Great to see you react to this this movie, it's such a childhood classic!
Also, I'd love for you to watch and react to WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING. I watched it for the first time recently and it has instantly become one of the BEST MOVIES I've ever watched. It has everything: gorgeous setting and camera work, well written characters, great acting performances and a very layered and emotionally impactful story.
I think you'll love it as much as I did. And I have a feeling that you will discuss the movie for at least 20 minutes after it ends.

@@sonicartzldesignerclan5763 but it is underrated. Underrated isn't only used for ratings(not entirely sure I spelled that right), it could also mean that it has a low audience. And no one thinks using the word "underrated" is cool. No reason for you to be this upset about it.

In my opinion Treasure Planet is the best animation Disney has put out. It's a shame what happened with it's release, leading to it not receiving the recognition it so fully deserved. Yet despite that, it is so beloved by many which is a credit to the people that really pushed for it to be made and created such a beautiful film. (As someone who's not super into Disney, I feel very passionate about this lol)

My reservation gave me the name "The Boy who Plays with Wolves." because when I was 7-8 years old, I was playing outside with some random reservation dogs, 3-4 of them. I was outside with them for about 30 minutes before my mother and her two friends found me. They realised right away that the "dogs" I was playing with were wolves. As soon as the wolves seen my mother and her friends, they ran into the woods and I never seen them again.

Such an underrated and under appreciated film. To me one of my favorite Disney 2000’s movies. It deserved better than the reviews it got. The animation gorgeous, the characters relatable and enjoyable, the music perfectly executed, the lessons very well made, and finally the emotions and character development hits close to home. Kenai’s journey is so good cause he went to a very rash, kind of arrogant, irresponsible young human to a bear that realized what he did was wrong and now understands that there’s more to life then he thought not only by the totem he was given but the consequences of his actions when he was bent on anger, sadness, and revenge. So glad you guys saw this and enjoyed it.😁👍😊

Cool little details you might miss:
1.) When he's a human, the movie is shown in letterbox, but when he wakes up as a bear, it transitions into wide-screen, and the colors become more vibrant, to represent Kenai's perspective changing.
2.) Sitka's totem is an eagle, and before he dies he tells Kenai that it means being a leader and guide for his brothers. And from the second Kenai transforms into a bear, there’s always an eagle in the shots watching over him on his journey.
3.) When Kenai was human, we didn't understand what the bear was saying - we only heard a growling and roaring. But when Kenai was the bear, we understood what the other bears were saying: it was Denahi who was growling and roaring instead of talking...just like a wild animal.

Putting myself in the shoes of a brother who thinks he has lost everything due to his harsh words ☆broke me☆.

My kids grew up in the 2000s and we loved brother bear so much we named our rescue puppy Koda and we even called her Koda bear at times. My daughter loved this movie and the puppy became her dog. We lost her 2 years ago and she left a huge hole in our hearts. Needless to say this movie Nelda special p,ace I. Our families heart. I am glad you guys enjoyed one of the classics.

This is by far one of my most favorite Disney films and I so hope Disney keeps it just as it is now. It's such an amazing film, the animation, soundtrack, voice acting and story just melts well together

If you can get your hands on a DVD copy of this film, there's a commentary done entirely in-character by the moose guys. First time I ever saw this movie, I saw the regular version and then the commentary back to back! Stayed in my head rent free ever since.

Love that you three watched this one, it's so beautiful! Two things I want to add for more context. That one bear was speaking Croatian and he said something like "I almost froze while I was going through ice crossing, it was something I barely survived, BARELY!". The other thing was about the scene where Kenai admits what he did to Koda... apparently the original version had the full sound of Kenai telling Koda but in test screenings and such, execs made the change to keep the music loud and have Kenai be nearly silent because it was just too sad for the kids (and most adults watching it tbh)

00:50 This is actually kinda sad, that this movie gets forgotten... It has a very beautiful message imo. There isn't much movies about brotherhood nowadays.

This, Treasure Planet, and Lilo and Stitch are some of my favorite movies. I saw it in theaters and you bet I had the DVD. I had a little plastic Kenai toy that you could transform back and forth from man/bear. I remember really enjoying the game on the GameBoy as well XD
I lost it a long time ago but man I’d love to play it again

11:41 I love the detail that there is a change in the width of the screen, referring to the fact that when Kenai is turned into a bear, he gets a wider view of the world. Loved this move and your reactions 🩷

I saw this movie in theaters when it came out and it is still one of my all time favorites! I am suprised no one talked about how it teaches accountability butter than just about any animated movie I can think of. The song "brother bear, I let you down" is all about taking accountability and saying I messed up and I am so sorry! That is a powerful message that I took from this movie as a kid.😊

I was named Soaring Around Eagle. Thats my name. Gumbawa Mashiit Migisi. And uh definitely I see why they named me that. To be hones, I've been all around. Even as a kid I explored places.
I was kind of like the guinea pig. If all my cousins were afraid to do something, I'll be the one to try it out first. Definitely got my fair share of injuries like that. But its good for Canada, at least. Free Healthcare. Don't have to worry about injuries when you know I know we can be healed from them

So I was 8ish when this came out, I wore out the DVD by rewatching it over a few years. I remember one of the little DVD extras was a game where the Shaman woman asks you questions and then you find out what your totem is, kind of like taking the Pottermore quiz. My sister and I would always retake it if we got what we thought were "lame" animals lol.
Also, this movie was nominated for an oscar for animation. it lost to finding nemo.
The other movie I saw I'm 2003 with Joaquin Phoenix was Signs. Some images from that one still haunt me...
The kid who plays Koda was the youngest nephew in The Bernie Mac Show

One of my top 3 favorite Disney Movies. Far to underrated. I’m not sure why it it didn’t appeal to people. The art style for its time is beautiful, the nature of which it tells a “Boy to Man,” story is great. Maybe cause it didn’t have that fully cute and fun vibe Disney is known for. Idk. Great movie and great reaction!

I miss when Disney movies had consequences like this-Koda’s mom doesn’t come back. Kenai doesn’t become a man because he realizes he was wrong-he becomes a man when he truly accepts the responsibility that comes with his actions. He took Koda’s family away, so he willingly gives up his humanity to protect and support koda as family.

This movie is very near and dear to me. One of my favourites as a kid and watching it now it always brings me to tears. It's a movie about perspective and family. Probably one of the most beautiful transformation scenes ever, the lighting and art, the landscapes, characters and music, everything in this movie is just gorgeous.
Fun fact: They actually used some early 3D animation in this. The antlers of the moose brothers were first animated in 3D, then drawn over in 2D. This way they could keep the shape way better than if they had to construct it all in drawing. Highly recommend watching the episode of Corridor Crew on it, where they talk with one of the directors Aaron Blaise about it.
Watching it in German, the moose weren't Canadian but Swedish, called Benny and Björn. :D
