To me, the thing that differentiates Wampler pedals is the three-band EQ on most of them which makes them flexible enough to sound good with near any guitar and amp combination. The Dip switches on the Triumph add more flexibility. The $99 price makes it a no-brainer.
Back in the day I thought the Top Gun theme was by Joe Satriani, the tone and phrasing sounded very close. Never thought I'd hear Always with Me Always With You here. Great demo! I know the Triumph has internal dip switches for more tweakability, but I already have a few overdrives and the Phenom sounds more tube-like so I'll go with that.
Brian Wampler's gainier stuff always has this cool resonance to it, like a low-mid frequency hump or something. It's nice because it makes a 1x12 sound like a stack. But it also makes a 4x12 sound like a bathtub. Those are two great sounding pedals though, and a total bargain for super-tweakable dirt. I really like the Triumph, it sounds like a high-gain amp, not a cooking fet. Pedals have come so far in the last couple decades, wow.
Waiting on the Triumph, it will join my EQD Pumes and Special Cranker on the front end of my board. Something about $100 pedals that are great. More please!

Great demo dude, you applied just the right feel to each of the tones 👌
Glad you like it, thanks :)
Affordable for shepherds everywhere. Wait 99 bucks = how many goats?
Great gains from Brian’s brains!
:)
Wampler knocks it out of the park again

Steve Stevens, good to see a man of culture. (I watched both Top Gun movies last weekend and now the actor who played Sundown has passed away 😢 )
Im a bass player. I LIKE the OVERDRIVE
I thought I liked the Phenom more until I heard both together. Now I think that I want the pair.
Hi Jay. Big fan here from Spain.
Can you please tell me something about this great guitar of the intro, with p90s?
Thank you for your work!!!
It's a B&G Helena :)

Hope you dig it!
Hi jay, i loved your tones here and was wondering what amp you use
Tone King Imperial :)
I'd love to see a shoot out vs JHS 3 series.
yeah, that would be an interesting project!
@@JayLeonardJso why dont you do it :))
To me the best sound was the amp on it's own, there you have it.
Year all great recordings then when u buy and put threw your basic valve amp u will find there not what they seem to be. TH-cam scammers
Discount RJ Ronqillolio but sounds good
I'd be happy to even be a wholesale price RJ. Wonderful dude on and off the camera :)
I thought I was the only person who played the Top Gun theme song on guitar!
haha
@@JayLeonardJ Did the NES game get it stuck in your head? That's how it got burned into my brain.
