Sam Yoo That's where you're wrong. If I can afford a 10 year old S-class today, I doubt there will be any problems getting this in 15 years. Add that the price on gas will be about a third higher by then and the second hand-price of these will drop like a stone in water. I will however still not be able to afford insurance or gas for it, but I will have to car! :)
PureS0u1 Yes, but after 15 years those who bought it after 10 years will have replaced much of the parts that broke down, making it easier to maintain. Or so I hope.
i dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Garrett Mateo Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
+chancy319 Naah. Been driven in a BMW 5 and 7 series. An Audi A4, A6, and A8 and a Mercedes E and S class. From the perspective of a rear seat passenger i would say that the Mercedes S class is the best but the A8 definitely a better car than the BMW 7 series.
I thought when I was 20 or 25, that I liked Ferraris and wanted a roadcar that would feel like a racing car. And I thought that when I got old, like 40 or 45, I might want a luxury car like an S class. Now I'm 52, which is not all that old any more... There is a certain appeal about a big luxo barge, and the top S class is about as high up that tree as you can get, but you know what? I hanker these days after a Pagani Huayra. The La Ferrari is nice too, but semi-electric and all very new-age. Mr Pagani has built the car I have dreamed of all these years. I might also have a front engine rear drive 4 door, with some performance and handling, for more day-to-day things, but the S class is just not something I lust after. A new 991 gen GT2 turbo, yes - very much so, even if I am an old man now. Maybe it'd kill me inside a week, but that week ... what a way to go!
Karel Olaerts have you heard about a Mercedes that "was" cheap materials everywhere and less powerful engine? sorry brother but not gonna buy a VW engine that won't last above 200.000 KMs
A Merc S class is the ultimate car to own bcuz no other car can make you feel like you have succeeded in life.... & also its brilliantly engineered like no other car in the world .....
The steering ofset to left is a good thing for me. In my 2008 e280 (left hand drive), it allows me to relax my left elbow on the door sides while cruising on motorway and allowing right hand to grip more firmly but comfortably while overtaking for instance. also roundabouts are anti-clockwise, allowing the same benefits.
Jonas Rosenven No dear it is not silly. Just read J.D.Power 2013 US VEHICLE DEPENDIBILITY STUDY ( VDS ) . Land rover is at the bottom of the list. Just confirm it.
So a Volvo V70 have a bad turning circle and this quite longer car hasn't? The lenght must be a problem when it comes to spaces as it should need much of it which is a problem in towns. This car looks to be at least 16,4 ft?
LED´s? That is what my 2009 E90 said as having for stop lights...and when I reviewed the light cluster, I found that a tiny traditional filament bulb was fitted into a socket which transmitted its light across 3 red stripes all along the back light cluster. Is that an LED?
I was about to order the new S63 AMG but my dad's friend working at MB advised me to wait for the S65 with the new direct injection V12 which is apparently going to be absolutely mindblowing in all regards. I wouldn't call this the 'long' version anymore as a stretched version is coming soon. Intermediate? And for the first time in the S-Class history, the L version looks more balanced than the SWB. Odd that such a huge car displays an offset steering wheel but mine will be LHD so alles gut ;)
I know, the point is that they advertised the facelift as having "LED stop lights", when they clearly are not. I wonder if these S class brake lights have the same working principle or if really there is a string of LED lights bacl there...
The Mercedes-Benz S Class is just pure first class motoring. If I had the money, I would buy a top of the range V12 AMG LWB any day over a Rolls Royce or Bentley equivalent and with the £175K I would save, I'd treat myself to a small motor boat too!
The S has come a long way since the more then dull 90s version :') I think if you want to buy a really big and expensive car, this is about the best you will get. I rather have this one than a Bentley. ;)
ive seen a flaw in this car if the passenger has the rear seat in the reclined position the front passenger seat tips forward(fair enough) until the driver comes to a junction and cant see through the side window as the seat is in the way lol
My list of the 2019 versions: 1. S Class 2. Jaguar XJ 3. Bmw 7 4. Audi A8 5. LEXUS Ls600hl Of the 2014 Versions: 1. S CLASS 2. AUDI A8 3. JAGUAR XJ 4. BMW 7 5. LEXUS LS600HL
Some time ago he refered that he owned a Mx-5 (which is for sale) and a Vauxhall Corsa, me thinks, Rebecca only speaks about her racing car, a Porsche Boxter
1:37 I reckon "Night Life mood" is supposed to be something energising and a bit hallucinogenic; "Sports mood" is easy: smells of sweat and burnt rubber; "Downtown mood" reverts exhaust flow into the cabin...
It's a comfortable car anyways, especially if you have air suspension. The Audi S7 can come with big wheels but because of air ride suspension it is a pretty nice ride.
Doesn´t that seat thrown to the front interfere with the driver´s vision of the rear view mirror? But being the germans as they are, I am sure they thought about that and did something about it...
+cameron-scott smith in the UK we have two diesels and then a 4 litre pertrol hybrid and a 5 litre petrol hybrid. Most people get diesels they hold the value better and although they cost around the same the diesels the best in the UK

