St. Maarten has so much to do. We have been there twice and look forward to another visit. Great series! Happy cruising! Looking forward to the videos.
I cannot say this enough - Your videos are SO HELPFUL!! I am totally loving this series, and I hope you continue to do them each time you visit a new (to you) port. Thanks!!
Thanks so much! We're hoping to, and I'm sure we'll eventually make it through all the ports we've visited, but then we'll have to conjure up some more fun for videos, ha ha... :P
We went this past July and had 9 of us. We walked into town (about 15-20) walk, and I had my 12 year old daughter with us who had a torn ACL (hadn't had surgery yet) and she didn't complain we just walked a little slower and my 63 year old mother was with us too and could walk it fine. At the port taxis kept haggling with us to use them and we tried to barter but the price was too high for the 9 of us. Lowest we got them was $14 per person and that was 1 way. We wanted to go to Maho Beach. So I said no and just walked into town to catch the bus where it was $2 per person 1 way. Being that we nearly filled the bus up with 9 of us we didn't have to make too many stops to pick others up. It took about 20-30 minutes to get there, but you experienced the crazy driving and beautiful scenery. Stayed at the beach for a few hours. Ate at the restaurant on Maho, which was pricey but I knew that going in. Caught a bus going back and they were even nice enough to drop us off at the pier. They were going to drop us off back in town but asked where we were going and we said the port and they dropped us off right where the other taxis were so that was awesome. Total cost of transportation was $40 round trip for all 9 of us instead of $252.
St Maarten is definitely in our bucket list! A friend of mine has a timeshare down there and goes just about every year, I keep trying to convince her to leave her kids and husband home and take me! Lol. Great video guys! (hi Chunk! ;) ) 🤘🤘
Awesome! Hope to get there next year. I cannot wait for you to sail on the Valor and Glory, my favs. Hope the Valor is still decorated the same as it was in 2011 ☺️. Have too much fun!
Had to come back and thank you for your advice it was quite helpful. I did the 10 best things tour. It was the WORST we were rushed and each stop was about 10 minutes as the bus driver zoomed by all the sites there were no pastries, no ice cream and basically look here look there. I wished I had listen to you and stayed at the port and shopped
The best excursion is the 12 meter Challenge. You get to crew the actual 12 meter sailboats from the 1986 America's Cup. You can be selected for Stars and Stripes, Canada 2 (known as Candy) and True North (known as IVY). You pick it up right at Bobby's Marina or they will meet you at the pier. You crew and race a mini regatta of boats. Thrilling! There are drinks aboard but no head so don't drink too much! Take a position on the grinders or at the helm (post race) and go back for a nice rum punch. Get one of the cool 12M t shirts! When you return to do the regatta again and show your t-shirt they give you a brand new one as well.
Beautiful island. Let’s talk cruise port. One place no one talks about Sharky’s, it’s the crew bar. Great bar, nice bartenders. Give it a try Spice Shack, best jerk seasoning in the Caribbean DAS cigars, great smokes
Hah, we plan to hit Cozumel up the week after we get back home from the Glory. We’ll have to see about Costa Maya... we’ve been there twice but have never left the port... psssh!! :P
Steepest & very scary (at least I thought so)! It’s fast & over quickly, but you do turn in the wind (they tell you to put your arms out to stop the slight spinning & I tried, but kept spinning)! That first drop is a doozie (my stomach was in my throat)! I was praying & had my eyes closed for the first few seconds - but once I did open my eyes - the scenery was beautiful!! And the spring stop at the end was a giant boingggg!!
Thanks so much! We have not covered St. Thomas yet because we are returning there in about two weeks, and wanted to wait until we got in one more visit before we decided to tackle a port guide. So it should be coming soon!! :D
Absolutely love your videos. So informative! What is your top 5 ports? When cruising comes back I will looking for another carnival cruise to replace our one that was canceled.
Such a beautiful island! We were so sad to see Le Divin in Marigot close down after the storm, but hopefully all is well there these days. We always love Saint Martin!! :D
Not if you're traveling by cruise ship. Like most cruise ports, you're fine as long as you've met the cruise line's requirement, and a photo ID plus a birth certificate, that combo is usually fine in place of a passport.
Guidelines for the future of cruising are still coming together, but as of right now it looks like masks will be required for the near future, same as here at home, yes.
Saint maartens oh, I've been there in November 2018 from my cruise and it was beautiful. Rock on.
i love St. Maarten. we did the inland tour and love it. one of the stops was to get ice cream and ride the carousel it was fun

