I bought this lesson (currently finishing up the chorus), and it is definitely a difficult song to nail down at times. I've only been playing guitar for a little over a year, but the way Jamie has the lessons set up and his attention to detail made an impossible song seem possible. There have been at least three instances where I have gotten to a measure and thought "there is absolutely no way I'm going to be able to handle this", but I perservered and kept flipping between the lesson and this video until my brain made the connections. It's amazing hearing the song slowly coming together and realizing "Wow, I can actually play this!?" It's given me a huge confidence boost and passed on a knowledge I can apply not only to this song, but my guitar playing in general! I would absolutely recommend this lesson to anyone wanting to learn this beautiful version of Bold As Love.

I've wanted to learn to play a version of bold as love since I'm 16. 10 years finally nailed Jamie's solo guitar version --can always work more on the dynamics, but that will come with time playing this another 1000 times. The lessons are well worth it, and will keep me busy for the foreseeable future. Brushing up on my little wing now, shot the sheriff is next, and then we'll tackle slow dancing, and eventually gravity and lenny!

The price is hefty for many people (including me), but I decided to give the 5 bundle a shot (if it wasn't worth it, there's a 30-money back guarantee!) and I can now easily say that this was the best guitar related decision I have ever made. It is really like having a private teacher, only the teacher is learning songs and tricks that you actually are interested in. I have to say this guy has to be one of the best Hendrix aficionados I have ever heard... For example as much as I love him "Tyler from music is win" couldn't even begin to touch this song to this degree of feel style and virtuosity, as talented as he is. Unbeleive job JH.
This lesson is absolutely awesome everyone. If you want to learn how to play this along with learning about his gear and structure, do yourself a favor and buy the lesson. The price is well worth it, especially if you compare it to your local guitar teacher. Jamie breaks down each part of the song and plays it at a slower rate so you can pause and really learn it. He also offers a special if you want to get the 3 pack of Bold As Love, Little Wing, and the AMAZING Lenny by SRV. I find Jamie's lessons much easier to follow and learn the song than the free videos on TH-cam. Don't be cheap everyone, buy the lesson. Thanks Jamie!

Excellent course Jamie. I am absolutely loving these, I've purchased Bold as Love, Lenny, Little Wing & Slow Dancing. Your courses are comprehensive and well thought out and not overly complicated or rigid. Before i saw your videos i have been learning little wing, lenny, life without you and under the bridge and i had just made the change to playing with my thumb over... these were right down the alley of my ear. Your concept of playing by ear within a framework of chord progressions and not trying to make the song the same every-time freed me up a bunch and propelled what i had been already doing forward a bunch. I recommend these courses highly J, appreciate your help.
Ok, I want to leave my review regarding the lessons (I bought the full package) First I wanted to share that I support a lot independent musicians and I find way easier to learn when the course is directed to a specific public (or specific style of music) because it's not only about the chords or shapes but it's about the gear, the feeling, the right hand, the strength and intensity you strum the strings and so on. Also, if you focus on learning a technique or style with one single person, in my opinion, you'll be able to learn it faster because you're gonna follow the logic of one single person. Without further ado, here's my thoughts: - Taking into account the content of the lessons, the price is ridiculous. It should be way more expensive haha - Jamie is really focused on details and making sure he gets everything covered - His didactic is amazing, I usually have to pause and rewind a lot when I am watching videos. Jamie's ones are like having a conversation. I still pause and rewind but it's very intuitive just by the way he expains - Like a said before, he's not focused on tabs and making sure you hit the right notes, he's focused on teaching you how to play with feelings, finding the right tones with your fingers In summary, if you didn't buy the course because you're trying to ponder whether it is worth or not, go for it!
I agree, the little wing chord progression is still in my opinion one of the most beautiful of all time, specifically the Bm, Am, C, G, F towards the end. Not only rhe best guitarist in music history but also one of the overall best artists
Thanks a lot man, appreciate that! :-) Thanks for your opinion on the strat, I can't say I agree, but if it's not your taste that's fine too! :-) Your probably referring to the fact that I'm playing this with absolutely no drive, completely clean, I don't think its because of the guitar. :-)
It's a burden that plagues us both.. I know I can reach those chords with a different shape, however using the thumb just seems so much more practical, and some songs require it (though I am sure you could find another position elsewhere on the fretboard). For instance, John Mayer's "Born And Raised". He uses a chord, it's a G but root 4 I think, and uses his pinky for a hammer on with a thumb on the bass note G. The chord requires 5 fingers:( And the guitarists that I love play this way, too.
You'll get it, just keep at it... I didn't just pick it up and play it just cause I've bigger hands, I think even if Id smaller hands, if I put as much work into it as I did, it would still be possible! Best of luck with it! It takes a lot of work, but it's worth it! ;-)
***** i have sausages instead of fingers, but i've picked the thumb technique fairly well, the type of neck changes the difficulty, i have a fat les paul neck, so it's harder and i can get just the E under my thumb, but it works fine enough, but as always a lot of practice is what makes the real difference
I still can't believe I can learn to play like this ever with so much clean sound. I've been playing guitar on and off for 10 years like a fruciante style the last two years and I'm trying to play like John Mayer now, but Jimi is the King and to hard to Master.
Bold As Love 7 min Instrumental Version I can't find this anywhere. YT blocked this due to a copyright claim by SME. Man, i've just found a gem and YT blocks it. I WAS INSANELY INTO IT NOW I CANT HEAR IT NO MORE. Please, somebody... help... i'm so cold... *dies*

