Anytime I see Josh Gudwin in the title, I click. He’s an incredible mixer.
RE: ITL...I would have liked to listen to how the bass actually sat in the rest of the mix after all the processing.
Dave, thanks for speaking about the moments that aren't that much fun - very motivating to see that everyone has to go through that..
really inspirational.. i feel like i can relate somewhat to how he thinks of things but obviously at a way higher level
the in da ghetto - j balvin feels so freaking tight and punchy
Would love to know what he used on Dua Lipas Vocal chain... sounds amazing... Respect!
watch the "mix with the masters" intro featuring him, it's more like a vocal chain blockbuster
Thanks Dave & Co for you job of show
My god..just realized the vast majority of my current reference tracks are done by this guy. Great video guys 👌 oh, and thanks for the ITL..i need to get in the habit of using limiters on my bass more.
This is so good
So Jaycen Joshua did the mix on the original "Despacito" while Josh Gudwin mixed the "Despacito - Remix" featuring Justin Beiber?
other way around
Nah, I think that Josh only mixed Bieber's voice
the award on the left speaker looks like its about to fall..
What reverb did he say? White room by?
I think he's talking about a physical reverb room at Henson Studios in Hollywood.
Can somebody explain to me why a mixer gets praised so much for a song, new rules for example, when they don't know how it sounded before they mixed it? I mean he could have literally made subtle eq tweaks that 99% of people wouldn't even notice. Ian Kirkpatrick produced that song, was his finished product wildly different to josh goodwin's mix? Not hating just asking as a producer/writer
I mean ur kinda right lol josh tracks then mixes someone like bieber tho so he clearly is making the magic happen. While theres billie eilish engineer, who says her brother basically has it ready then he tweaks things. Most likely taking the wrong frequencies out which the consumer wouldnt hear nor care about lol. But some engineers make shit happen so we should give them their flowers.
That vocal reverb in Dont start now is mind-blowing for me! How can we do it?
that's why I am watching this episode, I want to know as well lol
@@maxuno8524 that vocal reverb is annoying
How do we know how the bass fits in the mix...if we never get to hear the mix ? We have zero reference point.
who are they talking about at 22:05?
Yooo.. St. Vincent in there!!! Im excited that the Caribbean are getting chance to win!!
Ayyyy this is really dope!!! Love this! 🤟
Saludos desde México
what reverb Josh mention about? white reverb?
Did Dave write the pensado theme song?
I'd assume he mixed it at least
Do we have to resign up every week? Is so how?
What was the summing he said?
SPL MixDream
This aged well
💘
Suuuuuper awkward intro lol
😱😱
круто
That's cool .. amazing mixer, but Despacido....Bieber... No soul music man
It's house music, buy a house music.
Oh right is it how it’s called ?
Fantastic man , so that’s your deam I guess yeah ?
*'listening to despacido* wakes up from the best dream ever
Plugin overload ! - when Buying plugins always remember they have a resale value of - fuck ALL !
That guy is an incredible mixer, but I think that one song "New Rules" has lead vocal not treated properly. It sounds so harsh in the high frequencies and it sounds to me like a mix mistake or what. Everything else from Josh sound amazing of course, just this one song has lead vocal way too harsh. What do you think?
Wow, i love that harsh highs! Haha
Yeah that vocal bothers me too, dead in the center and the highs are a little too much
Im a bit late but i feel the same when i listen to that song. Vocals are too harsh for my personal taste
it doesnt sound harsh it sounds modern
HOORAY FOR JUSTICE KAVANAUGH:))) AND Great interview as always :)
