    RIP John 💔 14/1/38- 1/6/21
John travelled up until a few years ago until he has a stroke. He lived life to the full seeing amazing sights! Dad passed away last week at 83 after 20+years of nomad lifestyle.

That van attempting to do a head-on with the truck at 13:50 was madness.

"Traveling forever?" There IS something about this nomadic lifestyle that is so attractive to so many, on so many different levels. But there is also an ugly side, that few talk about. I did it for about 5/6 years, enjoyed it a lot, but the breakdowns in the middle of no where, almost always in a no cell phone service area, not knowing where the reputable repair shops are, being ripped off, happened to often to the point where it finally got to me. Also although waking up to beautiful scenery every day can be breathtaking, after a while it too becomes mundane and too common. Having to constantly(most every day) be concerned about plumbing, waste, water , batteries, solar, having to find a place to park every night, security in unfamiliar territory, constant repairs(remember your house is constantly bouncing down the road so repairs happen way more often) even knowing where to get good services, groceries, etc. in a unfamiliar place, can became a real drag, after a while. Eventually, for me and others, if that does not get you down, old age health problems will eventually set in, and force one to stay close to home, near family doctors. Seems if traveling the roads for 5/6 years constantly, doesn't eventually get to you, eventually health problems will. So, always have an escape plan, if (or should I say when) it eventually, loses its appeal as I see it happening for so many(there are always exceptions, of course). As for meeting people along the road, It appeared to me, that if your personality is outgoing, you will probably go out of your way to meet other people. If you are more introverted, you can be very lonely. Nothing magically changes there, society on the road is pretty much the same as it is in your neighbourhood in a house. At first I was very impressed at how frugal i could live as a nomad. But with adding in the cost of the constant repairs, it turned out for me, to be a more expensive lifestyle. For all those reasons, I finally gave it up. I too, met many full time friends on the road back then, keep in touch, and NONE, no one, is still on the road today. Take that for what it is worth. With every dream, there are going to be some (gut wrenching) nightmares to deal with, which rarely get discussed, on videos like these.

For your 5-6 years living this lifestyle, were you in Australia or North America?

The more things change the more they remain the same
I didn't have a van..I walk with a walking trailer, always wildcamping along the way.
And it all breaks down...shoes, clothes, gear etc....I can tell it's a solitaire activity. Still meet enough people along the way. But yes it Al gets normal and setting up your camp many moons gets boring sometimes

Such a beautiful awesome life style. You do look younger then your age. You don't look a day over 65. Your very fit though. Beautiful content mix video!! I don't think you're homeless. You are just houseless. I think it is a wonderful life style for single or couples. Thanks for sharing!
