- In this episode, it's our first time in Martinique, and we're ready to explore... Join us as we head out on an independent excursion with Beyond The Beach Tours to explore the northern half of the island. We're sampling rum at Neisson Rum Distillery, soaking up the sun at Carbet Beach, and exploring the town of St. Pierre, which was destroyed by a volcano in 1902... oh la la!

We're back on the Carnival Pride for a 14-day Journeys cruise to the Southern Caribbean with stops in St. Croix, St. Kitts, Martinique, Barbados, St. Maarten, San Juan, and Grand Turk. We were slated to sail from November 3-17, 2019 but ended up with a bonus sea day, thanks to an unexpected storm at the very end of the cruise that delayed our return to Baltimore!

I like the rum distillery tours. Appleton Estates in Jamaica was like this. Don't drink the 151 proof unless you know the consequences...LOL.. I saw a guy drink the 190 proof straight to the truck. It was 30 seconds and he went to his knees. Keep up the good videos.

We loved it Martinique, but I'd say definitely go in with a plan. There's not a ton to do right at the port, so a proper tour is in order!!

Ah, probably the BBC, which we discovered in our Reggae Beach vlog during a visit to St. Kitts on the Carnival Pride... it's something like Bailey's, banana rum, and coconut cream.

Sometimes but not always, we are offered excursion tickets in exchange for making a video review, but we always show our true experience and give an honest review of the good and the bad, without letting that sway our judgment, ha ha... :P
Wow. Someone was paying attention during 12th grade French class. (Unlike me) Did you change dollars into euros and if so what is the process of doing that?
We actually didn't, but we borrowed a few from our travelmates. I know you can buy Euros at your local bank state-side, or we heard announcements that they were selling them at guest services on the ship as well.

Funny they didn't ask a lot of people for there passport, including me.
Will a passport card work?
To cruise, yes. But to get off and back on in Martinique, I believe you need the full passport book. From what I've read, Martinique and a few other islands don't participate in the program, so you would be asked to remain on the ship if only travelling with a passport card, or with a birth certificate.
