My 2016 ST just started sucking some coolant at 51k. I've added a couple of quarts so far. I don't have a garage and a lift and I'll be damned if I'm crawling on the concreate when it's 5 degrees above 0 with the wind blowing at 20mph, LOL! I'm retired so no need for daily trips to work. Hopefully it won't get worse and I can wait till spring time to check what's going on. I'll bet a frosty six pack I have the same problem. If I set that six pack outside now it'll be more than frosty, LOL! Thanks for the video guys.
My 17’ focus ST is super low on coolant ( about an inch under the low marker on the expansion tank) just noticed it when leaving work tonight. Can’t smell anything in the exhaust so that’s good. Just gonna top it off and check it until I can get the car into the dealership (155k miles, first time having any issues with coolant) hope it’s simple as replacing a line. Nice video, glad you guys found the source.
@@ShawnFerret it’s been a great car, coolant leak seemed to stop…grabbed a jug of coolant and so far it seems to stay between max and minimum, no crazy over heating yet…..might pull the plugs this weekend and see if there’s some chilling in the plug area just to check it out. Appreciate the reply
How did the owner discover the source of the leak? I have the same car at 77,000 miles. There is a small coolant loss which only occurs when driving using a lot of turbo boost. I have had a trusted garage look over the car. They also performed a pressure test however, no leak was found and the issue remains.
So to bleed it did you just leave the cap of on the reservoir and let it run & add coolant as needed? Is it a self bleeding system? Cant seem to find a straight answer.
Is this causing white smoke out the tail end I tend to have a reaccuring issue last shop said it was a crack in the turbo... I have extended warranty 😈 so they won't let me repair it so I don't know if he was telling the truth.
i have the same problem but with a new turbo for my fiesta st, leaking on the washer aswell(custom water lines no oem) the line is not leaking but it leaks on the washer did u use some loctite on the bolt or something or sealant?
@@ShawnFerret yeah i had some problems with that, i tightened the bolt up pretty hard but i think when i tighten it up even more it breaks lol, also send the turbo back to the guys where i got it from because it was leaking at a plug that should have been closed from the cooling house of the turbo

No problem! Hope you find your leak and stay warm!

Hope they get yours fixed up for you! Nice to hear there have been no issues with that kind of mileage.

He got under the car and shined a flashlight up there. You can see it even though it’s tight.
Just found it and my car is sitting in the garage and saw fluid and was like welp shit
Can all turbos leak coolant... My coolant is going down fast.. No low boost power and white smoke from exhaust. Thanks
Not all turbos have coolant plumbed to them. Coolant coming from the exhaust is more likely a head gasket issue!
@@ShawnFerret OK thanks.. My mechanic says HG is fine. But white smoke from exhaust.. No boost until 2500 RPM and I'm losing coolant..

Yep that’s all we did.

No, this particular issue was an external leak. There was no coolant entering the exhaust.
I have the same issue, what’s the part number or link for the line you used ???
Let me know please, thank you
We installed a Gates line but I can’t find the part number. A Dorman 625-833 should be the same thing.
@@ShawnFerret I appreciate you man !

No sealant or loctite on the bolt threads, the banjo bolt washers do all the sealing.

I think I have this same issue with my 2015 Focus St.