"Rebecca reviewing a car almost as small as she is" :D Matt, You won there :D
I will totally buy this used in 15 years. Commence countdown!
still won't be able to afford it :-P

These things depreciate extremely quickly.
Lol in 10 years the car will be a bitch to maintain
PureS0u1 Yes, but after 15 years those who bought it after 10 years will have replaced much of the parts that broke down, making it easier to maintain. Or so I hope.
Matt has been a legend since times
He's the best car reviewer

@Garrett Mateo It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much, you saved my account :D

Haha, the steering wheel looks like a smiley face!
:D
Let's start a day with an smile on your face :)
Or a clown like you jk
"We can watch Rebecca reviewing a car almost small as her".
Ahahahaha
5:49 Why is there a KitKat on the floor?!!
Maybe he wanted to eat it, put it in the storage place, and it fell out. BTW are you indian too ?
Wow my friends thought electric rear windows were luxurious 😂
This made me cry
This is so luxury
Nothing can beat the S-Class in luxury or tech. FACT
and the E-Class is like it's younger brother
Karel Olaerts Skoda be like: Cheap Materials everywhere and less powerful engine
Karel Olaerts have you heard about a Mercedes that "was" cheap materials everywhere and less powerful engine? sorry brother but not gonna buy a VW engine that won't last above 200.000 KMs
Rolls Royce phantom extended wheelbase would be a.good competitor, no?
Well considering its starting price is around 200,000pounds......it should be
"We can watch Rebecca reviewing a car almost as small as her" ..That was funny!
One of the most exquisite reviews of the gorgeous new S Class. Fabulous. The posh snacks were perfect for this review. :)
A Merc S class is the ultimate car to own bcuz no other car can make you feel like you have succeeded in life.... & also its brilliantly engineered like no other car in the world .....
Literally one of the best reviews by carbuyer!
Awww Young Matt
What is the name of the music from 4:25 - 4:37?
I was blown away by the power of the 2015 s500
The steering ofset to left is a good thing for me. He's so calm today, i think the s class is extremely relaxing, like a mobile spa!
Now that's offensive: watching Rebecca reviewing a car as small as her.
lol
Why do you compare every car with the range rover?
Probably because he is british
Carwow is now 8 million. All thanks to this man
Now this is a proper S Class, and I can't get enough of those great violins!
RANGE ROVER IS CRAP. IT BREAKS DOWM EVEN IN SLIGHT RAIN. THAT IS WHY IT CAME LAST IN THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION RATING 2013.
Hi hi..that's just silly.
Jonas Rosenven No dear it is not silly. Just read J.D.Power 2013 US VEHICLE DEPENDIBILITY STUDY ( VDS ) . Land rover is at the bottom of the list. Just confirm it.
They don't stop driving because it rains on them.
If you had the money to pay for it...you probably would have an abundance to repair it too.
I am obsessed with this car! Simply the best
perfection, seriously if this is not an ultimate car then I don't know what is
So a Volvo V70 have a bad turning circle and this quite longer car hasn't? The lenght must be a problem when it comes to spaces as it should need much of it which is a problem in towns. This car looks to be at least 16,4 ft?
thats the built in rader used to detect objects in the front. Its for break assist and self driving..
What a piece of automotive engineering. The best car in the world without a doubt.
S 65 AMG my favourite pick of the range.
This looks so much better than the 2021 S class. 😂
I HAVE AN ECODRIVE SKYHAWK AT TOO!!! Got the BLUE ANGEL and the BLACK HAWK.I love this guy!
Mat, we all lose when your sense of humor goes dry. Always an entertaining review. And this new model S-class is remarkably innovative. Wow.
LED´s? That is what my 2009 E90 said as having for stop lights...and when I reviewed the light cluster, I found that a tiny traditional filament bulb was fitted into a socket which transmitted its light across 3 red stripes all along the back light cluster. Is that an LED?
Are there LEDs under the hood too? Mat has never been this funny, great, love it. loved the comment regarding Rebecca.
Anyone know why are car maker offsetting the steering wheel to the side?
My favorite part is the cup holders :)
Please provide links to the related cars reviews in the future. Somehow can't click on the screen.
using all leds is one of the small points of this car, the fact that it pretty much drives itself is what makes it revolutionary
I was about to order the new S63 AMG but my dad's friend working at MB advised me to wait for the S65 with the new direct injection V12 which is apparently going to be absolutely mindblowing in all regards. Cool story bro.
I have seen one with diamond stitching and two tone interior : navy blue seat and brown dashboard, that looks the best.
I know, the point is that they advertised the facelift as having "LED stop lights", when they clearly are not. I wonder if these S class brake lights have the same working principle or if really there is a string of LED lights bacl there...
This is the SE version in the video too, imagine top or mid spec!
The specs don't give cool features only like bigger wheels and interior finished if by spec you mean AMG line and not the actual AMG car
I don't think the off center steering wheel affects the left hand drive in the American model. It appears to only affect the European models.
Excellent reviewer but why did you not mention anything about the magic ride control?
he did
What a fantastic review ur the best car reviewre in the world
The Mercedes-Benz S Class is just pure first class motoring. If I had the money, I would buy a top of the range V12 AMG LWB any day over a Rolls Royce or Bentley equivalent and with the £175K I would save, I'd treat myself to a small motor boat too!
But if you had the money, go big or go home.
Is your watch a Citizen Blue Angels?
Why does he always mention this left shift of steering wheel?? I've driven many Mercs and never ever saw it.. I
The S has come a long way since the more then dull 90s version :')
I think if you want to buy a really big and expensive car, this is about the best you will get. I rather have this one than a Bentley. ;)
Nothing wrong with the Audi, but just like BMW they are in my opinion better with coupes and fast sedans, then with full size limousines. ;)
cant wait for this car to launch in my country . need to buy this
The finest luxury car on the planet. Period.
why is the seat on the wrong side of the car? custom made s class?
UK RHD version, we drive on the other side of the road here .....
Might be true, but on the other hand we can communicate without resorting to using the caps lock .......
So you are myopic and semi-literate? Thanks for the info ....
0:16 The Rock - man of the show
Actually the Lexus LS was the first to have that seating package. Controlling front seats as well.
Best reviewer online !
It's bad enough that the steering wheels are offset on so many Mercs lower down the range. But on this one too? What were you thinking Mercedes?
Beautiful car, what's that black patch thingy on the front grill?
So you can just lay in the back while the car drives itself?
Is the lang wheelbase and mercedes maybach the same
why you didnt test the magic body control? is it worth the money or not
ive seen a flaw in this car if the passenger has the rear seat in the reclined position the front passenger seat tips forward(fair enough) until the driver comes to a junction and cant see through the side window as the seat is in the way lol
Does it have rear electric windows as standard? Or you have to pay extra?
Standard. My A180 has rear electric windows so this defo will.
why not? its not a base model golf
Please do a review on the Bentley Flying Spur
Top class, love the interior Mercedes-Benz have done an excellent job on the new S-Class W222
You've been reviewing so many small cars that this thing looks massive next to you.
What's the incidental background music, I recognise it but just can't place it, don't troll it with Derude Sandstorm, cheers
Could it be a version of this?

