This machine needs to stay in the store. Let the everyone play and enjoy. It's symbolizes the beginning of Joe and Ron's classic gaming.
We like it when you TALK. ❤️ We learn so much from U and RON.
Thanks William, You are one of our best viewers
A big part of the reason I'm in this field is because I like the history behind all the games, so I enjoy stories like this. That game has definitely been around LOL.
Joe we love the channel. Thanks for sharing! And yes you should keep this!
Ha Joe. Its nice to have a old friend back. We like all your stories about the machines and the people who work on them. 👍😁👍. Bob.
Talk as much as you want, Joe! You're great to listen to, and it's fun to hear your knowledge and experience.
And the stories, many of us love the stories.
I enjoy the commentary. It's interesting to hear the history/backstory of these old classics. Keep up the great work.
Cool how it keeps coming home. Amazing how the CRT's last.
I think the power supply, Power Supply, POWER SUPPLY t-shirts are in the works. I sensed some foreshadowing in this episode. 😂
Joe , your videos are fantastic. Love hearing you tell stories, and going through the machines. Keep up the good work 👍 Power supply , power supply , power supply !
That game has made you a fortune 😁 I have a story for you I just picked up a game yesterday for a gentleman that’s moving back to South Carolina. I got home and was watching some of your past videos and there it was sitting in your shop. The video was about how it had been converted from Spy Hunter to Road Riot 4 wheel drive. I texted him and asked him if he had bought it from you. He responded back that he had bought it from a guy in Charleston. I came in from my shop sat down to watch your video on the game that loves you so much it keeps coming back. So I had to tell you my story.
Yes I remember that one, Same guy got a Crane machine from us also
Steiner math reference made my day!
My former supervisor interviewed at Williams in the early 90's. He told us he got to see them doing motion capture, either Mortal Kombat 2 or 3. He also got to meet Aerosmith while they were doing video and voice work for Revolution X
I have the exact setup for my Mortal Kombat arcade. I got it from my parents when I was like 16 years old back in 2001. I still have it now lol.
When I was a teen, I made good friends with the manager at the arcade at my local mall. He had a few cabinets at home that he enjoyed playing. He told me he had a Defender cabinet, but the motherboard was fried. We converted the Defender cabinet to a Street Fighter II. Once it was done, we test-played it until we were sick of the game.
Looks better with the yellow t molding in my opinion
i love when you talk about these games Joe! Great video ^O^ keep em comin!
I would not want to pick a favorite of your all’s videos, but if I did, it could be this one.
That’s very nice of you to say, Mandy!
The way i see it. Ive been watching your videos for years. I get home from my job, have dinner, do the things i need to do. Then, i head down to Joe and Rons arcade and pinball repair shop. I hang out and look over their shoulder learning how these things work. I enjoy your commentary and stories. Keep up the fine work you both do as i like hanging out at the shop.
Thanks!
I love your rants and story’s joe. Keep doing them. I usually learn something from them.
You need to rename that unit "boomerang."
Joe, I like Ron's videos. They are great. To be honest, I prefer your videos. You can talk all you want. No offense to Ron. I would like to see more Joe videos. I think it's broke. The red trim at once had looked really nice. You should put that back on there.
I love both, but always love Ronnie’s EM pinball ones just that 1% more, purely for the subject matter. I enjoy the crossover universe ones where Joe is also in a pin repair one or Ron appears in an video game one. Bit like Lavern and Shirley appearing in an episode of Happy Days, if that makes sense. Probably not … 😉 Love you both guys! Regards
Great story Joe! Talk all you want, were listening! Thanks for the video! Have a nice weekend guys.
I walk to 7-11 & back every night just listening to your videos for the talk. 😊. You and you brother are good talkers 😊
The yellow looks great on it. Nice job.
Videos are great! Thanks Joey!!
Its great that you keep it going and get to hand it off to the next buyer. At least it doesnt sit somewhere and the owner keeps telling himself/ herself that they are going to fix it one day. I dont buy off Amazon much cause i use Ebay, but when i do order something from there i will be sure to use yur link fo sure. Keep up the Great work and Content.
For comfortably using a cellphone to record (and avoid the finger in the corner of the frame), I'd recommend the Manfrotto Pixi mini tripod, with a 1/4" thread cellphone clamp. It's good to use as a mini tripod (the swivel top is easy to position), but if you fold in the legs, it becomes a pretty comfortable one-handed grip.
