This is the most-competent review, I had the luck to watch in regard to the PS3-move. Thank you very much. For me, it means to keep my Tennis-club-membership despite its high cost & review motion-control-games-equipment, PSx-move in circa 5 years time.
i like how you go in depth with the Motion controller and all the pro's & con's of the game while using the PS Move. Thanks, Good job, it looks like you put a lot of work into making the video & your other videos. i am a PS Move fan myself i will prefer if the game i'm purchasing is PS Move Compatible because i like it when the Dev's integrate different types of controls to the game because there are different ways to enjoy the game. Keep up the good work!! :) Thanks
When the sphere is not visible by the camera, the data (still) provided by the inertial sensors allow to estimate Move position for about 5 seconds before the tracking starts going off. Which is enough in most circumstances (ie: when swinging a golf club). There are also some benefits to it. In some fighting games you can taunt your opponent by bringing the Move behind your back. A flashlight-based game in Start The Party asks to "hide the flashlight" when light-seeking ghosts appear... :)
One of the best reviews i have seen on the net! I love the way you say Torso! When you started swinging the controller around I was laughing out loud at work. I purchased Grand Slam Tennis 2 for the PS3 (Already played and sold Top Spin 3 for the PS3) and I was very dissappointed. The controls are not that Move friendly and I was so upset I went out and bought Top Spin 3 again for the Xbox 360.
@Thoumout I'd say Top Spin 4 is a more realistic simulation overall. But neither do really make good use of the Move. Avoid both if you are looking for a Move tennis game. Perhaps wait for Electronic Arts' Grand Slam Tennis 2 (comes out in February).
I have Grand slam tennis on ps3 for my playstation move and it works great! I do love Virtua tennis 4 but I play that on my PS Vita mainly as its so fun on the go
Thanks for the terrific review. Basically, you convinced me to stay away from both and get Sports Champions. I think the fact that the 3 consoles all have different motion sensor systems will prevent any third party publisher from releasing deeply integrated motion based games. We're gonna need Sony to release a tennis game to get a proper Move integration.
True that. But while you can require the player to physically move around the room when playing a table tennis sim (since you don't move that much in real life), in a tennis one, providing the same degree of freedom would presume a room the size of half an actual tennis field (your side) and a huge screen behind the imaginary net. There is no way around this limitation. You either have the avatar move by itself or provide the player a stick based control method.
The part where you were swinging the move controller around in Virtua Tennis 4 was just hilarious. And sad that it's actually like that. I had high hopes for the game but I'm definitely not getting it now. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if Sports Champions 2 gets announced, and maybe it will have a tennis game on it.
amazing and very detailed review! Just bought TopSpin4 and was very disappointed with MOVE implementation - it really way behind Zindagis Table Tennis which goes free along with PS3 Slim console + MOVE bundle
At what level of difficulty are you playing? Do outs, faults still don't exist in the most advanced hard difficulty level? And you still hit the ball no matter the motions you make with the "PS3 Move"?
Don't you find it a little simple with how the player is moved automatically toward the ball though? One thing I loved about table tennis in Sports Champions 1 was how there is no avatar in normal play, so you have to really physically move around to get your shots right. In Tennis your avatar moves toward the ball so you just have to reach out.
Great review! I love how in depth you go with your move videos. Let's me know if it's something I want to buy or not. Hopefully they make a tennis game as good as Sports Champions did with table tennis. I will say that TS4 look alot better with the visuals, but I'm not sure i I will be picking up either of these games until they drop some in price.
@baboosted The real life video is flipped to give a better representation of how my motions are replicated on screen. I'm actually using the right hand ;).
After playing DEMO, have just installed Sports Champions 2 and I am playing tennis there with PS Move. I think it has VERY good sensitivity a reacions to MOVE.
Thank you for your detail reviews on both games. Though you were hater at first but as I watched on, you made many good points. It's really down to arcade like or simulation. I think I will go for Virtua Tennis 4 for it's graphic and arcade like play. I can see why people tend to go for Modern Warfare compare to Battlefield. It's like Virtua Tennis and Top Spin =D!
At times it can get frustrating if your character doesn't move fast enough. But overall I think it's a better system than having to hold the Move Navigation Controller in my left hand. I don't like the Nav Controller, even with slow paced games. You do control going to the net and you can move around while serving and receiving. Another thing is the game is so immersive and intense that you end up moving anyway, even though you don't have to. So you have to be careful with furniture, etc.
The elementary flaw of the PSx-move is its 'light-ball', which must never be behind ones body; else the PSx-move-receiver can not detect its distance. Next review to watch is the Kinect.
Really good and thorough review, but what a letdown that neither of the games have proper Move implementation. After all they are both at version 4 so you should have thought that they would have had plenty of time to create the perfect tennis game.
I think Sports Champions 2 is the best tennis game. The Gold and Champion cup levels are intense. It's very sensitive in recreating real tennis play. If you can't produce the exact tennis shot you want it's either because you lack the skill or that the physics won't allow it. For example, if the ball is coming with too much pace you're not going to be able to pull it across court. At times all you can do is stick your racket out to use the ball's force to keep it in play, just like real tennis.
Do you have a video for Grand Slam Tennis 2, because I played Virtua Tennis 4 and GST2 and both felt like you are not given any penalties, on GST2, I just need to move my arm backwards and my player shot the ball, while in VT4 it felt more realistic, but I guess its not because whatever move you do it shoots. Don't get these developers, sorry for the flood..
Wow this is the most in depth review on youtube this is a top notch review. Thanks guys.
A very comprehensive video. I was googling endlessly on what the best tennis game ps move has to offer. Thanks for your effort. Keep it up.