Some time ago he refered that he owned a Mx-5 (which is for sale) and a Vauxhall Corsa, me thinks, Rebecca only speaks about her racing car, a Porsche Boxter
You may be correct Winter, as it happens i saw this a review last week of a LS 600 using electric and gas and can't compare to the benz.
Love the new S Class. Better than anything else!
the exterior of the previous one looks better for me.
but the interior is just stunning.
FINALLY A CAR REVIEW
is the 600 v12 or s65 available in this new s class yet?

Enjoyed your review and accent much better than Auto Express.....
Best s class ever, still looks amazing, and way better than the new one in fact.
Is the car still working?
5 yrs left bro 😂 I think u should try now
Looking smart today....nice one matt
1:37 I reckon "Night Life mood" is supposed to be something energising and a bit hallucinogenic; "Sports mood" is easy: smells of sweat and burnt rubber; "Downtown mood" reverts exhaust flow into the cabin...
check the BMW 218 grand coupe, steering not in front of you either!!
It's a comfortable car anyways, especially if you have air suspension. The Audi S7 can come with big wheels but because of air ride suspension it is a pretty nice ride.
Love this car! Now, to try and acquire one...
Doesn´t that seat thrown to the front interfere with the driver´s vision of the rear view mirror? But being the germans as they are, I am sure they thought about that and did something about it...
The AC vents reminds me of Rolls Royce Phantom, which is great ! :)
there's an s350 in england? all we get in america are s500's s550's and s600's
In USA u only get gasoline s class?
Aleksandar Ivanovic that and a plug in hybrid
+cameron-scott smith bruh u have no type of fuel economy for a car that is enormous
Aleksandar Ivanovic lol exactly
+cameron-scott smith in the UK we have two diesels and then a 4 litre pertrol hybrid and a 5 litre petrol hybrid. Most people get diesels they hold the value better and although they cost around the same the diesels the best in the UK
"Rebecca reviewing a car almost as small as she is" :D Matt, You won there :D
The exterior of the car is nothing to write home about in my opinion...but the interior is just wow. It really is like being in a private jet
yes 😂😂
