I quite like the GWR Class 800 and Class 802 IETs. These are the ones that don't have names unlike LNER who have named their Class 800 and Class 801 as Azuma, Transpennine Express Class 802 as Nova 1 and Hull Trains Class 802 as Paragon.

At least there is a nickname for the GWR Class 800 and Class 802 that are named as “Cucumbers”.

What is the reputation of azuma and its sisters?
Azuma and her sisters ... In other words, Class 800 is a collaborative work between Hitachi, Japan and European companies, mainly in the United Kingdom.
Their growth, I am watching quietly from Japan.

About the most uncomfortable ride ever. Having commuted long distance to Paddington for some years I have made only one journey on this new Hitachi set, excellent acceleration which is where time is made up, but does it ride smooth - Hell no. The old 3 car DMU sets which used to work out of Southall back in the 70's were more comfortable. These are CRAP. Vibrations, shakes. bumps and the journey time is slower than 20 years ago but I suspect that is because more recovery time is inserted so that the timekeeping figs are as good as they can be short of cancelling trains, which is ow standard procedure as the times then do not count. If a train for any reason is fairly late, then its cancelled and run as a special so the timings dont count.
