Santiago Novillo He's a phenomenal player. He's just not an elite player not everyone can be elite people sometimes expect too much and hype people up and are disappointed when they don't turn out to be the next Ronaldo or Messi. Well guess what people those are one maybe 2 per generation
that pause he does. waits where golie goes then simply shoot it the other way. if that pause does not work he simply shoots very close to a post. very simple but highly accurate

@@HSGBoyI take penalties exactly like this. I honest think if you’re confident naturally it’s not hard to do. This is just a lot simpler for me to do. Take 1 step to get the keeper to move Take another step to set your planting foot and step 3 is you kicking the ball into one of the far corners (usually far right if you’re right footed)

Notice how he only shoots into a corner accurately when the goalie dives that way but every other time the goalie dives the wrong way Balotelli calmy smacks it in without great accuracy because he already knows the goalie fucked up.

dan138zig its because of the pressure we get as goalkeepers and the trick is to see how the feet of the penalty kicker move but it only works sometimes
Cuz that's his backup plan, if the GK doesn't move, Mario wants to shoot to a corner with accuracy, he knows the 20 feet goal post is too big to cover anyway if the shot is accurate. He's the only exponent of penalty kicker who you would think takes it with Power but actually he doesn't.

He has missed two (against Napoli and Genoa). But he is born penalty taker :) He's looking where the goalkeeper is going to dive and after he made that slow step he's able to make his shot surprise for a goalie ^^

Mario has scored 26 penalties before he had his first miss : against Napoli . Overall in his career he has only missed 6 penalties with a conversion rate of 88%. Thats pretty good.

99% of times it makes the goalkeeper moving before the shot.
Not everyone can afford this kind of technique. One of strongest Balotelli quality is he doens’t need to run to make powerful shots.
This technique is older, easier to look yet harder to practice compare to jorginho / bruno technique.

Hart was the only goalie that didn’t get fooled by the fake! I feel it’s because they played in man city for a while and he knows his tricks. But this is an awesome technique and scores every time

I think his success has 2 factors. 1: Incredible technique, he pauses just before shooting to see if the goalkeeper cheats to one side and simply rolls the ball the other way. If the goalkeeper stays still, he a has the accuracy and power to just place it into the corner.
2. Possibly because of his mental conditions he doesn’t feel as much pressure and actually he enjoys taking penalty’s, it’s just a mind game he likes.

You're totally right.I replayed the video once i noticed your comment and it's spot on. Just to add on though, I think that the reason he is so good at penalties might have to do with his huge confidence. You see the crazy crap that balotelli gets up to off the pitch, and it transfers onto the pitch. He is so confident, his ego is so huge when he steps up to the penalty spot, he believes he will not miss. He's certain. I think some psychologists would find this very interesting

Just watched this whole video and still can’t tell what he’s doing but god damn is it satisfying
He benefits from being endowed with the ability to generate power from a relatively short to none existent back lift. And because he can do this, blended with exquisite timing, there is little to no telegraphing that takes places. Just as the best boxers learn to punch with power, without telegraphing a punch, he has learnt to punch the ball with little to no back-lift. If the keeper guesses, he holds back long enough to to see where he is diving. If they don't guess, he has enough power - not a lot but enough - to stroke the ball past the keeper without giving him a chance because the stroke is not telegraphed. As someone in the comments has just said, it's definitely harder than it looks. But a definite for genius is making light work of what others find almost impossible. His penalty stroke is genius!
I noticed that in a split of second before shooting he slows down to see which direction the keeper is jumping, then he shoots on the opposite direction.

The thing is that the penalty kicks he performs are not perfect in particular, it's just that he's so mentally strong and relaxed. He believes in himself, that he will score.

Makes a very difficult penalty look easy. Once you master keeping your eyes at the keeper whilst kicking the ball, it is easy. He obviously practices this all the time. Also takes great composure in pressure situations
