HAPPY BIRTHDAY Simon. You remind me of my Great Grandson Mason. He will be 4 in September. He says a few words & is such a loving Child. I look after him M-F while his parents work. We have a great time together. Goes to Playschool 3 mornings a week & loves going. Has a therapist working with him at playschool. Progress is slow. I'm called PawPaw. He can't say it but it will a wonderful day when I hear him say PawPAW. Happy Birthday again Simon. You & Ezra are bright STARS in my life. Love to both of you.
Your older kids are something else, supportive big brothers and your lovely girl is like the little ones' second mom. The independence seen in the little ones especially Ezra is remarkable. It's a job well done parents❤👏 you're a wonderful family
It is wonderful to see how well they both are doing. Autism is scary when it's first diagnosed, but then you understand that they are unique, beautiful children and you will do everything you can to help them have thier best life.
Lol, not gonna lie, at first I thought the bike was for Simon to ride by himself and I thought "isn't he too young for that?" 😅What a great idea to get something that you can enjoy together as a family. Happy birthday, Simon!
Happy fourth birthday, Simon! Whether or not giving siblings gifts on another sibling’s birthday is a good idea depends on the kids and their personality types. My parents tried that on my birthday one year (I think when I was around six or seven) and my sister wanted all of the presents. My parents had to explain to her that she would need to wait until her birthday (in less than a week) to get more presents. That might have been the same year that she wanted all of the presents for Christmas because she is the oldest. They had to explain to her that that’s not how it works. She was 10 or 11 at the time.
Lovely family.❤ I'm so impressed how great you are with your kids. My baby is 9 months old and I'm suspecting his high risk of autism. I hope my husband and I can do our best as you are doing, such a lovely family and so supportive. Happy birthday Simon! You are a wonderful kid.

Happy belated sweet cutie pie, Simon. He has made great progress in speaking since I saw him last. That's great. This Revi e-bike is truly a wow. So much fun for Ezra and Simon in this wonderful landscape 😀
Simon reminds me of my son when he was little. He loved cars (he often walked around with one in each hand), and he talked similarly too. He would have loved these bikes, but he's now doing a great job riding his own bike. The years have gone by very quickly. The days are long, but the years are short.
Awww wish him many more birthdays ❤ my kiddo turnt 4 last December and he barely reacted to his gifts while opening them but later on after having out he excitedly played with all of them. He tried super hard to not "hurt" the presents by peeling them slowly lol, I had to give him permission to just open them however he wants, it's so nice seeing them get older every year 🥰
@@7Aheadfamily well aside from opening presents and playing with them, he spent 3 hours in a arcade, he really loves gaming. We went to Chucky e cheese and he ate his favorite food which is pizza lol.
I retired as a speech therapist (45 years) this past year. I worked with kids like Ezra and Simon. My hardest job was the parents. They were going through difficult times with their special needs kids, regular kids, jobs. I had communication notebooks and we had a day in the week they could phone me. I had kids twice a week and if we felt more therapy was needed,we would try to get a therapist from their health plan.I so admire your household. You follow through with activities, blending everything into a regular day for all the kids. You are amazing and I wish you all the best
Happy birthday Simon!!! I love Bluey too! Your cake was so cute! Also, can we talk about how Ezra gets more handsome by the day?!?! He’s growing up so fast.
Happy birthday Simon, your day is going to be awesome when your parents are getting your presents ready for today, and I like when you speak completely sentences
It’s good that Simon knows that the word “cool” has more than one meaning. From what I remember I was a year-and a-half or (more likely) two years older than Simon is here when I understood that. Is this one of the things that they go over with in Simon’s speech therapy, etc?
@@burnoutteamclubbtcp7283 Not necessarily, he might eventually learn some words, phrases, and sentences with a lot more speech therapy. Also, it sounds like his daytime toilet training is coming along. Even if his nighttime training never completely finishes he will probably eventually be able to clean himself up in the morning and perhaps eventually use a microwave to reheat things for breakfasts and snacks (as I started learning how to do around age ten or so). Also, given enough practice he should be able to learn how to tie shoes, brush his teeth, put on a belt, and similar tasks. It will take quite a while (probably at least another two to three years, best case scenario) but I think in time he can get there.
A friend of mine has a three-year-old granddaughter who will be turning four before the beginning of August. They’re not one-hundred-percent sure but they are fairly sure that she is level one like Simon is. She has good days and bad days. On a good day (like today, for instance) she is able to talk fairly well and communicate her needs about as well as Simon does. She seems to go back and forth between sensory seeking and sensory sensitivities. For example, sometimes if someone gives her a cupcake she will eat almost the entire cupcake and leave the frosting on the plate (like today). Other times she will just eat the frosting and leave the rest of her cupcake on her plate (like another time that I saw her in the last three months). One thing that her grandmother is slightly concerned about is the fact that while she typically knows that she is three years old and usually answers correctly when someone asks her how old she is (she almost always says one or two when she gives the wrong answer) she seems to virtually never give the correct answer when someone asks her how old she will be on her birthday (The right answer is four but she usually gives an answer of three and sometimes gives an answer of two or even one). In essence I was wondering if Simon had any similar difficulties with this just before he turned four (given how recently he officially became verbal (probably around the time of that Dollar Tree shopping trip last September (give or take)).
Simon is so much like my youngest son who is 21 now. The only difference was my youngest son would have melt downs. My son also had ADHD making him more hyper. He was started on medication and he has done well since then. He was in special education until 6th grade. In 6th grade until High School Graduation he was in general education with an IEP. He currently works at Walgreens as a cashier. He is fully independent. Emotionally he is more like a 17 year old. Has no cognitive delays either.

