- In this episode we join our friends the @overlandad family in their Toyota Tundra for some Utah exploration. This time around we're "roughing it" with our utility kit and trailer featuring... a ground tent! Our backup Gazelle tent came in clutch this trip as we had to return the loaner trailer while waiting on our own Voyager to be completed. While it was certainly more challenging we enjoyed the different format! During our travels we stumbled upon an ancient volcano, watched the pros and cons of a full-size rig in action, and then explored a lava tube with the kiddos.

Keep in mind those of us who have TH-cam Premium do not have ads. As a creator myself and a longtime viewer I am not a fan of the breaks in this video. It really messes up the flow. Just my 2 cents. Will watch regardless.

Sean told me you commented on the moab closures… thank you! Being a small channel, we are not able to reach people who care like you can. If people want to learn about the issues behind those closures, I recommend watching CORE’s video on the topic. Also, I’ll look into sharetrails myself, but the legal fight will be done through the blue ribbon coalition. I can assure every creator that gets the word out that these are not problem trails and I have hours and hours of footage showing no trash, no off trail issues, no overcrowding… these trails are an overlander’s paradise!

Trails like your winding through the trees trail usually find you in an Epic Campsite.
I think that crater camp spot would have been spectacular. We'll have to go back with a smaller setup one day!
Kevin thank you for also bringing light to the fight against the trail closures in Moab. Our channel did poison spider this past weekend and we have been advocating for the fight as well. It's critical for those of us with any kind of a voice to keep that beautiful overlanding area from disappearing.
We love our Gazelle T4+ Overland. Very heavy but easy to set up and spacious. Was Caroline the same way when she was teething? Every child is different and you are correct, it only lasts a little while. It great to see you enjoying your time! I liked the lack of YT ads. If it works for you, we support it! Love the format! I'd rather see your commercials than what would normally come out. You guys are awesome parents!! Little Abigail really puts you two to the test! Love her dearly, but if she would only sleep you'd love her more! Teeth coming in (or out for that matter) hurts. Thanks for sharing your adventures! Have you thought about a Sequoia? Those ones at SEMA I bet are pretty awesome looking. Toyotas have such a following so there are lots of modifications possible with them. My wife loves her Rav4.

Sequoia is on the list too but we're still shopping. I think we might make a video to share our thought process on the final choice and what led us there. Could be interesting.
Abigail is an angel but shew... testing our patience for sure! Holding on hard to those good moments to carry us through the sleepless nights!

Not a huge fan of the "commercial breaks" as they are in this video. What if you did a "picture in picture" kinda deal instead of completely breaking away from the video? Just an idea, I'm not going to stop watching over it you gotta do what you gotta do.
I think y'all are awesome and whenever I geek out talking about overlanding I recommend your channel because I feel like you're doing what I wish I could do. You help me scratch that itch when I can't get out myself. I got to meet Swellrunner at Expo East and somehow missed you and was bummed about it. You are my main inspiration for wanting to get out there and build out my truck, hopefully I'll see you out on the trails sometime. I'll definitely check out your support page to do more.

I totally hear you on the breaks. I wish there was a magic bullet for this type of thing. We'll keep trying new things and see what's effective. This constantly changing algorithm is hard to keep up with and support is slipping on many fronts for many reasons. Thanks for the feedback!

Been watching for years. You guys are what got our family started in overlanding. I think I would prefer one longer add than multiple breaks. Multiple takes the viewer out of it while one is understandable.

The rig has a potential for one bedroom in the new trailer, a tent above it. An iKamper on the truck roof to sleep six in total! I'd seriously consider how much more you need. Lose the leisure batteries out the car, use the Redarc to the best in the trailer and keep a smaller car fridge in the vehicle and you'd nearly be sorted. You could even keep the compressor on the car and put a tank on the trailer and connect with commercial suzies. (just my opinion of course)!
My pharmacist used to make a teething solution make with a little honey and whiskey.
It worked well. Those kids are now in their late 40s and mid 50s with no alcohol issues.
Those were the days!

You guys have some sweet videos, cool footage, and the rigs and all the bit of kit are nice balance, maybe a little cramped, but sounds like you need a 200, seems that would fit the bill? And the difference from a gx/4runner/sequoia/even a 100, is pretty Huge. Maybe the new GX Prado, not sure interior difference. I been thinking of doing the same to my rtt through the sunroof. Got to be committed for that mod. How do you like your mountaineer stove?

We agree on the the 200 option as well; we're still undecided but lots of solid options to pick from.
The mountaineer stove is one of our favorites from over the years. It's just a tad bit big so a commitment to carry.

Kevin, you do know that all the Sasquatch live in those caves, and they use that labyrinth of underground tunnels to get around out being seen.

Beautiful area of Utah, love it! Maybe for your ad you could do a fade to black beforehand to be a little less of a surprise. I see a lot of people do these style of ads just before the intro, and just another before the outro. On those channels, it's become predictable and expected which also makes it less disruptive. Just some thoughts!

Yeah well you in your ads are way more tolerable at least I will know who gets to benefit so maybe once in awhile show what your peddling
