In reference to the legalities reguarding use of the American flag and/or its images. These guys are lucky they're not in D.C. stiff fines for having a flag image on a coke machine. Anyways, there are codes, but speculation as to enforcement of them. But as it is, this is the section that covers this situation in (i) and (j).
      4 U.S. Code § 8.Respect for flag
No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.
      (a)
The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
      (b)
The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.
      (c)
The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free.
      (d)
The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker’s desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.
      (e)
The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way.
      (f)
The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling.
      (g)
The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.
      (h)
      The flag should never be
used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.
      (i)
The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.
      (j)
No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart.
      (k)
The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.
      (Added Pub. L. 105-225, § 2(a), Aug. 12, 1998, 112 Stat. 1497.)

Then there's the rest of the herd the pops out to take a look/see, pace a little, then wander off. I love these people. 🤗

They most definitely are looking for some sort of reaction. This has nothing at all to do with doing the right thing for the sake of the community.. these two are rude, condescending and a little bit ignorant. It’s all for views. Again, reaction. Reaction = views. Calling these engagements “audits” is only meant to justify the behaviors exhibited within the interactions you see here. I do not respect people who do this. If you are being harassed and recording or reporting on what has occurred, that is one completely different thing. But going out and searching for a pot of trouble to stir is not helping ANYbody. It isn’t educating ANYbody. When these guys leave, everyone that was “educated” is only pissed off and talking mad shit about these guys. Nobody is like “oh man, I realize my actions are sometimes wrong and I’ve learned a lot today.” Find a new approach. Quit being DOUCHEBAGS, because that’s all you and Nathaniel are. Bunch of idiots.

Criminal penalties for certain acts of desecration to the flag were contained in Title 18 of the United States Code prior to 1989. The Supreme Court decision in Texas v. Johnson; June 21, 1989, held the statute unconstitutional. This statute was amended when the Flag Protection Act of 1989 (Oct. 28, 1989) imposed a fine and/or up to I year in prison for knowingly mutilating, defacing, physically defiling, maintaining on the floor or trampling upon any flag of the United States. The Flag Protection Act of 1989 was struck down by the Supreme Court decision, United States vs. Eichman, decided on June 11, 1990. No federal agency has the authority to issue 'official' rulings legally binding on civilians or civilian groups.

How about we make government stay within the restrictions of the constitution and all law enforcement is to only hold positions thru the election process. We abolish all state local and federal police since they are unconstitutional. And we then police ourselves with the help of a few public officials like the elected sheriff. Electeded prosecutor. And elected judge. That is how it is laid out in our constitution.
No society can be free with a gang ruling over it. In 1776 the police were called red coats. You already know how that turned out. And it isnt far away from happening again.

Government Employee Education Coalition {special usage} [with adj] a group with the ability, drive, and wherewithal using public devices to expose tyranny within this nations borders with the intent to educate said double-standard-operating tyrants to lead them toward lawfulness. example: They had to GEEC on the cops who were attempting to identify the photographers.

I'm sure there are douchebag POs - there are pretty much every-job-title-you-can-imagine douchebags. In fact, I think a study undertaken by the Rand Corporation determined conclusively that 10% of every distinct group or occupation is comprised of, you guessed it - douchebags. So what did we learn here? That a government organization not beloved by millions gets cranky and evasive when they are scrutinized? Shocking!

I don't understand how people, police in general get upset or defensive about any audits. When police are justifying, as for the public good, DUI roadblocks, prostitution stings, bait cars, bait bicycles, bait underage minors in a chat room, drug dog searches at schools, seat belt/child seat checkpoints, etc. We as a society even justify audits by the IRS, unscheduled health code inspections at restaurants, inspections at nursing homes, hospitals, etc. School boards demand unscheduled audits of a teacher's ability, by allowing someone to sit in on the class. Etc, etc. Etc. The next time a police dept uses underage consumers to try and by alcohol, or tobacco at a store, they are doing EXACTLY what we auditors are doing.
Simply allowing someone the chance to either follow the law, or to break the law. As for the use of cameras to document any interaction between a member of society and a member of law enforcement, police do it themselves. If an auditor tells a cop, turn off your body cam, turn off your dash cam, turn off the overhead camera in the interrogation room, turn off the camera in the lobby, turn off the camera in the booking area etc. The same cop will say no. Why? It is there to be an impartial tool, to document without prejudice, and to protect not only the officer, but the public. The only difference is, if the cops do wrong on camera, or the information provided by the camera does not benefit or confirm their side of story, they can loose, destroy, refuse to release etc such evidence. When a member of society has the benefit of video evidence, which they have possession and legal authority over, they as a member of society HAVE ACCESS and CONTROL over, not the police.
Imagine if every time you have a BBQ, the fire department policy is to show up at your house and CHECK, JUST FOR YOUR SAFETY, on what your doing? Or if they keep saying, we had someone call about the tiny amount of smoke and BBQ smell, so we HAVE TO WASTE my time, your time, and our time to check it out. By the way, do you have smoke detectors in the house, since were here we can go in house and CHECK. Do you have stickers on Windows notifying US of a children's room? What is your exit plan if a fire starts in the kitchen. We need to just check and see if your extinguishers are up to date. When was the last time you had your chimneys cleaned? Why is a gas can located on the floor of the garage? We now have to call the city code enforcer as
........all that because you were doing nothing illegal, but someone called. It is the SAME as when a cop says. We got called, so ya you will give us I.D., now we need to search you for weapons, where are you parked, etc.

agreed. and one guy drives off without plates and the self appointed auditor makes it sound like the whole parole department is doing it and that they're all guilty of breaking the publics trust. i saw one video showing a bad cop giving a $200 jaywalking ticket to another self appointed auditor who then proceeded to pay it in pennies, victimising a court clerk who had done nothing wrong. I'm just glad most of these so called auditors aren't cops cause they're just as abusive as the bad cops.

I just discovered 1st Amendment audits and am binge watching. There are lots of great channels. Nasty Nate's the best, your are number two with the AA and Rights Crispy right behind in my new guy opinion. I appreciate you give the cops some love when they are doing their best. 30 years in uniform and have been under the scope many a time. It's not always clear what the right answer is. Thanks for the good work you do.

      @noahberger8760 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Maybe they need to be more specific. I took the sign as meaning "No stickers that appear to be cell phones allowed". Else it would be an actual cell phone behind that red barred circle. Or maybe 'a sign' can have no true authority unless one allows it. ..Its like the old signs that said "thank you for not smoking", one could always say, "no thanks necessary' and light up anyway.

  • @mjkmojofool

I typically like these vids, and appreciate the work ya'll do - and the risks ya'll take.
Regarding the postal worker, I am a bit confused by your acerbic response to his taking your picture.
Auditors take pictures and record audio/visual, and ya'll don't like it when you are questioned about it, confronted for it, or demeaned for it.
Why then, did you show that discourtesy to the postal worker? I get why SJ at the parole office was ridiculed, but not the postal worker.
This is an honest question and not meant as a criticism.

cam backs are ludicrous examples of a "reverse power play". they feel intimidated and so they try to match their loss of power. they come off just looking silly. also, they open themselves up to a FOIA request. (incredibly stupid move to use personal phone for camback on the clock as a government employee)
he was also in traffic and driving.