Beautiful! This is the best version of Jimi's song I've seen. Way better than Mayer's. I just thought you should've used a crunchier tone, but that's just me. Gratz!
BrendanxD I don't know where you saw hate on my comment. I just said this guy's version is better than his, to my ears at least. No shame in that. I'm a Mayer fan, if that counts for anything.
@marko , well you are on TH-cam . Search for "John Mayer - bold as love" there's a wonderful live version where he's in a suit and tie. Butttttt Jimi has a few studio versions of this. One with words is really good. The BEST version in my opinion is the 7 minute long instrumental version Jimi Hendrix recorded. So beautiful. It's track #7 on one of the box set cd's . The one with sgt pepper, gypsy eyes and Gloria. Been jamming this for years.
Would you consider making a tutorial for the basic chord shapes, and how to practise them to eventually get them? I've been strugling with this style for years, and I just can't get them clean like you. Wonderful job covering a great song, Actually I prefer some of your licks to the original!
Ur comfort level is great dude, I always get nervous when I attempt hendrix or mayer honestly. And i can never get the timing and pacing for the overall mood on any of their songs. So i dont risk it and shy away when im playing in front of anyone
Great Job my friend! I've been looking for things like this. It saves so much time when transposing things. Thanks for doing the work and playing it so well.
I already learned this whole song from Marty Schwartz’s free tutorial but in the end, it just didn’t sound quite right, and it felt like something was missing (no hate to Marty, I think his tutorials have gotten me far in my beginner days and even further along my progress). That’s why I decided to buy your Lesson, and honestly, I already see why something was missing. You can’t cram everything into a 20 minute lesson! There’s so much more to this song, and honestly, you nailed every single detail. I can’t wait to learn the song your way and Marty’s tutorial has definitely given me a feel for the song, but yours will bring me on top. Thanks you!

Always an inspiration to watch.
Ok, I want to leave my review regarding the lessons (I bought the full package)
First I wanted to share that I support a lot independent musicians and I find way easier to learn when the course is directed to a specific public (or specific style of music) because it's not only about the chords or shapes but it's about the gear, the feeling, the right hand, the strength and intensity you strum the strings and so on. Also, if you focus on learning a technique or style with one single person, in my opinion, you'll be able to learn it faster because you're gonna follow the logic of one single person. Without further ado, here's my thoughts:
- Taking into account the content of the lessons, the price is ridiculous. It should be way more expensive haha
- Jamie is really focused on details and making sure he gets everything covered
- His didactic is amazing, I usually have to pause and rewind a lot when I am watching videos. Jamie's ones are like having a conversation. I still pause and rewind but it's very intuitive just by the way he expains
- Like a said before, he's not focused on tabs and making sure you hit the right notes, he's focused on teaching you how to play with feelings, finding the right tones with your fingers
In summary, if you didn't buy the course because you're trying to ponder whether it is worth or not, go for it!
Still as majestic as when the first time I saw this... 10 years ago! Wow....
Hendrix is amazing as we all know but it's great to have his compositions without the drums and bass and engineering... Good job!
This guy blows me away
Man, Hendrix sure had a way with chord progressions....
Absolutely
And he wrote this stuff when he was in his early 20s
@@LOLLYPOPPE he is THE guitar god. The best player that will ever play the guitar.
I agree, the little wing chord progression is still in my opinion one of the most beautiful of all time, specifically the Bm, Am, C, G, F towards the end. Not only rhe best guitarist in music history but also one of the overall best artists
@@LOLLYPOPPEhe only lived till he was 27. Didn’t get much of a chance to write later. Hahaha
Such great right hand technique,so relaxed. Awesome playing.
yeeeah. realyl cool to sing along too!
man that tone is beautiful...beautiful playing
The trusty tabs inside my head! Consistently beats ultimate-guitar! :-P
Quality!!! Never tire of watching this!!!!
One of my all time favorite songs - thanks!
Thanks man! Eh... I'm pretty sure it's in tune - ha! I've tried it all man, I'm happy with how it is now, but thanks for the advice! :-D
One of the best playing on TH-cam
Practice! :-) Hours and hours of Practice! :-P

