Firstly, absolutely great stuff man, congrats. I’m playing a low block 4-4-2 with Lecce. When I paired TF with an AF, focus of direct passes becomes AF. Can’t make a pinned header from TF to other striker and goal. Any suggestions? Thanks.
what are you using for the winger position? I've found the Winger will hit more of those looping crosses that the Targer Forward can get on the end of; and something like a Defensive Winger will get more "lower" crosses on the ground.
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker Definitely Winger, but awkwardly he always finds the other striker(AF or Poacher) despite cross aim target man PI. On the other side I have WP(S) and WB on Att they are the same also. I think role is bulit for more central actions as in your video.

In my personal saves (and any tactic videos I do), I watch the entire match on a faster speed. Takes about 20-30 minutes; but you don't have to do that (unless you're a sicko like me haha) I would say comprehensive or extended is best, and adjust the speed to a couple of notches above the middle. That's fast enough where it's not a slog to get through but not too fast where you can't even tell what's going on.. Extended would be better if you're just trying something out, or have started fresh. Comprehensive when you're into the season and comfortable with it, or maybe against a lower team in a cup game
Bro i love football manager and I just love your videos, I wanted to ask… “can I play Target Forward, Advance Playmaker and Deep Lying Playmaker in one tactic
I appreciate that bud! and thank you for the support!! This is my personal preference, but I don't like playing two playmakers in a tactic. Mostly because they are "focus roles" so his teammates will look to pass them the ball around; this means I usually build my tactic around a singular playmaker. A playmaker will also follow the ball around, so having two of them means your midfield could be exposed. With all that said, I think a DLP and a AP or the most complimentary playmakers if you were to use two of them. So maybe if you've got a couple of players that are perfect for those roles, I would have your other midfielders be mroe focused on holding your shape and providing cover. This would be roles like the Carrlero, Central Midfielder, Anchor, Defensive Midfielder, ones like that. Hope that helps!!
I have questions for ones who played perfect seasions with one Target Forward. Do you recommend only 1 forward which is Target Forward or is 2 forward player is necessary? What do you guys recommend for one single Target Forward gameplay (Instructions and Lineups)? 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 or something else? Also my another question is which one is better? Double wingers, double inverted wingers, or 1 winger and 1 inverted winger? Using wing backs or complete wing backs? Any other recommendations? Thank you for helping me.
I've used the Target Forward a ton over the years and they can work in any kind of formation. In a 433, they usually need an attacking role to play off of them something like the Inside Forward out on the wing or from the midfield (like a CM(A) or Mezzala). The traditional Winger is a great choice too, since they'll be feeding crosses to the Target Forward. When using two strikers, I'd avoid any role that drops deep (so a Deep Lying Forward, False 9) because they'd be doing the same thing. Advanced Forwards, Poachers, Complete Forwards, and even the Trequartista can all pair with the Target Forward
Thank you for great video about Target Forward. Can I know your opinion about Duty of TF ? For example in which scenerio or style of play you will use Attack duty and Support duty ?
For the most part, I use the TF on support in formations without an attacking midfielder (like a 433) or with a striker partner (like a 422). If it's a formation with an attacking midfielder (like a 4231), I like to use the TF on attack to make him lead the line a little more
@@kimbaolu8644 No problem! I probably should've talked about that in the video, but this comment thread will have to do lol. Also I'll try to be more informative in upcoming videos to talk about things like that
Sometimes even when I select the goal kicks to be directly hoofed at my TF, in most cases they never go to him, so we end up losing the ball and the opposition has a great chance to counter. Don't know if it depends on my Gk's kicking ability, or is it that my team still needs to build our tactical chemistry.
I think it probably has to do with goalie distribution; but don't worry, I have that same issue too. Sometimes I just deal with it, since if we do get it to the TF, we often have a great chance in on goal (kinda like in this highlight breakdown)
My main problem with the TF is that u need u rely too much on a scorer that must be "better" than the opponents defenders in terms of height, jumping range, heading. And since usually the CB´s are quite good at that finding a good TF that scores consistantly can be quite difficult. One way in which i love a TF is if he is playing inverted on the wings where he is facing a WB 1v1 and is also more...versaitile for ur game. On support he is great for ball posession based football with his "hold ball" instruction while on attack he is great for "umschaltspiel" or counter attacking. Also worth mentioning is that the TF is a true gamechanger in corner kicks cause usually the CB´s are busy covering ur CB´s and u have that extra giant in the penalty box.
great additions!! thanks for the insight; I for sure need to use a target forward more on the wings. I imagine it's a really underutilized, but powerful, role out there. In my save in the year 2035, there are pretty much 0 world class or leading target strikers anymore. Many deep lying forwards and false 9s though. I wonder if it had something to do with teams in top leagues generally not using them and therefore not coming through youth

