The current model has been around since 2014, so is it still the market leader when it comes to comfort and technology, or has the BMW 7 Series made it look old fashioned. I get behind the wheel of an S350 diesel to find out in this video of the current Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

BMW is the main rival for Mercedes, and iDrive is better than Mercedes software.He just want to create an idea for comparison.Another phrase you might spot in his reviews is the Adaptive dynamic suspension for BMW :D !
but seriously iDrive is indeed much much much better interface and user-friendly to use than MB's Command...
it's true. I have first hand experience as my X5's system is so intuitive that even my mother mastered it in one sitting.

Volsund my dreamcar aswell, my dad had the previous model of this and now he bought the new 7 series, but i wanted him to buy this one. i feel like crying 😭 the 7 isnt a bad car either, on contrary its an amazing car but the s class is better in my opinion

If that's the type of car it takes to make driving through central London bearable, I'm glad I don't live in central London.

That English wine was Nyetimber - over £30 a bottle at Waitrose and recommended as excellent. Rumour has it The Queen serves it. Not sure I'd want a diesel though.

I really cant get the idea of the sportiness in this class . This is luxury limousine, it should isolate you from the outside world, no to put a smile on your face while driving on a back roads. If I'm after sporty feel it is much better to take BMW5 or Audi A6 - this is the better compromise between sport and luxury. But when you take the luxury class then it is pointless to look any further then S-class

I would just like to say that the Sclass is worse in class for standard equipment, check thoroughly whats actually on there not how big the list is, a Audi A6 has more standard equipment in some cases

1. It's impossible to judge reliability of that young models. If you knew what you're talking about, you'd know this.
2. I doubt the Lexus is more comfortable than the S-Class. Never heard something like this from any tester.

I found this exact car 2017 s350d at $62423 is it over priced? It is still on 37000kms. Just want to get advise before if this is a good buy?
We still don't know if the s350d is coming to North America and I don't understand why the British are being denied the all wheel drive model... I'm looking at the s350d and the s500e pretty hard.

The most elegant S Class Maybach to date. The newer model is super tech but this version is utter elegance!

Having used both cars the 7 series is far superior as a more sporty car. The s class seems to be designed for 70 plus and really feels it. I would never buy one over a 7 series as they are a much better drive and have better engines and kit.

How can possibly Mercedes competitors beat Mercedes in its flagship S class segment? Mercedes has always taken top-bottom approach whereas the BMW and audi have taken bottom-up approach...
very nice car, and really cool review, but the sound is a little bit low...
It is just gorgeous, easily beats the 7 series and A8 when its down to looks, both inside and out. But those to will be renewed soon so very curious to see what they come up with to try and beat this S class.

You have never mentioned in any previous s-class reviews that the center console buttons feel cheap... what about 7-series and A8 buttons which are not all finished in metal?

Do you guys realise that this car is the only car on carwow that all 3 passengers had their thumbs up to?
I don't understand why manufacturers think the definition of luxury is having to sort through menus on a screen with a little touch thing on the console while you're trying to drive just to make a minor adjustment to the car. Give me quality, comfort, and make everything simple and elegant. If I'm buying a $100,000+ car i want to press one button to turn things on, adjust the a/c with one knob, etc.. I'm not spending more money to work harder and complicate simple things.

The exhaust on the v8 models is dual tip exhaust right out the rear bumper. Not sure why they did a faux exhaust on the diesel. That is odd