Nowadays they might be
One of my favorite videos on this Planet!♥️
what kind of amp/effects do you use?
Your sound is awesome!
You are just champion Jimi!!!
What do Jimi Hendrix, John Mayer, Pilky, and Jamie Harrison all have in common

none of them is able to play?
Wolfgang Rittner bro please tell me that was a joke
@@tassobear cap.
Wolfgang Rittner just John Mayer
Some of the most beautiful guitar playing i’ve ever heard. Will surely be buying the lesson.
Great job! Keep them coming :)
You fancy guitarists with your long fingers and thumbs. Sounds great, nonetheless. Wish I could reach those chords though.
Ever hear of Django Reinhardt? listen to a song by him, and then watch a video of him playing. Its surprising to say the least.
Further demonstrates the remarkable genius of Hendrix in creating his music
that feel really is something you can't teach
I still can't believe I can learn to play like this ever with so much clean sound. I've been playing guitar on and off for 10 years like a fruciante style the last two years and I'm trying to play like John Mayer now, but Jimi is the King and to hard to Master.
Bold As Love 7 min Instrumental Version
I can't find this anywhere. YT blocked this due to a copyright claim by SME.
Man, i've just found a gem and YT blocks it. I WAS INSANELY INTO IT NOW I CANT HEAR IT NO MORE.
Please, somebody... help...
i'm so cold...

+O Cobarde vimeo.com/136763024 was it this one?
Thank you so much!
That's the one!
Did you just go to vimeo and typed Bold As Love Instrumental?
I'm dumb, anyways... thank you again.
You're awesome.
+O Cobarde haha np, i used to listen to this track on youtube alot too, but it got taken down and have been trying to find it for ages. Literally found this a couple of days ago
+Rory Phillipson This conversation saved my life guys, i was gutted when it was taken off of YT

awesome feeling, and this guitar is perfect for playing hendrix
Beautiful! This is the best version of Jimi's song I've seen. Way better than Mayer's. I just thought you should've used a crunchier tone, but that's just me. Gratz!
As someone who found Hendrix through Mayer I don´t understand all of the hate on his version. Could you please explain?
Most of the way this guy is playing this version comes from the mayer version. People need to stop hating on mayer.
BrendanxD I don't know where you saw hate on my comment. I just said this guy's version is better than his, to my ears at least. No shame in that. I'm a Mayer fan, if that counts for anything.
where you can find the original version of John Mayer?
@marko , well you are on TH-cam . Search for "John Mayer - bold as love" there's a wonderful live version where he's in a suit and tie. Butttttt Jimi has a few studio versions of this. One with words is really good. The BEST version in my opinion is the 7 minute long instrumental version Jimi Hendrix recorded. So beautiful. It's track #7 on one of the box set cd's . The one with sgt pepper, gypsy eyes and Gloria. Been jamming this for years.
Thanks for all your videos
They help me find new voicings
Would you consider making a tutorial for the basic chord shapes, and how to practise them to eventually get them? I've been strugling with this style for years, and I just can't get them clean like you. Wonderful job covering a great song, Actually I prefer some of your licks to the original!
It's in inside the lesson bro

You're commenting on a 5 year old comment bro
So bro? Amazing lesson .do it nnnn gl
U2 bro
Ur comfort level is great dude, I always get nervous when I attempt hendrix or mayer honestly. And i can never get the timing and pacing for the overall mood on any of their songs. So i dont risk it and shy away when im playing in front of anyone
1:33 Ha that made me pay attention
I can't get over how good this is
1:07 dude how do you do that ? sounds amazing
+Leon Weber it's pull off from the 9th to 6th fret on the G string followed by a single pluck of the 7th fret of the D string
Amazing clean tone and fantastic playing.

Perfect cover and perfect clean effect. Greetings from Venezuela.
A couple of people mentioned that! Didn't realise it would be so significant but thanks a lot!!
that strat just sounds....perfect...
Sounds great. This is one I haven't tried to learn yet, but will be next after watching this.
You play very smooth...very nice to hear, very clean.
I LOVE THE SOUND OF YOUR GUITAR !
Great Job my friend! I've been looking for things like this. It saves so much time when transposing things. Thanks for doing the work and playing it so well.
Great video. I was tired of delays and overdrives. Fantastic. Very clean and clear.
Man I've recently discovered you, and brother you are so on point with everything you play. Great feel!!!
unbelievable playing man, so smooth!!
Just bought your lesson! thanks for the hard work! Best version around here!
Bought slow dancing in burning room lesson…. Buying a pack soon, best lessons out there
I already learned this whole song from Marty Schwartz’s free tutorial but in the end, it just didn’t sound quite right, and it felt like something was missing (no hate to Marty, I think his tutorials have gotten me far in my beginner days and even further along my progress). Thanks you!