Every team needs a TF! When your 2 strikers get stymied and you’re behind in the second half, I switch to a single striker TF with an extra midfield/dmc and it works more often than not.

You should see some better ratings, mostly because they'll be more involved in buildup and can get some passes in. They can also get some assists so they aren't as dependent on goals
In my save in the year 2035, there are pretty much 0 world class or leading target strikers anymore. Many deep lying forwards and false 9s though. I wonder if it had something to do with teams in top leagues generally not using them and therefore not coming through youth
very interesting! How many leagues do you have loaded? I'd be curious to see if any lower league teams would be more inclined to use them
Pressing forward next ?
Hope to get to that one in the near future!
Tacos. 100% tacos
I knew I liked you
Ayo I caught the vid near launch. Update on my Singapore build a nation... I decided to postpone it to FM25 since the Singapore league is bugged. 0 staff for all the other teams in the league so their player acquisition is absolute dog water.
man that's a bummer. hopefully they'll have more focus to fix that for this year
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker On the bright side, it gives me time to actually learn the game before I attempt it for real. XD
Finally the first comment!
All I have for you is a "congrats" haha
guys is just me i like play fm with the 2D view😂
2D all the way!!!
Narrow tiki taka with 3 SS and 2 CWB with a target forward 👀
Haha 3 shadow strikers is amazing. I think I did one with 2 of them and a TF and their interchange was amazing
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker you’ve not seen the rest of the system bud, double regista as well 😂
I'm still playing FM21 haha but I've NEVER gotten this role to work
Same here
I just cbf updating with all the crap player interactions
Oh nice FM21! I'd like to think you're just doing one save and are in the year 2150 or something haha
Pizza yeh
next question: Chicago style or New York style???
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker bro I ain't American, but if you're asking me on a FM date will find a way

Chicago style or New York style???
Every team needs a TF! When your 2 strikers get stymied and you’re behind in the second half, I switch to a single striker TF with an extra midfield/dmc and it works more often than not.
So true. Sometimes I'll use a 433 with a TF as the loe striker and use the ole "hit in crosses, the striker's down there somewhere" strategy haha
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker I use a 4-1-3-2 way too much so I’ll end up using a 4-2-3-1 if I get in trouble. My TF doesn’t start often but always super subs off the bench. Using a SS for cam incase the TF wants to lay it off. My wingers are throwing blind crosses for the last 20 minutes of the match. Try Early Crosses? Yes please lol
I like using a TF but the game is too dumb for the role to be useful, as whenever your player receives the ball in the air, he only knows to head it forward, even though there's no one else in front of him...
I like to think that it's really the target forward's thought process. "Me see ball me hit ball forward" kinda thing haha
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker If only. That happens with all of my players pretty much everywhere on the pitch. I can't even count the number of good chances we waste by heading loose balls toward the goal from impossible positions instead of passing to a teammate. I hope they review this in the next edition.
But hey, love your videos. Keep it up! (outstretched arms)
@@thegreendog 🙌🙌
Had Taco Bell 3 days ago and didn’t end well so I’m gonna have to go with pizza personally.
But this is actually one of the roles that I haven’t gotten to work as well, despite having the perfect players for it so I’ll try out your tips and see if anything changes 🌚
Great work as always 🫡
Pizza
I respect it. You prefer Chicago Style or Deep Dish?
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker I'm European so I prefer thinner dough. From my own knowledge I thought I preferred Chicago style but Google told me the 2 are the same so I'm confused

next question: Chicago style or New York style???
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker New York, who the hell invented Chicago style.
@@makaoss9459 🤣🤣🤣 a perfect response haha
