My husband and myself are distant cousins to Annie, whose real name was Phoebe Mosey. Our common ancester is Jacob Grieb. He is Annie's 3rd great grandfather, my 7th and my husband's 6th. Greeneville in Darke County, Ohio, has a festival in her name in July at the fairgrounds and they have an Annie Oakley Museum as well. I have yet to go there, but it is on my bucket list.
Wonderful video as always! Really interesting learning about Annie, never heard of her before but sounds like a really interesting figure, and I think you did a really good job explaining her story and how the historical context fits in for a lot of her life. Keep up the good work!
thank you! tbh I'm kinda shocked how many people have shared a similar sentiment that they weren't all too familiar with her. she's certainly less obscure than like, roger babson. as always I'm happy to be introducing these figures to new people!
having gone into this with basically no knowledge of Annie Oakley except a semantic association with the West, this feels like it did a remarkable job illustrating her whole person in my head? (or possibly a whole image of a person partly of her own invention, of course.) dunno how you keep doing it with these profiles!
That room looks familiar...
uhhhh idk what you're talking about tbh. definitely didn't put my tripod right on your mattress

@@seanathans103 appreciated! I'll note however that this is in no means comprehensive - the lore runs deep in this particular case
+100 aura for actually citing sources
