Part 19: • Vlad Asks John Salley:...
    Part 1: • John Salley & Vlad on ...
    --------
In this clip, John Salley opened up about his thoughts on athletes taking steroids, and John admitted that he doesn't consider it cheating. He explained that steroids help with recovery and strength, but he adds that it doesn't increase overall talent in an athlete. John went on to speak about getting treatments done in Germany to help with healing his joints, which you can hear more about above.

I'm late on this but I question how feasible it is to play a professional sport without PEDs and still be healthy. If nothing else you'll need them for recovery. The TV schedule that sports demands is really unnatural.

    • @dillonkayser4215

They definitely will make you hit the ball harder and further though.

PED's do help with hitting. Instead of fly balls getting caught at the warning track they would go over the fence. If this happens fifteen times in a season that is a hugh difference. Instead of thirty five home runs it's fifty home runs. It also gives you fifteen extra hits which you wouldn't have had. That could mean the difference from being a 280 hitter or a 300 hitter.

Others include its detrimental to athletes long term health in some instances and its just ethically wrong. One thing that could make the nba different, is the impact the top stars have on the game. Every sport has their top players, but it’s at another level in the nba. They are the primary reason teams win championships and become advertisements for the league.
The sport gets new fans when players like mj, lebron, and Kobe come around. Point is, the nba probably doesn’t want to ruin that. They greatly benefit when players become huge stars. Not sure they want players being exposed.

bigger and stronger in baseball doesn't just equivalate to more homeruns. Makes you faster and can cover the field better, throw the ball faster and further, and run the bases faster.

@boss 630 I’m just saying why does John Salley pretend it doesn’t help you perform better. I’m not against steroids but people shouldn’t play dumb and pretend they don’t help reach peak physical form.

@@budzmckenzie6606 well look at Sammy Sosa. He was a mediocre player with a horrible batting average and hitting an okay number of home runs and all of a sudden he’s hitting 60 something home runs multiple years. If it wasn’t for steroids he would never hit 60 home runs in a season.