Thanks for advice, decided to buy sport champions 2 ;)
Kwiatowy styl good choice ;)
Grand Slam Tennis 2. Analysis coming up as soon as possible by the way. Currently busy on other stuff.

Do we have advanced equipment to directly connect to my smart/ android TV bluetooth?
Good video. Very straightfoward without all the antics. I don't think I'll be investing in virtua tennis or the move for top spin.

Nowadays what would you recommend?
I have Grand slam tennis on ps3 for my playstation move and it works great!
I do love Virtua tennis 4 but I play that on my PS Vita mainly as its so fun on the go
IIRC I didn't change anything in the options. Maybe it'a a multiplayer thing? Does he say actual names in single player?
Did you access the Motion Play section? It should ask you to calibrate the controller there.

The best review I have ever seen. Period.
Thanks!
Hilarious review. Funniest I've seen in a long time. Thanks dude.
Thanks for the analysis. It helped a lot in decision making.
Excellent comparison! Thanks for the time taken to do this.

May I say, excellent review!!
Very nicely done.
Are you going to do a short video on Blob 2?
Virtua Tennis 4: No
Top Spin 4: Yes

Sports Champions 1 and 2, Move Fitness (EU only for now - requires 2 Moves), Grand Slam Tennis 2.
Don't you find it a little simple with how the player is moved automatically toward the ball though? It's a "special" PS3 for the press capable of running codes still in development.
@Zepthire Interested in that. Will see if I can get my hands on it.
thumbs up for your review, awesome! the way you swinging your move makes me laugh in the morning xD
For Virtua Tennis, were you by any chance playing on an easy difficulty setting?
Great review! I love how in depth you go with your move videos. Let's me know if it's something I want to buy or not. Hopefully they make a tennis game as good as Sports Champions did with table tennis.

Umm hello??? Sports Champions 2 has really good tennis.
Thank you for another informative, high-quality analysis.
@baboosted The real life video is flipped to give a better representation of how my motions are replicated on screen. I'm actually using the right hand ;).
Great! Can you tell me which is the best tennis game for the PlayStation Move.
You saved me a lot of money. Thanks for the detailed review!
I love your accent! And nice video quality. Subscribed!
Complimenti ! ... piu che una prova hai fatto un vero e proprio test dei giochi ! ;)
jeez, top spin 4 is pretty difficult
You are the man, great work
no, but it's easier to hold it compared to the left side of the DS3. Especially when standing up.
Fabulous review. Very detailed. Keep it up.
Best Move channel ever :)
@QuestOtix Works with a DS3 as well.
@Waggle3D Haha thank you for the reply! I love your videos! Keep it up with your awesome PS3 test unit haha
so does top spin 4 work online with the ps move?didn't have time to watch all the video so i'm sorry is you already explained that.
Very good analysis.
Looks like you were fed up around 9:10 like what is this nonesense
After playing DEMO, have just installed Sports Champions 2 and I am playing tennis there with PS Move. I think it has VERY good sensitivity a reacions to MOVE.
This is old. But ITS so funny!!! 😂😂Excelent review!!
To make it clear: to play with these games I have to buy Move AND PS4 camera too...??? Thank You for your answer. I’m new at PS4...
Great review, thanks. Trying to justify buying move and selling my wii, but I guess I'll look into it a little more.
Excellent movie, congratulations !

Awesome review
great great great review. can you please advice which best sports game for ps3 move? thanks
Brilliant review, so helpful .
You should get more views than this. Why aren't many people viewing his vids?
The elementary flaw of the PSx-move is its 'light-ball', which must never be behind ones body; else the PSx-move-receiver can not detect its distance.

Grazie per il video ma Top Spin 4 non si può utilizzare col solo controller move?
Hopefully they announce some new move games at E3
thanks for the review, it confirms me that i should spend my money in another game different of both.
