Really great video had a hard time finding a video that showed the whole process of connecting and disconnecting both ends. Only videos that kept popping up were about the twist connection. I would condsider renaming your video with more specific key words so that more people can see this. Thank you !
Just an FYI on turning the clip. I tried all these options and a spark plug boot remover works better! They are smaller to fit right around it and have rubber insulation. Watched a lot of these videos and literally took 30 seconds and no fumbling around finding something that worked. Hope this helps, rest of the video is spot on.
I just wanted to see how did you removed the intake. I have the same problem with my 2012 Ford Edge. The intake doesn’t let me get to the heater coolant hoses on the wall, and I don’t know how to remove it.
I'm curious as to how your are able to rotate the hose after you unlock the quick connect. The hose has a tab that should slide into a slot on the firewall not allowing this movement. I realized after I unlocked the quick connect mine would not rotate like in this video and was simply able to slide it off.
Just did this job. Man did it suck trying to turn the clips on the hoses. I managed to break the radiator overflow line km5147 when I tried to remove it to make room for the sound symposer to be removed.
You don’t need to worry about air in the cooling system. It will vent out to the coolant overflow bottle. You shouldn’t lose enough coolant by changing the heater hoses that you need to top up. Just check the level in a couple days when the car is cold.
The fitting that goes into the heater core at the firewall, is there suppose to be a rubber gasket in it? I replaced the right hose and it still is leaking
Not sure. Look inside the old hose, see if there is anything in there that might have been missing from the new hose. Also try pulling that end of the new hose off and giving the barb from the firewall a good cleaning in case there’s debris or buildup.
I ordered the KH901 but both ends have that little twist connection. The factory hose has the clamp like yours in the video. The KH856 looks to be the one with the twist lock on one end and the clamp on the other. Any ideas why that is? On Rock Auto the KH901 does in fact show both ends with the twist lock, and says that it fits the car. But with the twist lock, it’s too narrow to fit where the clamp end originally was.
KH902 is the hose assembly shown in this video, not KH901. KH901 has the twist lock on both ends, but KH902 has a twist lock only on the end going into the heater core. This video is specific to the ST trim. Other trims/engines may use different hose assemblies.
@@JimboWorks I really appreciate the quick reply and also THANK YOU for making this video! I would’ve never had any idea what the issue was had you not explained it in the ST thread and included the video guide. Weirdly enough, the KH856 is the exact hose I removed from mine today that was causing the issue. Mine’s a 2014 as well. I’ve ordered that one and am hoping that’s what I need. The little fastener included on yours/the KH902 was not on mine and was instead part of the right hand hose. No idea if I’m making a big goof here, but hoping for the best! The KH902 doesn’t show up in the results when I look up a 2014 ST on Rock Auto, but does for later years. Regardless, the one I took off today matches the KH856 so I will keep you and anyone that stumbles across this updated! Thanks again for all the help man!
After second guessing my purchase just now, it appears as though the original hose may have been discontinued, which may be why I couldn’t find the exact thing. I’ve got the 902 on the way now instead! Thanks!
The kh901 is the outlet hose. It is the hose to the right of the one he is shown changing. If I were you I would change them both. Don’t be like me and only change one and hope that fixes the problem. Because apparently both of my hoses were leaking. Now I have to wait for my car to cool back down to start the process all over again!
Ford gave me a 650$ estimate to get this replaced in my 2012 focus and there isn't anything in the way like in you're model. Needless to say I topped off and drove out of there lol.

Excellent video. All the details with no yammering/music 😄
Excellent video - working on the leak as we speak

I have that tool and having issues twisting it due to the wiring harness being in the way. I wanna give her the beans but do you got any tips

I’ve been trying to remove the damn hoses from the firewall for the past 2 hours How do you rotate them and get a good grip ??
Do I just need 2 of the hk901? Or is it one hk901 and one hk902?

i broke mine when i was putting solid trans bracket shifter bushings on hahaha
Great video. Took me a minute to believe there wasn't some kind of animal in my bed with me but great video and tips 😂
What did you coolant system wise? Drain the whole thing or just bleed the air out of the coolant system and top off?

Excellent man thank you.
Great video, really helpful!
I hope I get a reply , are they side specific or can I just order a heater hose and it’ll work
Each hose is unique and has its own part number; you need to determine which one(s) need to be replaced.

@@ashleymontgomery6135 Oh no! That’s no fun. I kept the 901 just in case that one decides to leak in the future. Luckily it’s all good so far.

Was yours leaking at the grommet in the cabin by the clutch pedal? I might be having the same problem.
Mine currently is doing that. Tackling it this weekend
Sounds more like the heater core itself
Got the plastic thing twisted but can't seem to twist the hose and pull it off it feels stuck on
Thanks for the video. I'll try to get my ducks in a row first 😂😂😂
Will these parts fit the 2015 ?
Put your VIN number into the Ford Parts website to make sure you get the right replacement: parts.ford.com/shop/en/us