Nice! A lot of ports do have decent public transportation systems, which is something that we often forget about. What a savings!! :D
I cruise once a year 2020 is already booked so St Martin will have to be in 2021
We really love St. Maarten! It's one of our favorites!
There's so much to do there, and we love exploring!! :D
Love these vlogs! Very informative and fun. ❤️🚢
We definitely enjoyed our day in St Maarten and were able to do both the Flying Dutchman and get to the beach!! I can’t wait to return there again!!
That's right... daaang zipline, ha ha... looks fun though!! :P
This is one of my ports for my December 2019 cruise, so Download!

We did Da Party Bus in 2018. Very fun! Heading back to St. Martin in 2023
Sounds like a blast!! :D

Awesome! Hope to get there next year. I cannot wait for you to sail on the Valor and Glory, my favs. Hope the Valor is still decorated the same as it was in 2011 ☺️. Have too much fun!
Woohoo! People say it's very America-themed, so I don't think that has changed, hah... :D

Love your Port Guide segments - we'll be going on a Caribbean cruise in Feb 2022, and are looking for exactly these kinds of info. Thanks much ...
This was very helpful, we are going there this September and the vlog gave us a great idea what to do there
Awesome! Hope you have a great time in St. Maarten!! :D
A must in St Maarten is the Yoda Shop! So bad ass, I bought original scripts from star wars! The shop has a bad ass museum too!
Yesssss, we vlogged his museum back in 2018 and got to meet him and have a print signed!! :D

Oh wow, that's awesome!! :D
love ur videos so interesting
FYI - part of Orient Beach is clothing optional - some tourists were ok with it, but others (some families with young children) were a bit surprised!
True! When we were able to visit the beach on a tour in 2016 I think it was, there were designated areas for nude and non-nude. Surprise!! Hah...
Love your videos. Thanks for helping us plan our first cruise. :)
Thanks so much! Planning is half the fun, hah... whoop whoop!! :D
Hi, great video! I was wondering is the yoda guy exhibit walking distance from the port?
Yes, it's right on Front Street, maybe 3/4 of a mile walk or so over there.
Beautiful island. Let’s talk cruise port. One place no one talks about
Sharky’s, it’s the crew bar. Great bar, nice bartenders. Give it a try
Spice Shack, best jerk seasoning in the Caribbean
DAS cigars, great smokes
Hope you do Cozumel and Costa Maya before my first cruise on December haha 😊 I’m so excited!
Hah, we plan to hit Cozumel up the week after we get back home from the Glory. We’ll have to see about Costa Maya... we’ve been there twice but have never left the port... psssh!! :P
We did the Flying Dutchman and it wasn’t scary at all! 55 mph and about 2-3 mins to get down... it’s the steepest zip line in the carribean
Nice! That's not too bad... maaaybe someday... maaaaaybe... :P
ParoDeeJay do it! It’s not scary .. I promise

ParoDeeJay how soon will you have it out? I’m going on Feb.
Ah, that's good! Looks like I've got it slated for early January, hah... if the schedule holds. Should be plenty of time!! :P
What is the name of the beach On Front Street? Great Footage By The Way......
I believe that whole free beach area is called Great Bay Beach. Thankee!!
Absolutely love your videos. So informative! What is your top 5 ports? When cruising comes back I will looking for another carnival cruise to replace our one that was canceled.
Thanks so much! We would probably go Bonaire, Curacao, Grand Turk, Cozumel, and Saint Thomas, with the entirety of Alaska as a bonus option, ha ha...

Such a beautiful island! We were so sad to see Le Divin in Marigot close down after the storm, but hopefully all is well there these days. We always love Saint Martin!! :D
Want to visit the Island, but was reading you need a mandatory health insurance and a negative covid test before traveling.
Do I need a passport

@@parodeejay thank you
Hispaniola Haiti/Dr
First😋
Are we gonna have to wear masks?
Guidelines for the future of cruising are still coming together, but as of right now it looks like masks will be required for the near future, same as here at home, yes.
@@parodeejay Do you know about covid vaccine requirements too? Do we need a certificate,?
Nothing has been decided yet, no.
