It was that way in the original Top Spin as well,they obly did it off camera, so the ones closest to the Net would actually move between rounds if a ball hit the net, but you would never see them actually grab the ball.
@@supersasukemaniac the smart thing to do is for them to stop being deceptive and just remove them if they aren't going to make them retrieve balls in real time. The mere presence / image creates a mental illusion = "Deceptive Practices"

@@hoodietiger2178 Sorry but in my opinion I don't think that graphics matter at all, as long as the whole game doesn't crash. We are all so caught up with 'realism' and 'oh stunning 4K graphics' and things like that, when for me, all I want is a fun game. I couldn't care less about graphics. You might say 'oh you're holding the next gen back with that comment' and things like that, and fine I don't care. But it's just my opinion.
@@jordanking7711 yeah except for the fact the gameplay mechanics are trash. They look exactly like Topspin 4, so not only do we have old gen graphics, we have old gen gameplay mechanics. TTWO shareholders love people like you.

Your opponent definitely did have a serve and volley play style intended, you can tell by looking at his attributes. The serve and volley scores were much higher than anything else. Good to see the AI playstyle in game is adjusted to match the individual opponent strengths and weaknesses.

Gameplay looks fun but 1 tournament a month is ridiculous. Especially if you need to rest. That and no real named players or academy type thing from AO Tennis is a real deal breaker for career mode
Think of it this way If this game is supported well enough they will get more players rights in the future editions

@@shamus3477 I've done that with Big Ant's cricket games and the state they're released in now is unacceptable when it's been going for 10 years. And that's a much smaller company that 2K which has the budget. It just makes it look so bare bones which is such a disappointment and not really on when they're charging full price for these games (a game they admit is built on the last game, over 10 years ago).
I totally get what you're saying and the logic but it's just another big company exploiting the smaller but more desperate for demand of certain sports games. If it sells really well, they'll just make minimal improvements but it will show they can get away with it. It's not Early Access or Kickstarter.

I have the Grand Slam edition. I'm confused. I'm supposed to be ranked up or boost it to level 10, but I'm still at level 0. How does it work to get to 10 if you have the Grand Slam edition? Thank you@@CaptainGoodspeed
The ASB Classic is actually a real tournament
Wish it would have been a little more realistic. It has probably skmething to do with portrait rights, but i counted only about 8-10 real players. Would have been way more fun if they had the real top 300-500 ATP ranking at the start of 2024 for example l, and you had to play the real ATP calender by choosing tournaments(ATP and Challenger/futures). Maybe in a future game
considering Big Ant and Nacon have Tiebreak coming out, which is fully licensed with the ATP and WTA, the fact that TopSpin has any pro players, and all the Majors and Grand Slams in the game is pretty impressive.
@@supersasukemaniac I’m not that familiar in the gaming industry. Is that Tiebreak game better?
@@BonJ-zl2kp From what i saw, tiebreak looks worse. They simply have ATP and WTA licenses. It's the same commpany that developed Ao tennis

there are lot of swing animations, they are just purchasable through the pro shop. you only start with like 3 default.

One thing that the Early TopSpins had that I wonder if this one does to, is the, I think in TopSpin 2, one of your goals in your carrer was to play for your nation in the Davis Cup style international team competition that the game featured.

Not what i would prefer but i can live with 1 tournament a month it may just be an attribute thing but stamina after winning the first tournament i had to take 2 months off to fully recover that has surely got to be fixed

Honestly this looks like a lot of fun outside of the fact that the footwork animation looks weird, doesn’t look fluid
Career mode looks so empty and repetitive it gived you so little to look at outside of the 'podcast' idea, which is very generic anyway. Of course we're not expecting or even wanting NBA 2K levels of MyPlayer content but they could have been more inventive with it. There's less to it than even the UFC games.

The last GREAT tennis game was Virtua Tennis 2009. Everything else has been trash and trying to be way too realistic and takes the fun out of tennis. Soon as they introduced sensitivity or timing of shots into games, they all got ruined

@@CaptainGoodspeedAfter a certain point, there’s fuzziness and dropouts in game audio, but not VO. Happens over halfway. ~ 34:59 for a small fuzziness reference.
The last great tennis game was virtua tennis 2001 in my opinion @Captaingoodspeed