And I have now learnt one of Ezra's pitch changes of sound there is a distinctive pitch of sound and facial expressions when it's sad , happy , excited or angry vocal stimming. Great to see everyone is enjoying there presents 😊 hahaha I think the car mat went down great , I just brought one of the kids I look after a construction vehicles similar thing and seems to be a win 😂 Ezra is a little monkey after my own heart to this day even though I am 30 there is nothing I love more than setting up a tent in the living room and gathering things and then just sitting in there...my partner will set it up for me while I'm at work if he thinks I'm having a particularly hard day and I will just climb in when I get inside 😅 Hahaha you predicted ezra throwing those objects nicely , lasted about 15 seconds XD looks like they had an amazing ride , i also love marks helmet great footage for a helmet cam. I am so happy Simon can speak now. Really hope my son also improves by the time he turns 4. He was not born autistic but he got into mild autism due to screen.
Not necessarily, one cannot always infer causality from a correlation. I remember hearing that from my General Psychology (Psychology 101) professor as a college freshman in my second semester of Freshman year in the Spring of 1995. Also, autism symptoms can be difficult to see in the first two to three years if you are not specifically looking for them. I was only diagnosed myself (level two initially, currently level one (in today’s terminology)) after my two year checkup in the late 1970s. In my case they were only looking for it because I was born at least three months prematurely and they were doing a full neurological work up after I turned two to find any neurological complications from that. Otherwise my diagnosis would have been made months or even years later (even with the severity of my symptoms (At age two the only words I knew were “moon”, “cat”, and “clock”. You can’t really communicate anything with a vocabulary that is that limited.)). It was only by about age three to four that my vocabulary significantly improved beyond that point. By around age four-and a-half I was able to ask some very basic questions (such as “What is that?” and perhaps “Why?”) and my learning started to improve much more quickly after that.
It’s good to hear the word “independent” being used correctly here instead of how my relatives often used it to mean “stubborn”. Depending on how much Ezra understands of the speech that is used around him using these words correctly might be helping him with his autonomy (like on that recent Sunday morning when he used the toilet independently for the first time).
@@7Aheadfamily yes I love ❤️ to bike my grandson is autistic and epileptic so need to find a bike for him that fits his needs Incase he has a seizure. I loved watching this video. I use to bike to work every day.
The sound of the plastic rings on the dog banging together reminds me of the sound of the plastic keys that I enjoyed playing with when I was younger (starting around age three or four and continuing up to around Ezra’s current age) when I was stressed out sometimes after a day at school, for example. From what I remember these were taken away after I turned nine because they were considered to be “too babyish”. Looking back, I think the concern was that if I played with them too much it would cause me to regress.
Great video as always! Looks like it was a lovely birthday and the whole family enjoyed themselves. As an autistic adult, I can only say over and over again what an amazing job you are doing as parents. It warms my heart that your autistic boys are getting the understanding and support they need early on. It will impact their lives in ways you cannot yet imagine. Also, I'm a little late on this but would you mind giving the name or a link of the puppy dog toy with all the different textures that Ezra got? I am looking for some new stim toys and this one looks super fun! Thanks in advance for a reply!
I noticed that in general Ezra looks like he’s more aware of what’s going on around him than he was even six months ago. Also, he seems to be getting better at telling people what he wants with his iPad. That being said I wonder if he may have some visual/spatial difficulties similar to the ones I had growing up and still have to a degree. Until I was about five or six I struggled with recognizing even the most basic shapes. If I was unusually tired or stressed out I would sometimes even get triangles and rectangles mixed up. When Ezra got off the bike and started walking the wrong way I wonder if he might have been having difficulty recognizing which houses are which. Even now (as an adult) it is just about impossible for me to recognize faces due to prosopagnosia. In my case I can’t be completely sure of how much of this is due to the right hemisphere stroke I had at birth and how much of it is a function of being on the spectrum. Even so I have to wonder if Ezra might also have something like this as well. One time after church my father stopped briefly to talk to someone he knew and my mother, sister, and I kept walking. Due to a combination of extreme nearsightedness and not being able to recognize faces I almost followed another man who was similar in height and wearing the same type of coat into the parking lot. Fortunately my father noticed what was happening and called me back to where he was followed by asking me what I was doing and where I was going. I think I was at least a year or two older than Ezra’s current age when this happened. I’m still not sure if my parents think I was trying to run away on that particular Sunday. If Ezra works more on shapes (basic ones like circles, squares, and triangles first, and then goes on from there) it might help him to eventually recognize different buildings if he is struggling with this. This might take some time because toilet training and learning anything else at the same time might be difficult. On the other hand this can vary from person to person.
Stores need to bring back Lightning McQueen merch, i notice people under the spectrum love him. My brother has autism & he loves Cars. We need adult size merch too lol Happy Birthday Simon!
Happy 4th Birthday Simon! I hope you had an awesome day! Is Ezra sensitive to noise? I see how he covers his ears a lot. I was diagnosed with Autism level 1 in June last year, I am 18 so late diagnosis. I am sensitive to noise too.
Is this bus one of Simon’s birthday presents? If so it might explain why he was so upset that Sunday when he thought that Ezra broke it. Hopefully Simon’s feeling better now and he’s back on track (given that that happened over a month ago) if he had any temporary regression of any kind (aside from that one meltdown) as a result of that one event.
Cheese can have a good level of calcium in it (and so can ice cream). The main downside of these is that too much might cause constipation. Over time this could eventually cause toileting difficulties with Ezra and perhaps Simon as well if they eat a lot more cheese and ice cream than they should. Fruit can help to prevent this but it can still be difficult to balance things out.
Im always impressed by Marie, she is so patient and helpful with Ezra and Simon

