This video and the old footage are totally priceless! What I'd give to go back in time, and watch all these old movies...when comedy really was funny! Thank You for your work, the finished product shines.
What a find! So happy to discover this. My grandfather was the General Manager of Mack Sennett Studios. I never knew him so to see these images is delightful. Thank you!
Amazing work, they must have had a lot of fun producing these comedies! I'd have loved to have a house atop the hill where I could watch all the shenanigans on the streets below. I lived in an old apt building at 1817 Ivar Ave. in Hollywood 30 years ago where many of these players, including Marie Dressler, and even Lillian Gish lived. Not much had changed in those old flats, including the murphy beds and lead paint!
I so loved watching these when I was a kid. Mom was (and still is) a lover of Old Hollywood movies. I am so grateful to her to this day for passing that love on to me. Thank you for this great post!
This is a great video. Great job on putting it together. There is film of glendale boulevard in 1955 the last time the street car went down glendale before it closed.

I wish that I could find video or a photo of my home at 1625 glendale blvd.. there is just one home between it and the garage. Thanks for sharing this footage ... it’s the closest thar I’ve been able to find!
This is fantastic. I went to this studio location today to see if there was anything still in the neighborhood, besides the the big Sennet stage. Took photos because soon a huge portion of land across the street (where there were many other studios in the '20's) is going to be demolished .
Just spectacular. Ive watched it over and over. What is the name of the Fatty Arbuckle/Al St.John comedy where fatty is a janitor in a office building. Fatty goes to lunch with the bosses wife... Most hilarious one Ive ever seen.. Please post it here, Ill be first in line to view it.

I've come back to this video many times for the cyclo-rama! Great capture of history and how movies were made.
Thanks John!

Thanks! Yup, they certainly looked like fun, but I bet it was hard work (and often painful too!)

Hopefully the main Sennett stage will remain for a while. It's such an historic site.
Another excellent Dave Glass creation.
Cheers Charley! :)
You can bet there were no homeless back then . Everyone came here from other countries to work and experience the American dream .
Just spectacular. Ive watched it over and over.

Thanks Carol. So glad you've enjoyed it. I think the short you describe could be 'HIS WIFE'S MISTAKE' (1916).
@@DaveGlass your right! Found it, and its still a laff riot!
You should of told those homeless people where they are squatting at is part of cinema comedy history!
I wonder if you know the name of the bold and mustaged actor ? Mostly in an angry role.
Could be many! Does he appear in this video? If yes, at what time?
@@DaveGlass Well he looks a bit like Ben Turpin but it could be in Laurel and Hardy talkies period.
