They did an excellent job. Not an easy song to cover specially on the vocal part. The song was originally composed having in mind Su's vocal range (obviously) and it was challenging even to her to perform it properly, specially when she was younger. To the point she uses this song to check her voice out before concerts.
Guitarist Saki is a big fan of Babymetal. The BM paraphernalia in the MV is Saki's. There are other connections, including that guitarist Hazuki studied under BM's Kami Band's late great guitarist Mikio Fujioka at Musicians Institute.
Displaying the Babymetal merch, nice touch ladies. I think the Babymetal camp would get a kick out of this, I know the girls would love it and the Kami band would be impressed.
The Nemophila lady's take on Kawaii Metal, is dangerous before they even start playing! Nemophila have made many cover versions of songs in his studio setting, during the pandemic.
Su sang it like an ancient maiden, Mayu sang it like modern punk rock girl but she nailed the breakdown tho. The verse of this song is really hard and Nemophila did good job bring a new flavor to it, but the song itself is like it was made for Su's vocal
It’s not easy to cover Babymetal well but Nemophila nailed it. Saki is a huge Babymetal fan with an extensive merch collection. #notacult I love how they did their hair to emulate Babymetal. They’re so endearing
hahahaha, your face #MinkoysCorner when you see the growls of MAYU!! NEMOPHILA is one of the emerging heavy bands in Japan, they are excellent!! And of course.... they are big fans of BABYMETAL!! 🦊🦊🦊🦊😍😍😍😍😍 in this year NEMOPHILA will come to America to some festivals....
🦊 ⛩ Everyone who isn't wearing a kimono, is wearing a BABYMETAL t-shirt. Mayu has a high ponytail, and the other members all have Yui & Moa style twin-tails.
It is a good cover - they are great fun and do some really good covers (as well as their own songs of course). They are well worth more reactions. Just a thought - the Babymetal version you watched was a compilation and I don't know why, but the person who made it used the studio audio, so you still haven't heard a live version (so no Kami Band, Su-metal's live vocals or audience joining in with Yui and Moa on this song) yet. Do a quick search for this title "Me-Git-Sune All Female Audience 2017" to find a great live version with an all female audience - look in the description for the same video without the logo over it. There are also another 20 or so Babymetal songs you haven't heard yet ... find the complete list on the Babymetal Reactor Resource channel in the description under the 'Future Plans' video to find the ones you didn't see yet.
Do you know the early interviews of BABYMETAL? The subtitles are in Latin, but it is a TV show where the girls talk about the beginnings of Fox Sign, etc. th-cam.com/video/eVy-OLvXVpM/w-d-xo.html
I love this cover and not just because of Hazuki in pigtails. Mayu and Su damn sure have different styles, but Mayu does a great job. I think the only thing that I don't entirely like about this cover is when Haraguchi-san steps up and does the line, "Nametara ikan ze yo." I'm not sure what more she could have done given the setting, but I would have liked her to put a little attitude on it. As it is, it feels like she's just saying the line because someone told her to. It's not a big deal, though.
Welcome to Nemophila covers! I know you have done some of their originals but now you get to discover some of their amazing covers. Try Rottengraffty, their 2 covers of Maximum The Hormone, Passcode, Loudness and Kiss for some other covers to check out.
The word you’re reaching for about the setting there is “intimate”. Their original Oiran is in the same space as are many of their covers. The thing about this is that it’s actually an exaggerated version of the original in a very subtle way. Mayu doesn’t use her power here at all in the first third of the song, seemingly intentionally accentuating the Kawaii and it sort of chugs along pleasantly… Until Mayu unleashes her version of hell which is an extreme exaggeration in the opposite direction. The whole song comes alive and then at the end Kawaii’s itself out. That fits with the theme of the song pretty well. This also shows what a fantastic voice Su has. She’s often overlooked as a vocalist because she’s in an idol band essentially, but good god she’s excellent. If only they’d let her do some of the stuff Mayu does, she ought to be owning the space.

Yep, that circle is their thing...they'll gravitate into it often. Love this band 🌸✨🌠
