    I'm a heavy user as well. I text, email, brightness is max, make and receive calls, watch alot of TH-cam videos, Netflix and Hulu movies and TV shows, use Bixby, set alarms, reminders, alerts, play music and so far my battery has not gone pass 15%. I charge every night. I don't think I can go 2 days without charging. The Samsung event did not say it could go without charging. It said all day battery. That was the reason I switch from the iPhone. It wasn't holding the charges. Every day at 5 o'clock I had to recharge. I hated carrying my power cord now I don't have too.

    I'm in the US so I have the Snapdragon version but opted for the 512/8 Gig RAM model. Mine arrived 1 day before it hit store shelves and I've been on it ever since. The battery life is stellar. In my real world use I'm getting a full 24 to 26 hour period with anywhere between 6 to 7 hours of SOT. I've been a Note user since the 3rd iteration and I am very happy my Note 9.
    Lastly, from 10% to 100% takes approximately 90 mins on the plug. I am very pleased with my purchase.

      Hi Mate, I'm in Australia and have the same Note9 as yourself. I have just upgraded to the note 9 from my Note8 (GREAT PHONE!) I'm very disappointed in the battery life of the note 9, not to mention the all black pen that is in the note 9 black phone (which I have misplaced 3 times so far!) The day after I got the phone which was still plugged into the charger, so it was at 100%, a friend called. I disconnected the phone from the charger answer her call and spoke for an hour & a half. The battery had dropped from 100% to 80% !!! My old note 8 I could play my music through to a Bluetooth speaker all day, make phone calls, read/send text messages as well as check my emails. Time span on note 8 for all this 7am till around 5-6pm balance usual left, around 20% battery. Note 9! Tried to do the daily same thing as I did on the Note8... Around 7am connected to Bluetooth speaker !00% listening to music, checking my emails, and answering text messages. Battery 4 hours later, had 57% Battery! The Note9 ( it's set up exactly the to the same setup as my Note8 in regards to battery saver. Not Happy With This Phone! I would expect to get the same runtime from the 9 if not more but No it's not coming anywhere near the 8. I'm taking the phone back to Optus to either have them replace it or I'll keep my old Note8. I'll keep you updated. Have you had the same issue with your Note 9? or have I got a Lemon? :-D I thought I'd get the same results as your phone from this new 9. I still have my original Note which is still running well andI have had all the note phones since they first come out many years ago and have always been very happy with them until this model :-(

    That was a fair battery drain test on the Note 9. Running light, medium and heavy applications with the screen brightness cranked up was good while still getting over 5 hours of use. So far based on this drain test and other drain tests conducted by other reviewers, the Note 9 has the best battery life. A video with another battery drain test performed when the screen brightness level is in the middle like usual would be good too. Also, after the upcoming iPhone XS Plus, LG V40 and Google Pixel 3 XL phones get released, another battery drain test video can be made with those phones competing against the Note 9 and the other phones that got released this year.

    Hey Nick. I think 5 hours and 12 minutes is pretty good. I am a very low to moderate user when it comes to my smartphone, and my phone (the iPhone 6 plus) can't even make it through a full 2 and a half hours of usage before needing a charge. I guess it needs a replacement battery, but i don't think apple is offering battery replacements for the 6 plus anymore, but if they do, i am broke and have no job LOL. Hopefully in 2019, Samsung can keep this huge battery capacity trend with the Note 10 (or Note X.. whatever they decide to call it) Anyway, great video. Keep up the good work!

Can provide screenshots.. why do you think this is? My s8 is refurbished model and has this special software maybe. My iPhone drains a lot. I’ve been thinking about getting a Samsung but I’m getting a huge discount for the iPhone 8. Should I get the Samsung still or the iPhone 8...?

    Thanks Nick. Would be great to do that against a test with lower screen brightness, and average apps rather than ones that stress it out to get the difference.

    Ok there is something wrong with my battery 😑 I had battery saver on today. Used the phone for half an hour on my commute to work. Then half an hour on my lunch break (started at 7 am. Lunch 11-1130 and by home time at 2.30pm I was on 66% battery 😑. It said screen on time 2 hours 30 minutes but I'm not really sure that is accurate. If I was not on battery saving mode I can imagine the battery would have been on lower that 66% and I hardly used it all day?!?

    I usually set the brightness to 30 percent, location off, the screen always take a lot of energy, so... On this case we can said lowering that 50 percent, and turning the location off can easily allow it to reach 6 hours, and if you turn off the sound amplification when not needed, it can last more. That also can improve with the Greenify app, my Huawei Mate SE last 7 hours of screen time most of the time.

    This video is great help. I started to wonder my Note9 is not doing good on the battery as it does not take long and drops down from 100 to 98% a little quick. But then I started a test. From 100% charge till now its 9 hours and I am still at 53%. Did not use it heavily, but moderately used at optimum brightness settings etc. Watched youtube videos on and off, made some calls, ran a few apps and a game. Also phone was in the sleep mode when didnt use, with always on display. I hope to have the battery last for another 9 hours. Will update.

      You were probably used to a iPhone. They tweak their battery calibration so that it seems to stay on 100 percent for ages to give the impression of fantastic battery.
      In reality though the battery between about 70 percent to 10 percent drains really fast to compensate.

    • @AbdulSamad-rf5lh
      @AbdulSamad-rf5lh 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Never used an iPhone, but was using Note 5 for quite a long time, but since I bought this new Note9, I expected the battery to stay longer on 100%. Regardless, the final test results: battery on Note9 completely drained off in 13 hours, 45 minutes.

    • @mr.bugbyte
      @mr.bugbyte 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AbdulSamad-rf5lh Check the battery settings to see if any app is draining too much battery. The top 3 apps or services that show up in the battery menu are usually the ones draining the most energy. If you don't find anything weird or unusual, check your phone's temperature while charging every now and then. It may be overheating (if you use wireless charging overheating is a common problem), and that leads to your battery degrading

    • @trunghieu974

      The same with my note 9, from 100% to 95% it drain batery too fast. Idle time also drain batery , overnight my note 9 loss from 6-8 percent. But if i use it more offen, i can easily get more than 5 hour SOT. Is this normal?