It is amazing to see them grow💕❤️💕

Howdy Ezra! Cheese-Boy! Wisconsin is Asking for You!!
❤️❤️❤️
The sound of the plastic rings on the dog banging together reminds me of the sound of the plastic keys that I enjoyed playing with when I was younger (starting around age three or four and continuing up to around Ezra’s current age) when I was stressed out sometimes after a day at school, for example. From what I remember these were taken away after I turned nine because they were considered to be “too babyish”.
Looking back, I think the concern was that if I played with them too much it would cause me to regress.
Thank you for sharing your story!😊😊
We appreciate you!💜💜
Great video as always!
Thank you so much! You’re so kind. Yes here is the link…

It’s good that Simon is able to ask “What’s this?”. He seems to be about six months ahead of where I was at that age in terms of asking questions.
Thank you for sharing!💕💕
Happy birthday Simon! When is Simon birthday though? Mine is February 12th
Simons birthday is in February. ❤️❤️❤️
Very true! Thank you for sharing that ❤️. Yes! I wonder if Ezra is struggling with something like that.
Stores need to bring back Lightning McQueen merch, i notice people under the spectrum love him. My brother has autism & he loves Cars. We need adult size merch too lol Happy Birthday Simon!

Aww, you are so kind!❤️😊❤️ What is your favorite part about your birthday?
@@7Aheadfamily Having a fun birthday with the people I love and care about, my family and sometimes friends if it works out.
That sounds amazing, we love doing that to!🩷❤️🩷
Happy 4th Birthday Simon! I hope you had an awesome day!
Is Ezra sensitive to noise? I see how he covers his ears a lot. I was diagnosed with Autism level 1 in June last year, I am 18 so late diagnosis. I am sensitive to noise too.
Ezra is sensitive to noise but he loves music💕💕💕
Is this bus one of Simon’s birthday presents? If so it might explain why he was so upset that Sunday when he thought that Ezra broke it. Hopefully Simon’s feeling better now and he’s back on track (given that that happened over a month ago) if he had any temporary regression of any kind (aside from that one meltdown) as a result of that one event.
I think your right. :)
Where did you get Ezra's dog? My son would love one!
Yeah, they’re awesome! Here’s the link…

Good ideas!💕💕 Thank you!💕💕