Did a very good job at painting that
i am totally blind and used to run an arcade that is why i am blind for sure love this channel keep talking joe love that it's broke say it all the time at the farm i live at
I love hearing you talk. I love your accent.
You couldn't get away with selling the same hamburger four times.
Nothing wrong with kit cabinets... heck, half the machines I probably played back in the day were kits...and not all of them well done! Kits are more authentic than these collector pieces! =)
Same here I am not big fan of GoPro after using one !
See, normally if you buy an arcade game, you got a 50/50 chance that it's BROKE. But I'm a genetic freak and I'm not normal! So you got a 25%, AT BEST, for it to work. Then you add Joe to the mix, your chances that it's broke drastically go up. 3 games, you got a 33 1/3 chance that it's broke, but I, I got a 66 and 2/3 chance that it's broke, because power supply, power supply, power supply!
So anyway, this thing has had 300 owners.
Haha classic!
Thank you for another great video, Joe.
Joe, today is not April 2nd. That was 6 weeks ago. Let's pick up the pace guys, lol.
MATT or JOE, some arcade games NVRAM gets corrupted or causing issues when using switching power supplies because of the timing issues of the read/write times of the NVRAM, any reasons why this happens only with switching power supplies and NVRAMs in arcade games?
Joe, you know that defender/mortal combat machine is just trying to come back home to you. Just me I would switch it back to a defender, then the cabinet will be happy. :)
How do I get your assistance on getting a game working?
My Tempest cabinet i saved was turned into a mortal kombat 2. With mismatched joysticks for both players and the marque was just a big piece of paper glued or something over marquee glass. It was a major hack job. But i bought it on fb marketplace for 50 bucks. The side art was completely restored thanks to a bunch of acetone and hard work. The marquee i used a spray down of goo gone. And airplane stripper for the control deck that had 2 over lays pver the original. I had to get high quality reprints unfortunately for those. And the cpo will be forever bumpy with the buttons drilled in underneath. But there is boards of wood attacked to buttons to not fully push through
Joe is need some help. It’s on my Bobby Orr pinball machine the led driver board on mine is missing screws that hold it on where can i get some and what type goes in there the one that’s in mine doesn’t look right . I had to replace my led board . I took your advice and tried everything else . Love your videos. Keep them coming.
Hey joe just wondering did you something to the monitor since MK runs at 53hz vs defender running at 60hz?
No we didn't
@@LyonsArcade i have the pcb but can't play it because of the 53hz refresh. Lcds don't care for it to much.
Thanks!
Thank you JBCOOLSTEEL!
I just picked up a centuri “the pit” all original and working 1980s cocktail table arcade. Its serial numbered #23…. The top of the table has some wearing on the sides of the graphic under the glass but other than that the screen and game still work great and the computer components all look extremely clean as well. Any idea what that’d go for? I scooped it for $100 so I’m just curious, I know the game itself isn’t at all desirable but just trying to get an idea. Thanks!
Which promo was better? Punk's Pipebomb or Scott Steiner's Maths?
I liked Steiner Math better
Am I losing it or do you sound different? I listen to your videos when I work during the day. Repairing pinball machines is very interesting to me.
Must be broke!
@@LyonsArcade 😄
i've got a conversion cab mk like this! mine is a dynamo cab, originally rough rangers from capcom. never heard much about rough rangers, you guys ever have one of them roll through?
passed more times around than a joint!
Press center button for defender....
Forgive my ignorance but can the games be fitted with led screens instead of the tubes? I know it ends the retro feel but just wondering.
Yes they can
yep bob roberts that's old school arcade right there older than todd tuckey you think?
repurposing the Defender cabinet offers someone viable option. for a kitted MK, one of the cleaner ones. the same cabinet keeps finding its way 'home'. maybe someday someone will want to convert it back. till then, freshen er up, new owner enjoy it for awhile
The Detective COLUMBO
i dont think you talk enough lol love the vids
Awesomeness
Hey Joe!!
Hey Jason!
if they do not like the talking funny thing all things have a volume control they and turn off the sound. If you all are not talking how we going to learn anything so keep talking that's why we are watching video's that are so long all the way through. I see others think the same way I do.
The defender
If I use the Amazon link on you page to order computer parts. Will you Guys get credit for it ?
Yes I think so, if you click the link first and then order the items after, It doesn't work on the APP tho you have to do it on a computer
Thanks!
