I honestly feel that purple was one of the best colors. If I was not a guy I would have got it. I know that shouldn't matter but let's be real, guys don't look normal carrying pinkish purple phones. At least straight guys don't. I'm glad I decided to wait, going to order that silver in 8gb RAM today. Going to be tough waiting these next three to four days on shipping.

Bought it Monday! Its really beautiful in person. No lie I felt iPhone sick at first (had Apple for over 5 years). Still adjusting to all of functionality this phone offers.

Off the strength of your recommendation, I got the Silver Surfer joint. I also took advantage of that Samsung promotion through Best Buy and got double trade-in value for a old ass S7 Edge... $200 bucks. Flipped that to pay off taxes on the device and also picked up 2 cases and screen protectors. Paid $35 out of pocket and saved about $15.00 on my phone bill in the process.

the cloud silver is actually really interesting in person, I was surprised when I walked into best buy and looked at it because it was sO nice. It, to me, looked like a light bluish grey color and it shifted to a darker slate grey. I loved it and I hope my carrier will allow me to get this color.

Should go on eBay and cop an older Samsung s6-s8. Sell your current blue, trade in whatever you get on eBay and you're very likely to get the new color and actually make some money. Just a thought
No you made the right decision man, I just came back from Best Buy because I was conflicted between silver and blue. The honest truth is that the blue is a better color, it's just more beautiful in my opinion. The silver is nice as well but there are a lot of silver smartphones out there. People are less likely to know what phone it is if you have a silver one because it looks like every other smartphone. While that striking blue..when you see that yellow S-Pen you know exactly what it is.
After seeing them in person, the silver isn't that bad but honestly I don't think it's a better color myself. While I feel that the purple and blue are the strongest colors by far, even the copper in my opinion does not look that great and black is too damn plain Jane, it has the same problem as silver imo.

@@hpit11 It's not just marketing, it's also a production challenge. There are only so many logic boards and daughter boards at the beginning of launch, that's tough when you're trying to service millions across the world. Especially for those that want the 8 gigabyte RAM version.
Unlike smaller brands, these phones have to mass produced and it would be quite difficult to service every region with every color on day one. It's not done out of maliciousness, take that from me as an IT business man myself. In a perfect world with infinite resources it would be possible but not within the first couple of months of launch.
This is especially true for the 8gb RAM, 512gb version of the phone because it was produced in smaller quantities and Samsung was shocked at the demand.
Marketing strategy for sure

Flossy if I wait one more round/year of new phones which should I get? I mean Samsung Galaxy S10 plus, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 or iPhone 11 Max/Plus? And what’s the different between the Samsungs besides the pen? Currently using an iPhone 6 for 4 years which I can use another last year till I want something new. Nah, That Lavender is still the BEST color and That Blue and Yellow is still last. However, We agree that the Note 9 is King and the Silver is beautiful.
I think they came out with the silver in the black one because us dudes won't for manly colors. Not too many dudes trying to walk around with a purple phone with a purple S pen or a Blue phone with a yellow S Pen.
Honestly I feel totally opposite. I agree that men aren't going to want to walk around with a pinkish purple smartphone, but in my opinion that blue is one of the strongest colors. Silver is just too generic just like black imo. I like the yellow S-Pen because when you see it, you know exactly what it is.
I dont mind the yellow S Pen but I was not a fan of the blue or purple at all. Wouldn't have even considered purchasing those colors. Great for women (and some special guys) though.

Funny thing is I still thought it was a strong color, if I wasn't a guy that purple would have been the one I bought. I would have liked a larger color gamut in general though.

Please don't be sad you guys, that blue is beautiful. I'm not just saying that to console you. I had the hardest time choosing between these two and I'm about to go buy the 8 gig version today. Honestly if I was wealthy I would buy one of each because I like the blue a lot but I can only get one and silver was the one I was waiting to see in person. However that blue is one of the best blues I have seen on a smartphone, there's a chance I could still change my mind once I get to the store that's how conflicted I am right now.
If I'm brutally honest I think the blue is more beautiful overall but the silver is a little more exclusive. I'm literally going with a friend so they can give me a second opinion because I cannot choose. There are a lot of people overseas that are upset that they can't get that blue, keep that in mind.
