends. Yes there are more medium large bore versions but .462 is quite standard. It's rare for you because people keep them. I got rid of my ML 72 recently because, well, the large bore was better.

    I say if you want a large bore, get a flugel.

    • @austincustom
      @austincustom  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Most flugels are small bore FYI

      No… A flugel is going to have a completely different sound than a large bore trumpet.
